It had been a week since Xero had meet with Prisca, and not day went by that he didn't think about it, even if it was in the back of his mind. Who would have thought there would be another? It was more probable for him to find another of his own kind than it was for him to locate his friend. That thought haunted him.

Xero looked out over the vast waters once again lost in thought. His right hand fidgeted mindlessly with the red cloth wrapped around his left wrist. No one else was on the beach at the moment to distract his thoughts. His tail curled tightly around his feet as he continued to watch the horizon.

Since he had arrived in this city he had searched it high and low, but day in and day out there were no results. Not even the slightest clue. Something was wrong, he could feel it from the day he arrived in the city, but he remained ignorant to the truth.

The sun shown brightly against the deep blue waters of the ocean. Winds rolled over the beaches stirring the sands and raising the waves just before they crashed. Out over the horizon an incoming storm could be seen far out to sea. The front would not make landfall until after the sun had set. That was more than seven hours away. To Xero's back the trees of the thick forest rustled about adding to the harmonious symphony. This was a prime location for one to relax. Xero had come to this location several times during his searches, if anything to calm his nerves.

The tops of the trees caressed her outstretched hand, the wind blew her silver hair back off her neck and cheek. The only way the female Mewtwo could bare to have her feet off solid ground was by gliding so close, she could touch something solid. As a Pokemon, it never bothered her as much as it did being a woman. A few things have changed since her transformation, in fact. Such as her taste buds once preferring something sour now enjoyed sweet. She guessed it was just what came with the territory of a new body.

The last tree brushed her purple fingertips as her shadow broke out from the forest and spread over the sands below. Stopping her speed, she dipped her body so her feet faced the ground and tried to lower herself as easily as she could. When she was about a foot from the ground, she shifted backward more, completely forgetting most of her long skirt was bundled and tied to her tail to keep it from catching in the tree branches. Once the fabric stopped extending from her raised other foot and the purple tail trying to rise for balance, she took a little stumble in midair, catching herself before she could plummet to the sand below, her heart hammering in her chest. Lowering the raised foot, she made a more successful landing onto the ground, bending her knees slightly, with her arms outstretched for balance. Even with most of it bundled behind her, in that position, the entire skirt covered her bare feet and then some.

Her tail flicked like a cat, like it was irritated at the weight on it. It didn't move because of the weight. It moved because she felt a presence. That same, familiar one she had felt a week ago in the cafe. It made her heart start faster, in surprise and slight nervousness. She hadn't expected to feel it that strongly, again. Least of all out here. She shouldn't be too surprised. He had better means of transportation than she did.

She stood up straight, first, almost buckling from the bundled skirt tied to the still flicking tail. It wanted freedom. She was too distracted to give it freedom. Only one turn of the head found who she knew was there. Xero. Watching the water. If he hadn't been aware of her presence as she was coming here, he would be fully aware now. For the past four days, she hadn't thought about him much. Not with the work pile at the shop piling up. She, too, had been amused by the finding of another of her own kind, though she already knew of his existence. Never once expected to find him in a more human state than Pokemon. That was a surprise. That strange place had a way of collecting Pokemon to it.

She stood still, like a deer caught in headlights, waiting for his first move. She felt like she was intruding. But leaving would be rude. And she really was glad to have found him, again. 'Specially in amongst working on the jewelery alone at home.

Xero had at first ignored the oncoming 'strange' feeling, but when she had landed quite a distance behind him his concentration was purposely broken. The incoming tide begun to just barely kiss at his toes, a clue to how long he had been standing still. His long hair whipped about behind him in the quick wind gusts from the approaching storm.

-....Good morning Ms Prisca.- He spoke to her mind directly.

Speaking to the mind was far less dangerous than reading one's mind. For one, no amount of digging was needed, which was the painful part of mind reading. Mind speaking was practically just sending a thought to the recipient. This only added a thought to their own. One could make the mind speaking a painful experience, but only purposely with the intent to attack. Xero had no such desire.

He turned his head to get a better look at the other Mewtwo. A large wave threatened to douse him from the knees down, but when it drew close the waters crashed around him instead of on him. The quick glow in his eye revealed this to be another psychic trick. Xero was skilled in the art of multitasking with his mind.

Lowering her arms to her side, the woman bent down to reach behind her for the flicking tail, catching it on the third try. She held it in both her hands when she stood back up and returned the glance, barely flinching at the voice inside her head. That was a trick she, of course, was just as familiar with. For a minute, the angered tail in her hands went ignored.

