Her hooves beat the ground as she raced past the hills of her home. She was constantly in the valley... where the grass was sweet and the air was easy to breath. She skidded to a halt at the top of a smallish hill. She tossed her mane and smirked at the sky. She had won their race. She frowned. Stupid clouds...they would simply say that hey hadn't know that there was a race. She flicked her tail. "Stupid Clouds!"

Finally he had managed to slip away from that blasted mare who took care of him. She was a good match for Nameless' need for a loving and mothering mare to be around at all times but the gentle female annoyed the crap out of Carnivore. Why could she not understand that he did not desire to eat that green stuff under their hooves? It tasted horrible and made his stomach ache fiercely. So Carnivore had slipped away from the dreadful little mare in search of a meal of his choosing, and what he wanted above all else was fresh delicious meat. But where to find some when this place was riddled with that retched green stuff for as far as the eye could see.
Eyes darted around for any signs of life that he could snack on. There on that small hill, something brown and white caught his eye. Trotting forward, Carnivore set about stalking his prey. As he approached he realized it was much bigger than he had originally thought, but that was nothing to be concerned about, a challenging hunt was always better than those where the prey was small and didn't fight back. Nearing the top of the hill Carnivores head remained low to the ground, as he weaved to this side and that, snaking his way towards the other horse he looked much like a predatory animal stalking it's prey. The need for blood and flesh filled his senses as he reached the peak and set his eyes upon the spotted mare. Oh yes, she would make a very large snack.

She really couldn't believe what she was seeing. She considered herself a well rounded mare... learned in a good few ways of the world...yet she had never seen a horse...stalk.She could barely keep in the laughter... It would be considered rude to laugh at a perfect stranger.
However...mama didn't raise no chickens...She reared and happily charged forward, clouds completely forgotten. Boring days were made so much more enjoyable when there was company. She halted just a few feet away fromthe black colt and let out a little whinny.
"Wanna play with me?" She smiled. He was just a bit strange... nothing she hadn't seen before.

When the mare turned towards him and raced his way he smirked ever so slightly. It was always more satisfying to hunt the more lively prey and this mare would certainly give him a good fight. It would be a challenge given how much larger she was compared to him but Carnivore was never one to back down from a challenge. Then the mare stopped and asked if he wanted to....play? He tipped to the side and regarded her curiously. Well Carnivore always did enjoy playing with his food but something told him that the play this mare was looking for was not the type of play he was thinking of.
"Carnivore doesn't play." He told her as he began to circle her, looking for the perfect place to strike. His head was still low, ears flattened against his skull and his short tail flicked thoughtfully now and then. Perhaps he could bite her in the tender part of the hind legs thusly partially immobilizing her but still allowing him to torment her and get in a proper kill. Or maybe go for the throat, make it a quick kill since his stomach was begging him for some food. Red eyes surveyed his prey as he pranced about behind her. So much delicious tender flesh, he couldn't resist holding back anymore. Darting in closer Carnivore aimed his sharp teeth at her tender flank, attempting to bite deep and hard.

She watched him with a smile. "Now then... I was asking you not carnivore....i don't know any carnivores... come to think of it..." She shrugged and tipped her head as far back as she could to keep watching him. It wasn't a protection thing... it was more of a...when you talk to some one you look at them...
But then he moved... He dashed out and... and she let out a piercing scream and as his teeth sank deeper into her leg, she sat down, ruining any thoughts he could have possibly had. "Excuse you...I believe that was my leg..." She simply stared at him. Crazy horse...was crazy.

His teeth sank into her flesh and a trickle of blood ran down his throat. The scream she let out was music to his ears and just when he was about to bite her again she moved, causing him to take a step back. He was used to prey running or occasionally fighting back, but when she just sat there and acted so calm about it Carnivore found himself a little disappointed as well as intrigued. He remained behind her, ready to move in again for another bite but held back for a moment. "Carnivore like your leg." He told her with a bob of his head, a hint of blood on his lips.
Giving his head a shake he concentrated back on his meal, he should not be having a conversation with his snack, no he should finish the kill and get on with eating. The taste of blood was still fresh in his mouth and when his eyes fell upon the bite mark on her flank he could feel himself begin to salivate. He moved in for another bite, aiming at the exposed area his previous bite has caused but was a bit more cautious this time as she was alerted to his wants...or so he believed.

She watched him a little closer now. He had bit her. He had bitten her and she was about to let him do it again. The rusty gears in her head started churning. But instead of coming up with the intelligent plan of getting the hell out of there she decided to see what she could do from her seated position. She twitched her ears understanding as he spoke. Third person... thats why it was carnivore... She huffed. "Well its mine... and you can't have it..."
Nodding as she made that decision she stared at the young black horse. He was moving in for another bite... a blind horse could have seen that. She snorted. "If you bite me again... Im going to....to....do something you wouldn't like!" She nodded again.

His teeth had been dangerously close to sinking into her flesh once more when she spoke, threatening to do something if he bit her again. This made him pause, mouth opened teeth aimed to bite but his eyes looked into hers. Why did he not just bite her? He was not afraid of what she would do to him. He pulled his head back a bit, for a moment, ears flattened against his skull in annoyance. "Carnivore is not afraid of you. Carnivore is mighty hunter and you are prey." And a kill like this one would gain him great favor among his coyote brothers.
Enough talk! His nostrils flared in anger and he set about his earlier actions. Teeth aiming for her flank, hoping to do enough damage to possibly immobilize her or at least get a good taste of her flesh and blood. His red eyes glinted with a hint of insanity as he went to bite her, now if she would just let him eat in peace it would be that much better, this whole talking to your food thing was getting a bit out of hand.

