Not only will you be responding to prompts, but you will be deciding a personality for this little guy as well. So get your keyboards ready and your creative juices flowing for a very unique experience.

Starts: November 21, 2010 @ 12am PST (GMT - 8:00)/as soon as Eve is out of raid
Ends: November 26, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST (GMT - 8:00)
Winner Announcements: November 28, 2010 @ 3pm PST (GMT - 8:00)
PostPosted: Sat Nov 20, 2010 1:00 pm

⊰Rules⊱

o1. Eve is god of this contest. I'll be reading all the applications and will decide on who gets to co-own. So no arguing with me. X-D
o2. No whining, begging, or any thing that will elect self-pity for co-owning. I don't even want to see it in the main thread (and Eve does back-read). If anyone does, automatic null and void entrance. This is a fun experience, let's keep it that way.
o3. If you have any questions, please post them in thread. I'm sure many of the others have the same one or would like to see the answers.
o4. No gifting the Soquili if you win. I'm grading your style, not your friends when you enter. If they want a Soquili, direct them to the contest!
o5. And lastly, follow the rules of the shop and the rules and ToS of Gaia.

⊰Prompts⊱

There are three prompts that you can use to answer. To make it easier for me to decide, I'd like for you to pick only one and you may only edit if you're making error corrections. Please don't add/delete any sentences, thank you. Please keep god-modding of existing characters down to a minimum.

Prompt: -whatever number-

-insert prompt-

Thanks to colorists:

Prompt 1
You stumble across a very sad, down in the dirt female Usdia. She hasn’t been alerted to your presence yet, but you can tell she’s been crying. It seems others have been making fun of her for being so small. Write your introduction to this mare Usdia and if you try to cheer her up or not. You are welcome to write some of the reactions to this NPC.

Prompt 2
You see a really wicked looking foal. He has great bat like wings, curved horns, and you think you spy some very sharp teeth. He seems to be hunting for food. You’ll need to be careful around this one or you could end up as his meal. How are you feeling and how do you escape unnoticed?

Prompt 3
Candy apples: Discuss
Prompt curtseys of Sayuri_Nitta

A little more information about Madhu.

  • First, his name is an Indian name (not Native American). It is a neuter name.
"From Sanskrit मधु (madhu) meaning "sweet, honey". This is another name of Chaitra, the first month of the Hindu year (which occurs in March and April)." [cited]

  • His roleplay color is candy apple red - #FF0800.

  • The feathers on his cert are actually a red hawk's feathers.

  • His Youthful temper was picked because he is based off candy apples, a common sweet during the fall.

As co-owner you will get sig rights, full roleplay rights, and full breeding rights. Should you ever wish to leave Soquili the contract will be null and void, meaning full rights will return to myself.

If there are no entries by the 26th I'm going to open this to the shop's definition of newb with a new extension date that will be announced.
Soquili
The shop has adopted the following as it's official newbie designation "Owns two or less Soquili, counting solo owns as 1, co-owns as 0.5. Familiars do not count."

I have a quick question.
What do I post for the 'thanks to colorist' section? Or do I not post anything there?

Madhu had just finished taking his morning stroll to the babbling brook and was returning to the woodlands with a displeased expression. The brook had decided to speak in riddles without ever explaining itself. Usually this wouldn’t faze Madhu, but right now he felt oddly irked and irritated. The young stallion lifted his head and gazed up at the sunlight that pierced through the tight branches of the canopy overhead. The corners of his lips curving into a faint smile as his eyes followed the sweet sound of birdsong as the birds fluttered above. Madhu had always taking a liking to the birds because they’d always sing to anyone. Strangers a like could be presented with a song or two and they always sang brightly and cheery in sync to one another.

The smile on his lips blossomed and the annoyed feeling that had ‘poisoned’ his thoughts and fired his blood had faded into nothing. Madhu felt pleasant—like himself. He bobbed his head in rhythm to the birdsong, but suddenly there was and odd sound in the faint breeze. At first the sound had come and gone without Madhu even noticing but now it had gotten awfully louder.

He had paused and with swiveling ears listened. “Please hush my friends,” he glanced up to the birds. “If you could only give me a moment of silence I’d be mug obliged,” he bowed his head. The birds fluttered off and their songs dispersed in the breeze.

But the odd sound hadn’t gone with them. Madhu tilted his head to the side as he looked in the near distance. He saw the lightest of pink figure against the earth with soft sobs coming from its vocals. His ears twitched and his nostrils flared as he kept on looking at the creature. “Oh dear,” Madhu whispered and quickly bounded off to the young female. The closer he came to her more had had realized that she had been crying and it was the sobs that he had heard.

“Why do you cry?” Madhu gently nudged her with his hoof. The young female quickly raised her head, her eyes red, as she had been crying and her expression tired. At first she didn’t say anything with on occasion a few more cries escaping from her dainty vocals.

“They make fun of me. Taunt me until I cry,” she finally said. Her voice shaking as she still wept. “It’s not fair,” she pouted. Madhu’s eyebrows furrow as he looks at her with sorrow. No creature should be treated the way she had been and from what he could tell she had gone through a great deal. There were a couple patches of dirt and dust against her cheekbones and even more all over her body.

“No. It’s not fair,” he pulled his head back.

“They call me Sad Sally,” the female said. “Or they call me Sappy Sally. Oh! And my favorite, the-one-who-cries-all-the-time,” she snuffled.

Madhu sighed as he looked at her. Despite the running tears along her cheekbones there was a beautiful expression just waiting to come out. Madhu was positive about that. “Ignore them,” he said. “I know it might sound harder than said, but give it a try.” Madhu dipped his head down and looked at Sally with a warming smile. “Let me see you smile,” he said as his own blossomed. At first Sally’s smile was lopsided and odd, but maybe that’s what made it so beautiful. He chuckled, tossing back his mane and whinnied in pure delight! Laughter carried out from his vocals as he looked to her again. “That’s wonderful! You should be called Splendidly Sally,” he said. “Because you have a beautiful smile,” he bowed his head.

Her cheeks flushed and the smile seemed to grow because of the compliments. She giggled and nodded her head. Madhu lowered his head and brushed the tears from her eyes with the end of his snout. “Stay positive Sally,” he whispered to her. She nodded her head and stood up. The young female gave a little kiss to his cheekbone and thanked him before walking off. Madhu watched her leave and could’ve sworn that she had been trotting out with song coming from her voice.

He laughed softly, raising his head and noticed that the birds had returned with their own chirping. Madhu was in total bliss.

Thanks to colorists: Manda...?
And a special thank you for holding this contest. :3

At Questline, I had dedicated November the month of thanks because of Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving Day in the US. So I felt this month was a good time to show your thanks to the staff of Soquili. So your thanks was correct.

Since there was only one entry and I don't want to put the little guy through more waiting, Paradox wins co-ownership of Madhu. Congrats! I'll be sending a PM with the link to the co-ownership agreement.
