Satan and Hell?

Satan contrary to popular beliefe is not the ruler of Hell. hell is not the final reasting place either... Satan is not locked in yet.
Job 1:6-8
When the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The Lord said to Satan "where have you come from?" Satan answered the Lord "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it"

This verse shows us that Satan is not locked down. When people present themselves befor a king the king is usualy in his throne room.. this means that Satan also has access to heaven and not only that the highest place in heaven, Gods throne room.

Satan the Deciever?

Satans main goal is to change our opinions by showing us things that look good.

Money: The first thing satan uses is our need for money in order to live He makes us belive that we cant be happy without a huge ammount of money.
Contol: The second is control he makes us belive that the more people we control the happier we will be.
Power: this is where whichcraft comes in he makes us belive that if we cast spells to make things happen then we can control our own lives (later i will go into the truth of wichcraft)

Satan the Distraction?

Satan uses many things to distract us throughout the day so that we who believe in God cant find time to spend in Gods word and for those who dont believe in God cant get to a place to learn...

The number one thing Satan uses belive it or not is the internet... the internet consumes hours of our days praise God that we have a place like this to come and learn about Gods word.

The next is Lust both Male and Female have problems with this they see an ad in the magazines or on tv and they want to get with someone... Satan wants us to get into unhealthy relationships that consume our time.

Then comes TV hours are spent waching the ever corupted television or movies... in our lifetime tv has become more and more immoral
TV and Movies in the 60s couples didnt even sleep in the same bed I love lucy ricky and lucy never once sleeped in the same bed.
70-80 couples could sleep in the same bed but there was no sex
80-95 sex was starting to become popular but the still wore cloths in the bed
95-now the sex sceans look so reall that you could actually think that they were ... and lets not even go into the foul language.

(this information may not be completely acurate but it is close and this isnt a history paper it is just to give you an example of how the ratings have changed since the beggining of tv)

I personally have an arguement about one of your points, Satan does not have free access to Heaven or God's throne room. It says "When the angels came to present themselves before the Lord" implying they were simply granted access for that period of time, not that they walked in at random, or on their own accord.

If this post is to debate-ish, feel free to delete it

No that's ok. I'm glad that you posed the argument in a non-confrontational manner. I would've tended to agree with you at first but if you read further past it merely states "and Satan also came with them." This doesn't imply at all that Satan was allowed to come by God or that God asked him to come in anyway as the first statement does seem to imply that God required of the angels to present themselves. Although, the angels didn't necessarly have a need to present themselves to God either. After reading over the whole statement, I don't see where your argument still stands. It looks to me as if Satan has access to God's throne room just as much as angel's and whether or not they were allowed to come or came on their free will is not specified in this passage.

where I do see the credability in your statement, actually, you are entirely correct....I concede to your point.

However, it does not seem that Satan is any threat in God's throne room anyways, even if he can access it...

The point wasn't that he was a threat, just that he does have access. He is the constant accuser of man and even does so directly to God's face.

bump

This is important for people to know. I may consider it to be a sticky in a future FAQ subforum.

Satan does indeed have access to the throne of God. Heaven isn't completely closed to him. Reading through Job, Satan comes directly to God and ASKS PERMISSION to tempt this poor man. This was a strong point for me, as part of a devotion I did in church. If SATAN, of all creatures, can have direct access to God, then why can't humans, the creation our Lord is most proud of? Sorry, getting a little off-topic. But I do like this thread. It makes me think a little more about our great adversary, who walks among us, just as the Holy Spirit does.
