The light sound of humming machinery, the beeping of computers, and the taping of keys filled the air of HQ's server room. Other than that, it was relatively quiet. The techs were all busy with their duties, and their supervisor was around, which called for extra diligence.
Seth walked through the room, looking at a clipboard which held today's to-do list. He hummed to himself thoughtfully as he glanced over the tasks. The usually creased stress lines in his forehead were smoothed out today, meaning that he was likely in a decent mood.
Behind him floated a rare sight. A very blue Porygon-Z obediently followed in absolute silence. The shiny Pokemon drew a few curious glances from some of the techs, but nothing more.
Eventually Seth came to a stop in front of a panel which held a screen that constantly scrolled data about the server's current activities. A hand raised and long fingers punched a few buttons. A cheerful series of beeps and boops sounding with each keystroke. Two smaller screens next to the larger one flickered to life, allowing Seth to view diagnostic and security data as well.
Suddenly a tech called from across the room. "Sir, could you come take a look at this?" With a grunt, Seth looked up and then to the Pokemon beside him. "Beta, launch program 224b." The only acknowledgment the Virtual Pokemon gave was a single bob of its dismembered head as Seth walked off.

Work was boring. This was a conclusion the giant purple balloon had come to long ago, yet his fluffy-headed owner kept insisting on doing it and taking him along to help. She maintained that an extra two pairs of arms were incredibly useful to her work, Newton had figured out that all of her work was carrying things, and he did all of it.
Not this day. This day, Newton remembered that he was a pokemon capable of phasing through objects. While Nyx's back was turned and attention drawn by some experiment or another, the Drifblim floated away and through the ceiling and into the tech department above.
There were lights and beeping things and an unattended bag of some orange crunchy junk food. That was his now. Newton picked it up in one hand and picked the chips out of the tiny bag as best he could, shoving them into his 'X' one by one and floating down the halls.
Eventually, Newton passed by a room with something bright and blue in it. He stopped and floated backwards for a double take, expecting delicious jelly of some blue variety, but was disappointed. But it was something he could maybe have some fun with. Newton floated over to it, eating another couple of chips on the way, and stared at the back of it's upside down head. "Blim?"

Beta hovered closer to the panel, its wireless workings manipulating the scrolling text on the screen as it deciphered it and started repairing minor errors that were appearing. Its owner sufficiently busy and not noticing the nuisance of a Drifblim that wandered in.
However, the uttered word from the ghost managed to get the Porygon's attention. Its head turning around to look at Newton with large yellow eyes that looked him up and down. "Zee?" What did he want?

It was mischief time, and he required a mischief partner. Or a toy... This pokemon sort of looked like a toy. "Blim." Newton reached out with his pair of non-cheeto'd up arms in desperate want of grabbing the pokemon's floating head and carrying it away. Not to be mean to the Porygon-Z, but it would be alarming for anyone to find the head of something in their food, staring back at them.

As the grabby arms came at it, Beta's head tilted backward. Suddenly the Pokemon blipped out of existence before Newton managed to make off with its head.
It then reappeared on the large screen in front of the balloon.
"Zee zee zeeeeeeee!" The Porygon reprimanded, its digitized voice coming over the speakers. Its head was not a toy, thank-you-very-much!

Newton stared at the screen where the pokemon that used to be just in front of his hands was. "Blim, bliiiim blim...." That was the most amazing thing he had ever seen ever. He lowered his hands. Head in the food trick would have to wait until this pokemon was infected with the tomfoolery bug. "Blim bliiim?" They should go to the kitchen. Food was interesting. Newton demonstrated how interesting it was by pressing the bag of cheetos against the screen inhabited by the porygon. "Blim."

Inside the screen, the Porygon peered curiously at the bag that was shoved at it. "Zeeee..." Food? What was so interesting about that? Since Beta was a man made Pokemon, it actually had no need to eat, and it informed Newton of this fact. However, it would come back out of Newton promised not to grab its head.

Newton rotated vertically with a full body nod. Fine. No head grabbing... But eating didn't require a need to eat. The Drifblim was a ghost and didn't require sustenance, but he loved stuffing himself full of food.
Either way, he was bored and the porygon was now his best friend. It was decided. They needed to go somewhere away from the tall angry man. He was the final boss of their little game, and they weren't yet ready to prank him. "Blim bliiim." Newton explained and urged the other pokemon to follow him.

Beta watched the Drifblim for a few moments, but curiosity got the better of it. In a split second, the Porygon-Z reappeared to where it had been before. Its head turned to look in the direction of its still occupied owner, before it decided to follow after Newton. Perhaps it would try this food thing after all. The normal type floated through the air after the ghost, its wing like appendages moving up as it glided.

Newton raised his unused arms into the air in celebration of his victory. Friendship achieved! The ghost pokemon floated away and through one of the walls, forgetting that not everyone had his wonderful ability to ignore walls.

The ghost's glee seemed to be infectious, for the spot that made the Porygon's eyes, turned to little n's of happiness.
"Zeeeeeee!" It called gleefully, its wings already up in the air. It continued to follow Newton, not processing what was happening quick enough.
There was a thunk as the Pokemon collided full force with the wall and bounced off. The Porygon-Z spiraling backward and its head spinning. The n's now having turned into swirls.

Newton phased halfway back through the wall when his friend did not follow him onto the other side. "Bli- Blim..." Oops. Newton floated over and lifted the porygon off of the ground. They would have to take the long way. The pokemon hadn't noticed that his snack had also failed to follow him and were lying scattered about the floor.

Beta's wings hung limply for a few moments after Newton picked it up. But soon enough it shook its head as it woke up. "Zeeeee... zee." Ow. That had hurt. It could travel through cyberspace with ease, but walls were a different matter.
Shaking its unattached head, Beta floated up into the air again, having regained its senses.

This time, Newton led the Porygon through the door and down the halls to the stairs, heading for the kitchens. They were a strange sight, two floating pokemon sans owners traveling the halls of a criminal organization, one looking as confident as if he were an agent just like his master.
He wobbled from side to side the closer they got to the kitchen and his jelly. Delicious... gooey... wonderful jelly. "Bliiiiim..."

Especially odd since one of them was a very distinctive bright blue Porygon-Z. Beta had spent a lot of time in a PC as of late, and never got to wander around on its own. Thus the Pokemon was looking around as they traversed the stairs. It had no idea what to expect, but it would certainly be looking out for walls in the future.
