Eira: *leaves a trail of bloody hoof prints behind her as she walks about observing all*
Nightling: *Merely smiles at Blake before looking to the little one who was leaving bloody hoof prints on the ground.* Hello there little one, you certainly to leave an interesting trail behind her. *Tilts her head to one side letting the copper braids dangle.*
Eira: *looks up to the pretty mare* Wha...*looks under her feet, and behind her* Oh....right *gives a goofy smile* I got a little messy with my dinner. XD
Nightling: *Laughs a little.* Indeed you have. But I bet it tasted good. The only time I see someone get messy with their meals is when it tastes good. So, did it? *Smiles at the filly, even though most might have been disgusted with the blood that covered the filly's hooves*
Eira: *looks a bit astonished by the mares reaction, but then smiled big* Why yes, yes it did. Nice plump squirrels that I caught myself. Do you eat squirrel?
Nightling: *Shakes her head.* No, I haven't the teeth needed to eat such things. But I have thought about it once. watching a young Skinwalker I cared for eat one made me wonder. But I couldn't being myself to actually trying to eat one. I leave that to those with the proper tools and continue with my roots and herbs. *Had noticed the surprise on the filly's face, and could guess why it was there. It only made her smile even more. She wasn't afraid of those who are meat. To her they had to live just like everyone else.* Though, I did try eating a fish once, only the critter was still wiggling when I caught it and it slipped down my throat. Jiggled the whole way down. *Shudders thinking about it.*
Eira: *smiles as she listens to her talk and makes a weird face at the mention of the fish* Ick...my mommy likes fish, but I like less slimy things. My name is Eira Linn, but just call me Eira. *smiles and shakes her tail a it*
Nightling: I hadn't meant to eat it in the first place, it was purely accident. *She smiled, lion like tail flicking behind her* I had caught it for someone else, but I was foolish to think I could hold it. *Shrugs* I'm Nightling, Eira Linn, that's a pretty name. But I do have to agree, fish are slimy in means of wet scales. I didn't feel too good for a while after that. Took a while for my belly to calm down at least.
Eira: *giggles a bit and continues to smile* Nghtling...that is a nice name. I've eaten fish a few times, but it's not as fun catching them, I like to work a little for my food like my papa. *Stands tall and proud* We are proud hunters! What is your papa like?
Nightling: *Tilts her head having been asked what her father was like.* My father is a kind and gentle stallion. He and my mother live of somewhere, I haven't been home in a long time. Most my family don't eat meat, sadly. *Her ears flick towards the colts, stepping up a little as if to look down towards them.* Then there are some boys, who know no better and will find themselves lone at night for a long time. *Says this to really no one in particular.* Eira, you should be proud of what you are. And don't let anyone make you think other wise, we need more mares proud of their ways. *nods*
Eira: *smiles proudly* No worries there! Im a proud hunter! Your parents sound nice, I hope to travel one day. I love my parents but i want the chance to see the world like they did. My papa has many trophies that he wears. I hope to to have my own one day to match his. *hears the other foals about and looks around at them, silently observing*
Nightling: Trophies are always nice. *She nods lowering her head to nudge to filly playfully, minding not to poke her with her horn.* Just don't go over board that you can't move. *Smiling she backed away a little to glance at the colts, then turning to pull a couple pine branches off a cream and green colored basket she had hidden from sight*
Eira: My papa had taught me to pace myself and that its ok to run away if things are too tough. Better to run to fight another day then fight to die, right? *smiles and then sees the basket* Oh your a momma? Such a pretty basket. *inches closer and sniffs and nudges it lightly* Do you have any names picked out?
Nightling: Yes, running away to fight another day is a good thing. It keeps us all safe, even though some, like myself, tend to look danger in the eye and laugh it off. *Smiles as the Eira came over and nudged at the basket.* No, I haven't a name for him yet. I figure when he awakes, I will name him then. For now, I just call him little one. *Watches the basket in slight sadness that she hadn't picked a name out for the little one inside. Names were never her thing.* What would you name him if he were yours?
Eira: *giggles and looks up to the mare again* Umm...Nightling jr.! cause he'll be as pretty as his momma. My momma said she'd didn't know what to name my little brother and me till she saw us. *looks back and nuzzles the basket and listens for the movement inside* Cailin is a pretty name....I also like Hyashi or Mori
Nightling: *Laughs a little at the first offer* I don't think he would like that too much, but we shall see when he and his little brother come out. It will be interesting to see how they interact as well. Most times things like this happen, a mother or father gets too choked up to think of names. *Shrugs* But he will have a strong one, one to suit who he is.
Eira: *nuzzels against Nightling* That's the way it should be. You'll be a good mom I think. What's the father like? I bet he is handsome too. *bounces a bit and smiles*
Nightling: *Nuzzles eira as if she were one of her own.* Thanks Eira, my mate, Crue, is a proud stallion. And very protective. As any stallion should be. Maybe one day you can meet him, he's a real sweet heart when you get to know him. *Smiles, wondering where Crue was.*
Eira: I hope I get to meet him someday. Maybe you can meet my momma sometime too. How much longer till he comes out? *gently nudges the basket* I look forward to meeting him too, maybe I can babysit for you someday *she lets a small giggle escape half being serious*
Nightling: I would be happy to meet your mother someday. Because she has a little treasure right here. *Noses Eira playfully before looking to her basket* I don't know how much longer he will sleep. I hope not too much longer, or the world will pass him by before he gets a chance to experience it. *Frowns a little before perking up slightly* I think he would like to have you as his baby sitter. But we'll just have to see, you two might even become friends. Best friends.
Eira: *smiles playfully* I would very much like to be friends with him, best friends. It'll be nice to have another foal to play with other then my pesky brother. Hurry up and come out of your basket....*nuzzle and speaks to the basket then to Night* I think he'll join us out here soon. *nuzzles the basket again and giggles*
Nightling: *Shifts to the back of the basket, pawed the ground a little before easing herself down. Laying down she let her lion like tail wrap around the basket, watching Eira nuzzle the basket and speak to it. She had to wonder if the little colt inside could hear, well that was going to be answered.*
Basket: *Wobbles slightly against the nuzzling, as if the colt inside wanted to come out and play.*
Eira: * She settled beside the basket as Nightling layed down too. She didn't know why she was so interested in the little basket or his mom. Nightling wasn't judging and was very kind she knew they would be good friends and hoped her son could become good friends with her as well. Then the basket moved...* He moved...he can hear us? *she nudges him again and speaks softly* When you come out we will play and run around all day. Remember my voice, know me by it and you can find me. Do you think he'll like me? *she asked not really knowing what to expect when interacting with other foals.
Nightling: *Watched as the basket moved again, one section of the weave shifting as if one of the colt's hooves were trying to break through.* I'm sure he can hear you, I bet he can hear a lot of things from in there. Learning many sounds and smells before being able to see. I remember, vaguely, my time in a basket like this. They were always warm and cozy, I don't think I wanted to leave mine. *Shrugs with a small laugh.* I imagine he will like you, Might even follow you around so much you would get sick of it, maybe? *tilts her head to one side* Then again, he might be the silly one and always try and scare you too. So much can come from a little body. Only time will tell, he might even turn out like his father. Loyal and protective.
Eira: He will be perfect for him. Im sure we will get along and even the best of friends can annoy one another at times....I think it's a true sign of friends *she laughs a bit* I'll be sure to see him once he's out. Once he is bigger he can protect me, but until then Ill protect him. *smiles and nuzzles against the basket again and stares, memorizing the baskets markings and colors so she will know him at first sight.
