Very interesting tips. I'll have to remember that for Winter.
However, I hardly ever catch colds. Another good treatment for the cold is some spicy herbal teas.
Best to sweeten with sugar though, depending on whether or not you like it bitter.

sugar isn't very good for your immune system, especially when sick, but i wouldn't want to drink something bitter either. maybe raw honey would be a better choice.

Aww. I'm sure a little bit of sugar now and again wont hurt? 3nodding
I tend to avoid honey, since it's higher in calories. On the other hand, it does have good health benefits.

sugar doesn't belong in the same sentence as 'healthy' in my opinion... no offence! I used to do it too..

but i've learned adding it to foods/eating it while you are sick and/or are becoming sick is definitely not a good idea... sugar disables the immune system while it is being broken down in your system. Even a small amount of sugar can drag down your immune system for hourrrs. You get enough natural sugars from foods breaking down, there's no need to add refined sugar.. :S

raw honey is anti-bacterial and has immune helping properties (not pasteurized honey..) biggrin great to add to tea if you're feeling a cold coming on.

I am a big fan of sickness-prevention. and the immune system.. ^^

many many MANY foods/herbs have anti-bacterial, anti-viral, immune-boosting, free radical fighting properties ^^ <3

I get the feeling that Dr. Horowitz's argument is tainted just by being associated with Jones or Rense.

This of course has nothing to do with the validity of the argument, but I think that people would be less likely to listen to what he has to say if they see him hanging out with such "conspiracy nuts."

I have not had the flu shot in I don't even know hamy years I think I was 14 but i have only been sick 3 or less times and I am 28 now.
