The two Soquili walked together under the silver clouds and bright moon, their own ornaments and beings reflecting that of the celestial beings. As though the silver mare and the dark cloud stallion were the spirits of the night come down to the earth. She the moon, he the stars. Together they are harmony. Yin and Yang. Two sides of the same coin, somehow only finding each other now.
They both wondered where the other had been hiding all this time.

Ceros walked slowly next to Nokomis. Enjoying the evening winds and lights to their full extent. A symphony of peace. His glowing eyes trying to catch hidden glances at the dazzling mare as they moved along. Something about her made him feel so at peace. As if he was at home. As if he had known her all his life. As if that empty space in his soul had suddenly been filled. A hole that always sighed and searched, now found the perfect piece to fill.

He smiled gently, his gaze passionate with excitement for what he had planned for the two of them on their evening stroll. The moonlight grove was where he wanted to take her, though she had yet to know their destination. Surprise.

Nokomis walked with her other half. That's what he seemed to be. All the years that she traveled following the moon seemed to lead her to him. The long period of lonely travels was at last at an end. Her search seemed over.

They walked peacefully under the night sky, a gentle breeze blew ringing her small bells. She found herself unable t stop smiling or glancing over at Monoceros. Her heart was calm with him, there was no place she'd rather be. Flying couldn't even compare. She had to wonder where they were going. He hadn't told and seemed to want to keep it a surprise.

She ruffled her wings slightly and settled them back to her side and looked to the sky and stars. "Ceros, where are we going. The particular placement of stars is unknown to me. I've explored most of these lands, but it seems she still holds her secrets.", she laughed a bit. It wasn't often she got a nice surprise...or a bad surprise for that matter. It was exciting and she knew she'd love wherever they went as long as it was with him.

Her words flicked his large ears into higher attention, and the soft graze of her perfect feathers on his side made him look over to the mare.
He simply smiled, gentle and calm and collected. Though the hint of excitement and playfulness light up momentary like a sparkler in the New Year.
"Somewhere special. I think you will like it, tonight is perfect." His answer was vague and he didn't seem to be offering an answer at all. he looked up into the darkened sky with the bright sliver of the moon hung there like a lullaby.
"I think you will like it." he repeated, looking down at her again, his eyes blazing with that mysterious glow and a heated passion. His emotions were there, and they were evident. But his mind still hid in a mist, unable to understand the spell he was under.

They continued to walk in their silence, glances still exchanged often, and they indulged in the beautiful music of the night. A symphony few know of, and even less stop to listen. To the ignorant, it was wasted on their ears, but to these two enchanted Soquili it was the greatest of concerts. Every note, key, pause, snap. It had its own breath of life and it enveloped them in the velvet scarf or magic as Ceros saw their destination just a heart beat away.
"We are here Nokomis."

In his smile she would happily melt and as he spoke she smiled back and nodded slightly for she saw every place as special with him. She leaned into him a bit and wrapped her thin tail around his, "I'd love anywhere as long as Im with you."

She was all smiles around him and she didn't care. She was curious as to where they were going and couldn't wait to see what was in store for her. They continued to walk a bit and she looked to Monoceros again still gently leaning into him. "Tonight is a grand night, it seems perfect with just the stars and moon to light the sky as the music of the night plays softly and your here with me. Nothing could be more perfect." A small blush showed under the glow of the stars above.

They then stopped and Ceros announced their arrival to the area. She felt special and honored that Ceros would share such a special place with her. She was excited to see what he had in store for her.

His smile only grew bigger at her words, his dark face lighting up with his fluttering heart. Feeling her tail against his, he looked up at the stars, thinking of how adorable she was and just how sweet. Ceros put some force behind swinging their entwined tails back and forth. An action he had seen two leggers who walked hand-in-hand do with each other.
"It is perfect. As though the Sky Goddess has created this moment just for us. I hope what you see now," He looked down at her as they stood in the mist of mystery, "Will only make things even better." And with a soft kiss he planted on her horn, he took the lead once more, leading his perfect mare with him.
Stepping just a few more moonlit steps, they appeared in a grotto that had been hidden by tall reeds, perfectly placed shadows, and guarding saplings. A small pool of water reflected the moon hanging above, magnifying it ten fold and seeming to radiate the shine of the object. Grass grew around it, speckled with dark blue flowers which were painted with fireflies.
A rock face, just to the right of the pond, was made of a sparkling stone. It glistened and whispered tempting words. traces and glimpses of quartz and moonstone peeked out onto the two entranced Soquili.

