This RP is between Lian (Divena) and Farren (Nisshou Hakuyaiba) Lian made her way leisurely across the field, lost in her own thoughts. So much had happened recently. She'd met several interesting, new people, and made friends. She'd also made some mistakes, which she was determined not to repeat. Like that poor swamp Soquili... no, she had no intention of repeating that flub. Next time she had an unclear vision, she would make certain she knew it was future based, and that she knew exactly what would happen. Of course, that required that she learn how to control her powers, rather than letting them control her...
The mare heaved a heavy sigh. In rare moments like this, she missed her uncle and the steadying company he always provided. Of course, traveling had spoiled her on the silence of others. She'd discovered she enjoyed a good conversation now and again, which her uncle had never truly appreciated.
Her mind jumped to thoughts of returning to visit her uncle, or one of the friends she had made, but something inside balked at going backwards in her journey. Never mind the fact that she had no real destination in mind. She was so lost in her own thoughts that she paid little attention to where she was going or what was around her.

How long had he been in these parts? Farren could scarcely remember. Every day seemed to blur together with the last dozen that had past. Only the changing of the seasons allowed him to know that time was passing at all and that he wasn't repeating the same day over a million times. His life had begun to slip into mediocrity. It was not the glorious life he had envisioned living. In fact how things were now didn't even come close to what he had wanted. Each day was every bit as boring as the last as he was quickly beginning to learn that all the creatures that seemed to roam these parts were just as fascinating as river rocks.
What was worse was that he could slowly feel himself becoming one of them.
He was beginning to wander around aimlessly. He was beginning to have nothing to talk about beyond the previous nights weather. He was beginning to do nothing at all but eat, drink, walk and sleep. It was enough to drive a fellow stark raving mad. And yet, he had done nothing to break this cycle. He needed a leg up in life but had found nothing to give him that boost.
With a sigh he lifted his head to gaze out into the distance longing for the life he dreamed of. It would never happen though. Not with things like--- "Well hello there...what have we here?" He asked himself allowed breaking off his rather catastrophic chain of thought. Here, out in the middle of nowhere land, there was a lone creature standing. One of those special four winged winds with all the powers. A wicked smirk pulled at his lips. "Perhaps not all was lost after all."
Shaking himself off lightly to resettle his mane and tail he strutted off towards her. "Good day my dear. What in heaven's name brings you out here?" He greeted all charm and smiles. If this went well he bet he'd have his ideal life after all.

Lian blinked at the words and turned her head to face the strange stallion. Well, wasn't that lucky? Here, she'd just been thinking that she would appreciate a good conversation and then company appeared? She smiled lightly at him, pushing her heavier thoughts to the back of her mind where she wouldn't have to acknowledge them.
"Hello," she greeted the nice seeming stallion. He was attractive, she decided, and seemed to have an air of... friendliness. Yes, he seemed nice enough. "I was simply passing through. Do you live in these parts?"

Good, she wasn't a stuck up whore. He'd encountered many of those and the encounters had never gone well...ever. Granted he often ended coming out on top of those conversations. Mares were just ever so sensitive with all their emotions. It made it quite easy to leave them blubbering wrecks.
"I do indeed live in these parts, my good lady." In his mind he added and those parts by the mountain, and those in the woods, and those over by the lake. He had no true home. He didn't care to have one. "One could easily have guessed that you were not from around here." Because really she just looked so terribly out of place and hopeless. "I'm certain I would have known of such a fair creature living in the area after all." He graced her with a pretty smile as he came to a stop at a proper distance. Close enough to speak easily but not so close as to breech personal barriers.
It was also just far enough away that he might be able to pass himself off as the height of a regular stallion and not the actually height he was. His height was wonderful for seeming non-threatening, what mare would be scared of a creature her own height? However, being looked at as less of a stallion for being short had always bothered him the tiniest bit.

Lian flushed lightly at the compliment. "Thank you," she murmured before quickly shifting the topic to something a bit more neutral. "It's lovely here. I can see why you choose to settle in these parts. Or did you grow up here?"

Farren suppressed the great need he felt to snort at her question. Yeah. Right. Like he ever would have grown up in such a place. If she thought it was lovely then he got the feeling that she was not particularly well traveled. No, he had been born into a world of actual beauty and luxury for the briefest of times. It was a pity that all of that was gone now. That place was the one place he would never be able to go to again.
However, it was a rare time when his actually thoughts ever coincided with the words that came out of his mouth in 'pleasant' conversation. "Ah yes, it is quite nice here. One experiences all four seasons here and no I was not born in this area. I was born somewhere quite far from here and...moved. And you Miss? Are you intending to settle here? Perhaps work some of your...skills on the land?"