Good morning, Xero, she returned in his own mind. He was too far away for voices. Besides, after that little stunt, she had a personal vendetta to show she wasn't a complete klutz in all her abilities. She may not know many. Perhaps not even a handful of what he did. But she had mastered what she did. Not disturbing you, am I? Wasn't expecting anyone out this way.

Xero wasn't surprised that Prisca had the ability, in fact it was expected. They were too far apart to hear each other by normal means, especially with the wind.

-Not at all...- He replied. -Do not let my presence detour your own business.-

He turned his attention back to the ocean, just in time to divert another wave from dousing his legs. He was inwardly very amused by Prisca's antics going on behind him. One would think her own tail had a mind of its own. As always his amusement was not reflected in anyway to the world. His facial expression remained without emotion.

Well...If he said so. That was all that went on inside Prisca's head after his words left her mind. Now that she was calmer and knew he didn't mind her being there, her tail had calmed down. Though it still yearned for the freedom to move under her skirt as it pleased. Tying it as she did, it made her feel confined. Like being trapped inside a room. Underground...

A shudder ran through her body. She shrugged her shoulders to rid the thought, releasing the fabric around the purple tail and letting it settle back on the sand, completely free. The natural length of the dress completely covered it half the time, a small train following behind her. Ignoring Xero some yards from her, she picked it up off the ground to walk forward. Without a moment's hesitation, she stepped one foot into the crashing waves, than another. She kept going until it was mid-calf after a wave swept past her. Lifting her chin slightly to the breeze, she closed her eyes and dropped the thin fabric to float about her legs, the purple tail swaying under the water with the currents. The cool water on her feet was better than a soak in the tub.

She wasn't there long before something tugged at her under the waves. Opening her eyes and bending down, she reached a hand under the water to scratch under the chin of a passing baby Horsea, being sure to create a protective wall before her from the crashing waves. The psychic powers she rarely showed flared around her in a distinct pink aura, her eyes glowing a hazy pink behind her frames. She felt no fear near the ocean. No fear over what could be lurking below the sand or around her feet. Back with the scientist, she could always hear the sound of the waves on the docks just north of the town. It was always nothing but calming. So calming, that the familiar sensation that always told her of Xero's presence was momentarily ignored in the gentle sound of the waves.

Xero's focused returned to the horizon and remained lost in thought, once again, until another wave crashed down by his toes. As the wave parted he caught a quick glimpse of something shiny, and purple no less.

His tail uncurled before he quickly reached into the wet sands to retrieve the object. When he returned to normal posture he was already looking the object over in several different angles. Glass, some purple glass polished by the ocean for God knows how long. By the patterns it must have been part of a stain glass window at some point. Xero held it up to the sun for a better look at the pattern on the inside. It looked almost like a dragon wrapped around a delicate rose. The pattern was only an inch and a half inside of this three by three 'trapizoid'-ish figure. it was about a half and inch thick as well. It would have been interesting to know what would have caused such a strange pattern to form in the glass.

By now the waves were happily crashing against his legs.

He lowered the polished glass and looked over to Prisca. If he recalled correctly they had their meeting in a jewelry shop, her own. She had also mentioned something about orders to be filled. Perhaps she would have more use for this trinket?

With the thought in mind Xero simply teleported a good four feet behind Prisca.

"Pardon Ms..." He wasn't entirely sure how to go about this 'gift' giving thing. "I believe you would have more use for this..."

Should she look back he would extend the polished glass toward her.

The little Horsea leaned against her hand at the scratching. By how strong the currents were, she guessed it had gotten separated from its family and almost went washing up on shore before finding her feet to cling to. A wave of pity made her cup her hands around it and pick it up. It was half the size of an adult. It easily fit in her arms when held against her chest, where it snuggled into her for warmth. Her heart softened at it. Yes. She would keep it for a bit. At least until it warmed up.

The sudden changing of the presence in the back of her mind, coupled with a splashing behind her made her jump and lose her concentration on the shield before her. Holding tight to the little Pokemon, she vaulted back to her feet just as a wave crashed into her legs and made her back up with the force of it. The Horsea shifted slightly, but made little sound.

