Well... heh. This is sorta strange to ask, but... how do you tell if a girl is a lesbian? I mean, sure, a total butch is easy enough to figure out, but I'm not into that. And going to Pride festivals works, but it seems like 2/3rds of the people there are romantically involved with someone else, and the rest are with big groups of friends. D":

I also use dating sites, most notably OkCupid, but I have had little luck with them. Either I'm not interested, they're not interested, or we do go on a date, but there's no connection. It's starting to sort of get me down.

So I'm just trying to test the waters some more - namely, looking for ways to tell if a girl is a lesbian, or at least receptive, and also maybe some other good, free dating sites? Any help would be very, very appreciated. :3

Edit: I'm sorry about my siggy being stretched. It just seems to happen in guild forums.

I personaly cant tell but you can always go to like a gay bar or club. But some signs would have to be like rings on the fingers. Usualy a thumb ring. Not all the time though. Also the nails are short. Usualy but again not all the time. Sometimes you can tell by the shoes they wear. Oh also check for rainbows. Lol. Theres also the hair style. Mullet haircuts and hair clipped or shaved close to the head, have been traditional stereotypes for the butch lesbian. This doesn't mean that everyone with the hairstyle is gay, nor does it mean that all lesbians have that type of hairstyle. But then agan there is no way to tell unless you ask. But yea thats all i know.

Alright, thank you. :"D And yeah, I know it's pretty much impossible to tell unless you ask, but I'd just like learning stuff like this - sort of like little mini tips - so that maybe, next time I flirt, the odds will be tilted at least slightly in my favor, haha.

I'd just go for body language, how women look at you, any bodily contact (eg. knee patting/brushing slightly against you). Instead of determining sexual orientation, body language is universal for figuring out if someone's into you or not? There's probably whole chapters in books or websites of stuff! wink

I don't have the ability to pick us out and even my girlfriend I would never even have guessed she were gay if I hadn't met her properly at a Rainbow Youth event (after working next to each other for over a year).