Nokomis giggled as Ceros made their tails swing together like the two-leggers do when holding hands. She had seen i many a time before the gave her flight and set her on her path. She smiled at him and at the memory as they walked a little further.

"The sky goddess herself must be jealous of me for stealing the stars from her.", she added with a blush as they continued on their way. Nokomis found herself blushing deeper when he kissed her horn, also making it glow a little more intensely. Soon they'd stepped into an area that was vastly hidden to any unknowing of it's prescence.

The shadows watched as the tall reeds guarded its secrets. A few more steps revealed one of the most beautiful places she'd ever seen. A small pond took shape of the moon and bore her magnified reflection. The blue flowers reflected the moon's light and had friendly fireflies about them smiling it seemed.

Nokomis was then drawn to a rock face made a shinning stone. She was in awe at the combined elements around the whole place and was almost speechless. "Ceros....it's amazing.. My heart is singing with the moons. It's beautiful.", she turned to him eyes almost tearing up in overwhelmed happiness. There could be not a more perfect place to be with Ceros then here.

With her heart fluttering and the moon and stars reflecting in their eyes she leaned up and for the first time shared a kiss with Monoceros.

Ceros was perfectly content with being Nokomis' stars. Just how she was his moon.
As the two of them stood in the awe filled trance of the place Ceros had lead them to, the stallion couldn't help but flick his eye in the purest of delight. Her comment on its beauty left him with the seem word-less feeling. He had stumbled on this hidden heaven in his earlier months of coming to the Lands; visiting occasionally. Always finding something new to explore in the small space.
It intrigued him so much, the grotto. The pool that reflected the moon even on the cloudiest of nights. The flowers that never seemed to wither. And ofcourse, the amazing wall of stone and crystals always glistening and pulling him in. He had one stone that he had been slowly dislodging over his visits. Hoping to get it out soon.

His thought was suddenly pleasantly interrupted by a motion noticed by the corner of his glowing eye. He looked down to see Noko moving up towards him. His eyes questioned her gently, but when he felt her petal-like lips against his, he was frozen and at loss' end with questions. it was beautiful. Perfect, gentle, delightful, delicious, flourishing. It was like kissing cherry blossoms.
But it ended all too quickly. The kiss had been light, but the emotion heavier than he had ever experienced. He longed to deepen the kiss, their quickly blooming relationship. He wanted her to feel the terrified trance of wonder he had just experienced in a heart beat. He wanted to see that adorably innocent smile she wore ever time he caught her looking. Every time she said the most beautiful words to him. And the one she wore now, as she stared at him. He hoped she wanted exactly what he wanted.

He leaned down and planted the lightest of kisses on her lips. Just a flutter of a moth's wings, the flicker of candle light. But had there ever been a kiss that meant more?

Nokomis was blushing immensely after she released her kiss. Soon she found herself being kissed, though it was very light, it was loving. Soft and gentle, it sent the purest of emotion to her heart and hers echoed it back.

She couldn't help but smile and blush, but she felt like a young filly again and soon moved closer to Ceros again, and leaned her head, careful of her long horn, into his chest, in a hug of sorts. She'd never felt happier, she was floating on air.

When she finally backed up from Ceros, she looked in his eyes, she bore her heart on her hoof/horn(?), "You are my starry knight, and....I love you with all my heart." She was blushing again, but smiling as well. And as if the moon was given her blessing it seemed to shine brighter as a gentle breeze swept through the grotto, her bells playing a sweet melody.

