The darkness and silence of the night, it's like a monster or beast that wasn't always so stealthy, but could be as lethal as anything else out there. It gave signals of its approach by the change in temperature, and the change of colors in the sky above. The warmth of the reds, oranges, pinks and purples slowly turning to colors of dark blues, purples and black. True, protection could come from the stars and the moon above, but they weren't always around. In all this not everyone took heed in the warnings, and took their chance of escape while they could. Not everyone always ran back home, and or find shelter to hide until the protective light of the sun took the thrown of the land once more with its warm nature.

Janus just so happened to be part of that group, but it wasn't because he was stupid, or too slow to find a place to hide. Oh no. He just happened to be one whom found no fear in the night. He had no fear in the creatures that used the shadows to their advantage to prowl around for prey and victims. No. Janus was trained to accept the shadow of the night. He was trained to use the shadows and the cover of night to his advantage.

He loved the night, like a snake loved the warmth of the sun. He loved the silence, the shadows, and the mysterious that hide in among everything. He loved the thrill of running in to others that took shelter in it whether they are those whom would want to bring harm to him, or those who were could make for interesting conversation.

But why would something that seemed to pose no threat to anyone love the night? In all truth, Janus was a threat in his own right if someone managed to bring it out of him. He was a threat that just didn't give off the air of being a threat. But for now, he just took comfort in his walk through the forest to clear his head.

The little foal walked slowly through the forest feeling the weight of the talks he had with others on his head. Miasie was becoming like a mother to him and he didn't know how to react about it since he didn't want to be a burden on the poor mare. He didn't want to be a burden on anyone really so that was why he usually traveled on his own. He had been traveling in search of something. He still didn't know what yet. He was too young to know what and to understand how he felt about certain things. One day he knew he would find his answers even if it took him forever. His sister would be there for him so at least he had that, but right now he needed something to distract him from himself. His mind was eating him alive right now with the all questions he didn't have answers to. He peeked around the dark woods feeling the night air beating against his body, but paid it no mind. The colors in the night sky just above him were illuminating. He loved to gander at sights like those. They always amazed him. The simplest things did anyway.

He stuck to the path the best he could. It was what he knew and he didn't want to get lost with his mind acting the way it was. It would be too much for him to handle. Being analytical had it's perks, but then also it's downfalls. His little legs carried him slowly now. He was getting tired and hoped for some kind of mental relief soon. Before he knew it, he stopped at the sound of footsteps close by. His white vacant eyes looked around the dark woods as if tracing them for some kind of life. His eyes then stopped on the movement not to far from him making him step closer, but not by much. "Hello." He called out lowly in his usually chilling tone of voice. His head peeked over a bush before finally catching sight of the stallion who had been moving.

By further examining the stallion, he noticed the blindfold, bloody wraps, and very interesting tattoos on his body. His ears perked up with even more curiosity now. "I'm sorry if I have disturbed you in any way. I'm just merely looking for someone to talk to." He told the male truthfully as he stepped through the bush shaking himself a bit to get the twigs out of his hair. "You look very interesting if you don't mind me saying so." He told him tilting his head at the way he looked. It was very interesting.

"Oh I'm Hania Shen by the way..what is your name?" He asked as he stood there staring at him with vacant eyes.

The dark stallion couldn't help but give his trademark grunt when the sound of a small voice halted his thoughts. Not only was he slightly annoyed at that, but also the fact that such a thing had become normal, and well, expected, whenever he actually found time to wander around his thoughts. It happened back when he was with his herd, it happened when he decided the leave his herd, and it happened many a times when he met Danari, so why would it be any different when he wandered off to be alone for a while? It wouldn't, and it never will be, and he knew it. Life would never allow him to have one moment of peace, one moment alone for as long as he pleased.

With a flick of his ear, and a glare set behind his blindfold, Janus stopped and set his gaze towards the small ghost like foal, to which he gave no respond towards the greeting.

"..."

Though he didn't have anything against them he really wasn't someone who enjoyed the company of foals either. Still, he would tolerate them if they showed they wouldn't be a burden to him.

"Janus" he said after the colt stopped chattering away at him. "And why would you choose to come towards me, is there no one else around you can go find company with? No parents, or siblings either? I can't say I am the best company someone can choose."

The speckled cerynei smiled faintly as he walked over to him a little move before stopping since his words made him think twice about joining him. “It’s nice to meet you Janus.” He said to him lightly before sitting down on his rump examining the male more still thinking he was very interesting looking even if he didn’t want the company.

“I have a twin sister, but we rarely travel together. Most of the time I wander off from her because other Soquili peek my interest a lot more. Like you for example..your markings are very interesting and it’s something I haven’t seen on others yet. Does it mean something?” He asked him curiously before giving a shake of his head. “My parents are dead, but you don’t seem to be that bad so far. Why don’t you think your company isn’t good enough?” He asked tilting his head. He thought his company would be something that would be a bore not the other way around really.

Keeping his unseen gaze tight, the stallion carefully watched the young colt's actions as he mind kept clear notes about them. Though the youngster didn't seem like any sort of threat Janus knew it was best to always keep good notes on those he met, and those he observed since one could never know what such information may come in handy some say. As they say, information is power, the the key to great things, even if those things did mean the death and demise of others, but as long as you get what you want in the end...

With the flick of his tail he resisted a rolls of his eyes, and opts to just shake his head at the colt's words. "Nice to meet you" wasn't exactly what a majority of others often said to him, and for good reason.

"A twin and dead parents huh?" The news of a twin, and dead parents was something that did peek his own interest, for Janus himself could relate with him having his own twin, a brother, and a dead parent of his own, his father. Though, Janus could say his mother might as well be dead to him since he wished to have thing to do with the mare. For all he cared she was better off dead and Janus would spit on her grave, happily.

"Yes, but I'm not sure if I should even tell you the meaning and history behind these markings. It really is none of your business in the first place, though I do highly doubt you would even run in to another like myself. You may say I an not bad, but if you knew the truth about me you might think differently. I don't have the cleanest record in the world after all. I was born for one reason, and I lived out that reason, and the only reason I can't continue to do so is because of my arrival to these lands."

The little white colt stared up at the older stallion listening to everything he was saying. He rarely never paid attention because it was just plain rude and he didn't want to be that way to someone he didn't truly know that well, but he wouldn't really be that way towards anyone else either. He was just too polite for his age or so he assumed. "Yes..me and my sister are all that is left of my family." He nodded to Janus with a emotionless expression lingering on his face like it always did. "Do you have a family of your own?" He asked tilting his head wondering if this intriguing stallion truly did love someone. It was something he knew he would have to face when he was older, but was a little afraid to face it. In fact..he was scared shitless about it.

"I know it isn't my place or business, sir to know your history and I'm not trying to pry into your personal matters. But it's not like I can harm you? I won't use it against you either. I never talk to others about personal information from someone else and it's not like I will hold it against you. I don't judge others. What they do is their business and if they want to be killers or those that do everything right then that is them. No everyone is the same. I simply like hearing about people's lives. Hearing their stories no matter how big or small they are. I go day by day speaking with spirits listening to their tales...so it wouldn't be a big deal if I heard yours." The little colt let out a long sigh after his little speech before looking out into the distance. "But...like I said. It's your choice." He nodded looking up at him again with white eyes. "Either way..no matter what your past is or your present you are you. It's what makes everyone who they are." He nodded.
