I came upon this last night after I beat the game a second time (bear with me here):

You know that rear entrance where the four statues are and page six of Ben's book? You also know that stupid door that's locked as well, right? I figured out how to open that door. You just have to interact with the statues this in order (positions are presuming that you came in from the garden): Upper left for the Hero of Skill statue, upper right for the Hero of Strength, lower left for the Hero of Will and lower right for the final statue. Once you do it in that order, the door will open up to a set of stairs that lead down to a chest (I got a rare diamond).

So that got me thinking: what if all the other locked doors had some kind of requirement like this in order to open up? Thoughts?

Thank you for pointing that out. I'll shall try it later.

I've been suspicious of bookcases ever since I went into Reavers Manor.

I need to try this.

ok ive found something there is an ivisible flit switch inbetween the antlers of a deer trophy in one of the hallways of the castle (thinking next to the library) it should open a secret door in the wall nearby

warning they have been saying that it might glitch so be careful when doing this one

It's not a glitch--once you hit the first one, shoot the other deer head in the same hallway (it's on the opposite wall). The bookcases will move and behind them will be a treasure chest. smile

Awesomesauce! Good investigation work there! (hopefully, everyone at the castle won't freak because I'm shooting at a trophy deer.)

Tried it and I got it to work (if you're gonna try for it, I recommend using a pistol over a rifle). The only one that really freaked was my son who never stops following me.

I tried to record it, but it's unbelievably hard trying to aim, shoot and hold the controller in one hand while trying to steadily hold a filming camera in the other. So I gave up on filming it.

I spent maybe an hour wandering around the castle trying to figure out other ways to open doors, and all I figured out was that it seems that you can't light the unlit candles in the throne room, breaking all the suits of armor in the training room doesn't seem to accomplish anything, and shooting the fireplace doesn't really seem to amount to much either.

I hate that door in the gardens. Its just too nice looking for it to be just part of the decoration. I'm hoping I might be part of a DLC because I really want to open it.

I thought they were too, but from what I remember reading, the stories the statue told wasn't the same as II. Mainly the mention of a hero not the same sex as the hero from II.

I haven't played in a really long time so I can't remember exactly.

The three Heroes it mentions were from Fable: The Balverine Order. Or at least mentioned. The group known as the Triumvirate lived something like a thousand years before the start of the Fable series, but they state that the Hero of Skill made a pistol, which would be impossible since pistols only cam about around the time of Fable 2. Also, the Hero of Will made a gantlet, which I'm fairly certain that is well an even more recent invention.

Fable: the Balverine Order is a book, not a game, though I can understand why you would think otherwise.

It really is a good read, and I don't like Balverines, either, personally. But they get what's comin' to them, so it's all good. (:<

Sent a message to Rooster Teeth about the doors. Maybe they'll make a video for it and possibly figure out how to open up the others?
