Today as I was talking with one of the ladies at PSU Students for Life about general abortion issues, I was reminded my Janet Folger's book of one thing---and this button from a pro-choicer explains it all. The pro-choice movement wants to get us off track.
I'm not saying that this button doesn't ring with some truth--there are certainly a lot of (what is perceived as) "homophobic" pro-lifers out there. But then again, any negative view about homosexuality (via religion or any other conviction) is considered "homophobia" to them.
I think that if the button actually mentioned abortion and what it is, it wouldn't be as catchy. Say, for example, "May the Fetus You Save From Being Dismembered Thanks to People Like Me Who Advocate Unrestricted Abortion be Gay". I doubt it would be as effective if, you know, the pro-choice movement actually mentioned the choice they are so wanting to protect, and yet never speak about. Plus, the button maker charges by the letter! Quote: you know what's funny about that? there are GLBTQ pro-life communities. The button just assume the gay community is pro-choice and liberal and all prolifers are from the Christian Right...But there are Feminists for Life, Left-Out (prolife liberals) we're really a diverse bunch.

It's offensive to me, in a personal sense.
As a gay man, it assumes that my life is something that would be funny if it angered people, who thought I was worth something.
It also supports the position that pro-life people are all right-wing homo haters, like you said, Akshamala.
It's just a moronic button, altogether.
I like your idea, better, for a button.

And probably mine will never appear there, because they would be offensive to the Pro-Choicers that visit.

You have as much say in this as you do in abortion. I was on another site where some guy was complaining that there are gay people who are prolife. It's okay to be a man and be prochoice, but how dare you be a man and prolife! Especially a gay one!

After figuring out some way to get a female to rape them? And become pregnant? And give birth in the most painful, agonizing way? And then not care for the child, resulting in the child becoming a mass murderer?

It seems to assume that pro-choice people *all* think abortion should be unrestricted, simply because they don't want it to become illegal and have many women and fetuses die horribly in black market abortion operating theatres..?

black market abortion would be just like it was before...done in doctor's offices by the same people who do legal abortions now. Those abortionists didn't disappear after they were allowed to practice abortion, they just had government sanction.