Nothing existed any more. It was the two of them, Nokomis and Monoceros. They were complete and they were one and they were together. They had found each other and their souls would never separate again. Their spirits soared the skies like fireflies and shooting stars.
Ceros closed his eyes as their lips moved apart reluctantly. He felt her place her delicate on his chest and he never felt more at peace. Wrapping his dark neck around her, protecting her from anything that threatened to take her away from him even for a second. He wondered if she could hear his heart. Beating, fluttering, screaming out for her. He hoped she could hear his heart. He knew she could hear his heart when she spoke and told him those three words that fit in the puzzle of himself so perfectly.
He loved her, that was what this blistering emotion was. This fiery glow in his being, it was for her. Why didn't he figure it out before? It was so simple, so powerful.
"I love you too. I can't imagine myself without my moon anymore. I wonder how the stars even managed to survive without the moon. How is it it took me so long to find you?" He crossed his glowing blue horn against her twisted one. His eyes continually radiating emotion and passion. It was almost unbearable.
"I will keep you close. You will forever hang in my sky. Even the brightness of a thousand suns will never be able to hide you ever again." He slowly moved closer to her, his horn sliding down hers, and their foreheads touched.
"I love you Nokomis. I love you so much." His heart ached for her, to hold her, have her. take in her very essence. He was so happy, he was so pure. He had discovered heaven in her.

"The moon was once lonely, but now she has found her one true star, none can outshine you. I don't know how it took us so long to find one another, but it was destiny that the stars and moon lead us to one another in the end. That is all that matters, our love will never die.", her words were soft, gentle, but strong. The words of both their hearts, inter wined like the spiraling of their horns. So strong nothing could break it. They would be together through this life and the next, their souls forever bound together.

"You will always be in my heart. I won't let it be any other way."
He smiled brightly, unable to maintain his mature, calm, passionate state. He was giddy, happy, excited, thrilled. Nothing felt real quite yet, the shock oh their shared emotions would hit him soon.
"Come." His tone was brimming with thrill as he was struck with an idea. He turned and stood by her side, re wrapping his tail into hers and holding it there tight. He moved slowly with Nokomis towards the dazzling wall, searching with his eyes for a mark.
Stopping a smooth grooving in the base of the rock, he leaned down looking at it. The groove matched his right hoof perfectly. With time and continual motion, it had became just as smooth as the large moonstone that had been the goal of the efforts. It jutted out of the wall awkwardly, having the stone around it reduced. Ceros had been slowly trying to excavate the gem from the wall for some time. Now, kneeling and gazing at it, he lifted his hoof and struck it hard in a final attempt to remove it.

It popped out of its filled space perfectly. The strong coat left without a nick, and the shape absolutely perfect. Just like the curious mare standing beside him. the dark stallion picked it up gingerly from the ground with his teeth and stood up once more. He turned to Nokomis and offered the gemstone to her. He said nothing, even though he could. Nothing needed to be explained.
He placed the stone softly on her elaborate head piece, her silver strands of mane forming a web to hold it in place lovingly.
"I will always find you, the stars always surround the moon after all. They are nothing without her."

She happily and quietly followed Ceros to a shinning wall. She watched with great interest at what Ceros was doing, then she saw the stone. It was perfectly smooth and mirrored the sparkle of the stars at night, with the color and brilliance of the moon. " A moonstone.", it was only a whisper. She had seen them before, but none like this one. None as perfect.

Ceros then proceeded to try and knock the stone from it's place in the wall. It came out with ease, but it looked like he had been working on getting it out for awhile. It was then that Ceros picked it up and offered it to her in silence. Her voice caught in her throat, unable to say a word as he placed it in her hair accessory. She smiled with a happy tear that fell. "You are the only one in my heart, there you shall stay. Ill always be able to find you."

She leaned in to kiss him a again, more passion behind it the before, she didn't want the night to end. When they finally did pull back from the kiss, she nuzzled into his chest again and listened to their hearts beat together, as one. "One day, maybe we can raise our children here, cradeled under the moon and her star.", she looked back up to him smiling and blushing a bit. It was pure bliss, she felt like she was starting a new life and it would be a perfect one.

if this was happiness, Ceros pondered as they lost themselves in each other through their kiss, i wonder how many know of it. Hope many have their own moon the way i do? Who else knows this heaven on earth form the sky?
No one else, concluded, smiling against her lips a moment before they parted, because no one else had Nokomis. No one else would have her, she was his. Only his. Others can see her and bask in her light, but only he was high enough in the sky to caress her being and hear her mysterious song.

Time was fluid as he listened to her and looked at her with an entirely new perspective. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and she seemed to be glowing even brighter than the reflected moon in the grotto's pond. His soul listened to her speak of a shared future, and he couldn't help but smile. Was there no better story than theirs?
"I can think of nothing else that would make me happier." He leaned down and softly pecked her blushing cheeks. "This will forever be out place. No dawn will ever break that promise."