The woman looked over her shoulder at sudden appearance of the man behind her. "Yeah?" was all she could manage for a moment. Even if she hadn't been deep in her thoughts, it would take a while to get used to how often Xero used his powers as compared to her.

Turning on the spot, Prisca stood up straight, holding the baby Pokemon in both of her arms. A foot's space now existed between her and the other Mewtwo. The current was strong, today. She was glad he wasn't less than four feet behind her or there would have been a collusion.

Her silver hair whipped in her face, some of it getting caught in her glasses. "Use for what?" she asked, her voice more stable, shifting the baby in her arms. Once it was warmer, she would send it back to the ocean.

Xero's stance tightened when Prisca was knocked from her concentration for the moment. Luckily she regained her feet before any action could be taken.
For a moment he stood still, feeling very foolish. Of course she may not have had a use for such a thing. He certainly didn't. It was rather pretty, but not practical.

"You make jewelry..." Way to state the obvious. "...I mean to say... you would know what to do with it better than I. It.. is pulchritudinous." Another thing Xero made obvious, he hadn't a clue how to make jewelry. He knew of rocks, they types, how they were made... but crafting was another matter. It was a skill he never even thought to apply himself to learn.

He lowered his hand slightly at seeing the baby pokemon. Her hands were occupied, there was no way she would take it. Again, he felt terribly silly.

His own hair whipped about in the wind, making it seem like there was an ocean of purple behind him. At times some hair would whip about in front his eyes, which didn't bug him in the least.

Prisca's purple eyes glanced down at the piece of glass in his hands. Her mind sorted through the possibilities of what could be done with it. She knew it could be worked with. It might damage the actual design on it. She would have to sketch it on a piece of paper and fix it up afterward. But it could work. More so if she used the design on it to create something totally new.

Shifting the baby to one arm to free her other, she turned to the side for a moment, not saying anything about what she was doing. Had she known how he was really feeling, she would have explained. Her hand hovered over the crashing waves for a few seconds, the out-of-place pink of her aura springing up, showing behind her black frames. The water parted under her hand, leaving a cylinder of air that the waves didn't hit nor filled back up. Lifting her hand, she pulled up a bubble of water to place the baby in. It swam around its prison, happy at the still waters.

Now that the baby was safe and her hands were free, she reached for the bundle of fabric tied around her waist. Of course she had brought a shawl with her in case it got cold. Unfolding it in front of her, her eyes still glowing hazy pink behind her frames while she supported the baby safe above the waves, she invited Xero to drop the glass into the fabric.

"Yes," she answered, smiling sweetly. She felt touched that he came over to her to bring her something when he barely knew her. The way he spoke, he sounded shy and unsure. This amused her. On a normal person, it was cute. On a Mewtwo, it was much more so. "I know what to do with it. If not the glass itself, the design whose colors I can see. Random finds help with inspiration. I appreciate you bringing it over. I don't have any pockets, though."

Xero watched quietly at Prisca's display of her powers. It was to be expected weather she said she had the experience or not.

Amusing how the little Horsea was still in its pokemon state. Perhaps it was not the city itself, but rather the soup shop with the 'magic'. Curious.

When Prisca offered up her shawl to hold the polished glass he immediately snapped out of his previous thought process. "Oh?" He spoke close to near absent minded before dropping the shiny trinket into the offered Shawl.

"..You are welcome." He took a few steps back after speaking. "...I wish the best for your crafts than."

Another nod of his head, the respective bow thing, and he continued back down the beach not sure what to say next. His mewtwo-like feet barely leaving any tracks on the sand. The long dark purple tail also hung low, which was not normal for this mewtwo.

He wasn't the conversational type and had felt he had already made a fool of himself with his display. The feeling was foreign and very terrible. In all his years of existence this was the first he felt of it.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 27, 2010 8:46 pm

Prisca didn't at first notice his drifting away as she focused on wrapping the piece of glass as best she could inside her shawl, so it would fit back around her waist. Somehow, she managed to make a little pouch for it and use the rest to around her waist. The smile was gone in her distraction. It certainly didn't return before she even raised her head. That presence in the back of her mind had faded slightly and was still fading. She knew he wasn't in front of her anymore before she even looked up. Was it something she had said? Or did? She hoped not.

