Since WE ARE a ELVEN guild I want to know your view on the Elven and Fairy World. There are many different beliefs when it comes to the two.
Many Say that the Elfs and The Fairies are Great Enemies like cats and dogs. They get along sometimes but very Rarely
Others say Their Family that they are More like Just a different Breed in Dog.(( NO they are not dogs just example of how they are a different type of the same thing))
These are Only the Rumors I have personally Heard and Read Stories about.
Ever since I was little I've liked these tales and I would like to know if any of you have heard any stories and would like to share your Beliefs with me.
I will Post Everyone's Beliefs Here so we can see a variety of truths.

lolz i can go on foreva about this stuff, they would be neither or both at the same time, as i bielieve the elfs and fairies are of the same family- because in all fanily trees you have those that will be the ememies even in your own family ^_^
and i say this because:
Elves and fairies on certain levels can be somewhat similar, Elves and fairies were known as minor nature and fertility gods. They were looked upon as youthful and having great beauty. They are somewhat small in stature and have pointy ears, both could use magic and lived with there own kind being loyal and indepened amost there own kind, be a friend to ether and they will reward you be a foe to ether and face hell xD
the only differenace is that faries have wings and are usually (not always) seen to be the size of your hand.
razz lolz does that make sence to anyone.....it does to me ^_^

Lol Yes it does make sense Lol its more like a sibling riverly they get along till a point and once that point is crossed they fight >.<
I thought only Pixie's were small?

fairys are also seen to be small, it's how they hide themselves, they are usually always smaller then elves tho, as elves are quiet tall in some cases

while fairies hm... i dont really know
i do know that fairies hide themselves and wait for the right time to come out
who knows maybe some are in your bedroom right now =D

I agree with Vex. Most of the fantasy I've read has them at least part of the "Fae" class/species (depends on what you read) with various other fantasy type creatures. For the most part, they seem to get along, but not always.
Some elves are seen to be the size of children (Santa's for one), and some are the size of humans or taller (Legolas), while fairies are generally smaller. Don't think I know of a fairy that was a foot tall, but I could be wrong.
If the two meet, generally they're helping each other. Often in books, either one of them doesn't exist (no fairies allowed to die from that) or they don't really meet up.

Anyway, since this is about Faeries and Elves, I think the Artemis Fowl heart Series are really good books about Elves, Faeries, Goblins, Trolls and lots more!!! I enjoy reading them, and Eoin ( wahmbulance pronounced Owen) Colfer has a really different point of view emo on them in the modern world biggrin Hope all of you get to read it, if you can find it! whee

I always thought of fairies as the whimsical cousins of elves. Maybe it's the wings. xd

I prefer elfs, but the fairies are nice and cute too. I am an elf, or elfaun usually. smile

i always heard that elves were small and that they were not as they appeared. elf-gifts can be either of great value, like the faerie flag of the macleods, or of none at all, like the gold that turns to leaves in the mabinogion. and don't forget that the erl-koenig is an elf too! (scary)
as for faeries, i know (from report) the sidhe the best. now there's a dangerous lot! the each-uisge, the bannsidhe, the red-cap... all of them bed news except for the wee brounie, who helps good people around the house.
each have their own agenda and brook no interference. best for humans to leave them alone when they can.

My middle name is Fay, which means Fairy, and I have a friend whose an elf. We are best buddies so I guess that's pretty close. : )
