Such a funny world we live in
When each day it's as though my heart is breaking
Miles that stretch and turn
Keep us separated for what seems like all eternity
If I could only see your smile,
You eyes so blue and clear
Even if for just a day
I'd be content for another year
I miss the sound of your laugh,
Your touch, your scent, your love
I miss my very best friend
The only one I've fully let myself trust
I've given you so much,
Promises, my heart, my hopes
And all I've ever wanted in return
Is your company and a life free from hurt
Perhaps one day we'll marry,
But I need to see you more
I want to fall in love again and again
With you, my best friend.