She almost went straight after him, her curiosity over this overwhelming her, before she remembered the little baby in the bubble. Her eyes still glowed pink. Without hesitation to think about her next action, she grabbed the bubble around the edges and rose from the waves to go further out at sea, where the water was calm enough to drop the baby safely back into the water. She watched it for a second as it descended back down to the bottom of the ocean. Her dress floated on top of the water, the glass safely tucked behind her.

With that out of the way, the woman changed her direction back to the beach. Gathering her white and black skirts in both hands, she lifted them off the ground as she made a descend, being sure she didn't trip this time. She was also sure to land to one side of him and slightly in front, so she was in view. Whatever was going on in his head, she didn't feel right just leaving it hanging in the air. There was just one thing wrong with her attempt...

She also wasn't sure what to say.

"Uh...Xero?" The front of her dress was being twisted by her fingers, the fabric clinging to the outline of her legs from the water, as she thought about what exactly to say. Her nervousness was increasing. This time over something different than before. Her usual confidence had a tendency to disappear when she was around him. He was a much older, much more experienced clone like her. Hard to keep your confidence around it when one was a baby compared to it.

Water dripped to the sand below her while she wrung out her dress unconsciously. Oh, well. Just get out with it or he might leave completely.

"Stay a little more? Unless, of course, you have a prior engagement elsewhere. Don't want us parting on bad feelings, anyway." Her hands pulled down on her dress, making it table top flat between her arms. Her tail was curled out of sight under the dress, coiled around her feet in a relaxed posture. Even if she, herself, didn't feel relaxed. "But I do want you to stay."

Xero paused as soon as Prisca came into View. His brow quirked. Perhaps she had forgotten something? He looked from the bit of dress in her hands than back to her eyes. She looked a bit troubled.

"...Yes?" He asked now very curious about what had happened.

When she requested him to stay his eyes widened just slightly. 'Parting on bad feelings'? What bad feelings could she be referring to? Now, on top of feeling a bit foolish, he now felt a bit of remorse for anything he might have said to lead her to believe he was upset. He couldn't for the life of him remember anything said that would even hint at anger.

Though Xero was good at keeping on that stoic mask, his concern over the matter was starting to show a little. Very very little.

"...Ms, I can assure you, I bare no ill temper toward you. My apologies for anything I have said to upset you in any way."

Xero had to think about her request fr him to stay a moment. He did want to continue his schedule and search for his friend, but it was nice being so close to someone who felt so familiar. He would never admit that at this point. Perhaps it would not hurt to divert from the schedule just one day?

"...I could stay with you... if that is what you wish. My former engagement will be going nowhere."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 29, 2010 12:13 am

Prisca was quick to shake her head at the upset comment. She wasn't really upset and she hadn't meant to come off that way to make him feel worse. She felt more worried. Worried that he would leave. It was strange to her. She didn't really know him, but the connection of their past and what they were made her feel like he was almost family. And she missed having that kind of connection with anyone.

"I'm not upset," she answered, shaking her head twice more for emphasis. "And apologies are not needed. Thought more I said or did something." Looking down, the Mewtwo woman let go of her dress. It wrinkled where her hands had been clutching it. Knowing he wouldn't leave had made her feel too relieved to keep toying with it. She smoothed it out before glancing back up to his face. Trying a smile, she clasped her hands in front of her like a proper lady.

"I would, if you wouldn't mind." Her smile widened more, taking on it's usual friendliness than the nervous one she had before. "I....Uh....Didn't really plan this far. It's just nice to know one isn't really alone."

No matter how familiar she may feel around him, that last sentence wasn't something she would have normally said out loud for a while. For some reason, she couldn't help it this time. Silence didn't make her too comfortable when you don't know the person well. And misunderstandings, no matter how small, needed explanations.

"I don't have anything to do today," she added, looking out over the ocean, enjoying the caress of the wind on her face. "Taking a day off."

Xero silently agreed with her statement. It was not something he ever wished to be, truly alone. From his creation he always, deep down, wished to be with someone who can help him understand the world. The only two people who even came close to that companionship were taken away.

"...It is a human need, to have companionship with their kin." It was actually one of the more important needs. The scientist in charge of keeping him alive always told him that. It was an explanation to his own inner desire according to her.

He looked back out over the ocean as well. The clouds far out over the horizon were growing darker by the moment. Perhaps it would be more than a simple rain storm.

"...I assume you have a lot of work with your business? Humans and poke'mon alike seem to like shining trinkets... especially at this time of the year."

Conversation still was not his strong point.
