It was quiet in the forest. Sah’erir’s steps were light and quick, her rather long ears pricked for sounds of danger. The sparse smatterings of birdsong were reassuring, moments of utter silence were to be regarded as signs that danger lurked quite nearby. Quiet was alright, it could be peaceful and calm. But silence…silence was bad. Darkness made her uneasy as well, sometimes, but a silent night made her nerves crawl beneath her skin.
There were no such issues now though. Just a quiet evening with bits of sunlight filtering down through the leaves of the trees and bushes that made everything so very green. The ground was soft underhoof, and the scattered strands of birdsong reassuring. Still, with the sun past its peak and beginning its decline, perhaps it would be a good idea to have found someplace to settle down before the darkness took over the sky.

Almost everything in the forest scared Kihaku, but she didn't have her father's legs to duck under this time. It was because of this, the filly only made short bursts in and out of the bushes. Whenever she needed to eat or just move some distance on her search of her father, she didn't remain out of the bushes for long. Of course, this would lead to her getting a bit scratched up from squeezing between the branches.
At this moment, as the sun got past its highest point, she ventured out from her current "nest." When she was sure it was safe, the little uni trotted out and through the trees. With every tiny hoofbeat against the ground, she desperately hoped she got that much closer to finding her father. Little did she know, she was drawing nearer to a soquili, unfortunately it wouldn't be who she would hope.

The sound of tiny hooves caught her ears, and in the tranquility of the forest the presence of another felt louder than perhaps it truly was. Even if it must be a small other. The hoofbeats were too light to belong to someone her size, so it must be a foal. Or one of those tiny soquili, the ones who looked like miniature versions of her kind. Or perhaps smaller versions of the others, as she hadn't seen many with antlers and ears quite like hers.
But, as she caught sight of the little one, it was a foal after al. A light colored foal with a red-tinted mane and tail and...a horn? Yes, a single spiraled horn in the center of her forehead. Didn't foals usually have parents with them?
The mare paused, listening, but heard no other hoofbeats. Odd. Well, it was hardly any business of hers. She still needed to find a place to sleep tonight.

Kihaku continued to move closer. Soon enough, she spotted the mare ahead of her. Her ears flattened a bit at first, a little nervous since she didn't know the mare, but at this moment, she was scared and desperate. With that, she quickly trotted over to the mare, hoping she could help. "E-excuse me!" She called out timidly as she drew closer. "I-I hope I'm not bothering you, b-but I'm lost and I can't find my Daddy... c-can you help me?" She asked. Now, normally, she didn't stutter or stammer, but at this time, she couldn't help it as her body trembled.