"Four seasons?" she cocked her head curiously. She had noticed, in her travels, the different climate changes but she had yet to stay in any place long enough to notice if they were actually seasons. The area where she had grown up had been close to the mountains, where her uncle preferred to live. The weather had been consistently cold, with just one period where it was even colder, and white.
His second question sunk in and she gave a small, absent smile. "Oh, I don't plan on staying. Though it's lovely here, I'm really just passing through."

"Yes, contrary to popular belief there are actually four seasons. One experiences all of them in this area." It was impossible to discern if his tone was serious or sarcastic. Farren himself had come from a very moderate climate. While there were four seasons there as well they were not as strongly defined as they seemed to be in the Kawani lands.
"Oh? Where are you intending to go from here, my dear?" He asked with a slight tilt of his head. Perhaps he could follow her away from this dismal place. If she wasn't going to change these parts then perhaps she knew of someplace better that would not require changes. That would suit him just as well.

"I see," Lian murmured considering the four seasons. She tucked that bit of information aside for later thought. "I don't have any particular destination in mind. I'm simply going where the wind takes me."
Almost literally. There had been several times when she had changed direction based solely on which direction the wind was blowing. More than once, she had gotten herself lost, which had brought up the question... if she had no destination, could she really be lost?

"With the wind you say?" He snorted lightly. In all honestly it was the silliest idea he ever really heard from travelers. What good was moving about aimlessly? He had seen from first hand experience that it was a pointless activity. "Why bother doing such a thing? For all you know the next land you land yourself in could be the land of blood thirsty crows twice your size." If there was such a land Farren had never heard of it, but what good would it do him to have the angeni running off to somewhere unpleasant?
The answer to that was none.
He wouldn't follow her if she was going to some dung-heap half way across the world. "Really...don't you think it would just be better to make yourself at home here? Work a little of your magic and I'm sure everything could be perfect right here."

"Perhaps, but I'm afraid that I wouldn't have much to offer your fine home. I'm not very good with the land, and I can't seem to stand staying still for long." It was something she had noticed whenever she was tempted to settle somewhere and make a home for herself. Inwardly, she balked at the idea of giving up whatever wondrous experience might be just around the bend.
Even if he was right, and there was the risk of her landing in a place that was dangerous and unfriendly, she felt confident that she could learn from the experience. What didn't kill you made you stronger and all that.

His ears twitched at her comment. She wasn't good with land? He crossed off elemental powers on his mental list of angeni abilities. There was still hope though, there were other great powers. Perhaps she had some sort of bond with ferocious animals that could do her bidding. He knew there were some angeni like that. He just needed to dig a little deeper to find out what sorts of things she actually could do besides converting oxygen into carbon dioxide.
"So you're not good with land, I find that not to be a trouble at all. I myself can't do anything with it for...obvious reasons." He was pretty sure he didn't need to spell out that he had no powers. He was just a regular ol' soquili. Nothing of that kind ever had powers. "I'm sure you have some skills. You are an angeni after all." He flashed her a charming smile. "And what would an angeni be without their special powers?"
If she had no powers, he really hoped that his last words had stung.

"I... do have some skills," she admitted reluctantly. "Though I'm not certain they're of too much use to most people. They're... fairly selective, I suppose." She was a bit reluctant to admit to her gifts. The last few times she had, it hadn't gone overly well for her. One Soquili had accused her of being insane, while another had tried to take advantage of her gifts for her own purposes. She didn't think this nice stallion would do either of the things, but she'd learned to be a bit cautious.

The words caused his ears to perk. Wonderful. So she really was an angeni and not a four-winged wind under the guise of one. Though that was not enough to instill a sense of confidence in her usefulness towards him. The use of the word "selective" and her own admittance that they were not necessarily useful left him in doubt of her. Her saying she had skills then downplaying them was not a good thing. He needed to know exactly what it was that she did and he needed to know now.
"So, what are they then? Mind reading? Mind control?" The thought of having someone around that could control another's thoughts sounded completely delightful to Farren. "Or something more along the lines of an animal domain? Wolves would be nice companions I imagine."

"Oh, they do sound like they'd make lovely companions," Lian agreed with a smile, then hesitated. "But no... nothing so dramatic as any of those. My talents lie in... well... I'm not certain what the proper term would be. I... see things. Scenes from the past, sometimes. More often than not, glimpses of the future."
She waited, hoping that he would prove that one soquili had been an exception, not the rule. That she wouldn't be thought a useful tool or insane for her claims. Surely a few bad seeds in her journey wasn't indicative of the rest of what she would find. After all, two was a coincidence, three a pattern. She hadn't reached three yet.