She blinked at him. "Well... you shouldn't be... im not planning on eating you or anything... but if you do..." She saw that glint in his eye. "When you bite me again... don't think you will walk away...unscathed. "
Well...she wasn't going to make it easy on him... If she was to be eaten by this little menace of a horse, then she was to be eaten. She would put up a fight. And so when she felt the pain of the male's teeth once more tearing into her flank. She whipped around to aim her own teeth, straight to his ear.

It was all going perfectly, why she was sitting there unmoving, almost allowing him to bite her at this point. Sure it wouldn't be a thrilling kill but still an impressive one given her size. But then something happened. She bit him! Carnivore cried out in pain and pulled his head back, he could feel the blood forming on his ears as he took a few staggering steps backwards. Hoof caught on a rock that jutted out from the ground and before he knew what was going on he was tumbling down the hill.
Sky, earth, sky, earth, sky...blackness. The black yearling lay at the bottom on the hill unmoving save for the rise and fall of his chest. His mind was screaming at him to do something, but it was the voices of both of his personalities speaking at once, their words were garbled, he couldn't make sense of any of it. His muscles refused to move, eyes were held shut, he was on the borderline of unconsciousness, unable to move or speak or do anything.

Niagara stared at him. She hadn't thought she bit hard enough to send him down the hill... Un bidden and unwanted a child rhyme that her mother had told her once, came to mind. Jack and Jill went up a hill....
She trotted to the major rise of the hill to look down. The bite on her back leg ached and so trotting wasn't a graceful feat. She would put her leg down and would wince. Jack fell down and broke his crown.
She pondered the right thing to do... Prey animals usually ran away... Usually put themselves above all others. But he was down there... not moving. She could have killed him... She wasn't trying to. Oh no... Was she going to go to hell for murder? She shivered, the hell horses scared her and she had no will or want to be a part of them. She took a step forward. And jill came tumbling after.
She thought about that statement and then mentally decided. Lying down she rolled. She followed him down rolling. Although. She, being in control of the rolling, reached the end. She lifted her head and watched the world spin. She flicked her ears. Standing she wobbled a bit and once her balance came back. She moved to the Yearling and lowered her head cautiously and nudged him. "Are you...are you alright?"

Nameless groaned slightly as his head pounded for some unknown reason. His eyes were still closed but he could feel something soft and warm press against him and then he heard an unfamiliar voice asking if he was alright? Wait, why was someone else there and why were they asking him if he was alright? Panic gripped him and as much as he didn't want to open his eyes he forced them open and looked upon the brown and white mare that was standing there. Oh god! Nameless scrambled to his hooves as fast as he could and fought to not collapse as the pain in his head became more real. Ears flattened against his skull and his tail tucked in closely to his body.
"Who...who are you? Where am I?" He asked, voice now different than it was earlier, now it was filled with fear and panic and unknowing and he shook from head to tail. He wanted to run away, to escape whatever horrible fate was awaiting him but he could not trust his legs right now, they were barely keeping him upright so running was not an option. Fear was etched across his face, filled his eyes and caused his shaking to grow worse with each possible second. Where was mother when he needed her? She would protect him against this scary mare.

Niagara blinked. Was it a trick? It had to be. This horse had just bitten her not a moment ago. That was why she had to bite him back... she mentally nodded. She spoke with caution. "You fell down the hill." She had introduced herself once and thus didn't feel she needed to again. She gingerly put her hoof back on the ground and winced. It would sting a few days... but it didn't feel like he tore anything too important.
She snorted. She heard the voice change. She frowned. "Come on... Someone..." she couldn't imagine who "..must be looking for you." Carefully very carefully she started back up the hill. He was fine. So he could get on with out er if he wanted to.

He had fallen down the hill? No wonder his head hurt and he could feel a few other sore spots along his body. But...why had he been up on that hill, and what caused him to fall down? Nameless was not a clumsy horse so he couldn't image himself just falling down for no reason whatsoever. He noticed her wince and wondered what was wrong. Immediately he thought maybe he was hurt worse that he had originally through so Nameless glanced over his body real quick but didn't see anything significant, just some dirt and a few blades of grass that clung to his fur.
Her voice snapped him out of his personal inspection and he watched as she began to walk away. Oh my gosh she was hurt! Nameless noticed the cut on her flank. "W-wait!" He called out to her, his legs still refused to do anything but keep him standing there still. "You...you're hurt." His voice was filled with concern and he didn't want her wandering off. Oh if only Ashia were here, she would be able to tend to those wounds. Speaking of Ashia, he now realized that the small mare was no where around him and a deeper panic began to set in. Nameless hated being separated from that kind mare. It must have been him that had forced him away. Nameless knew that another occasionally took over his body and that other one disliked the kind mare that was raising him. Was it possible that he had also hurt this mare before him now? Oh dear he hoped not, for he would feel terribly bad if that were the case.

She stared at the young horse as if he had totally lost his marbles. "Yes... Im hurt." She snorted at the male. She stumbled slightly. "So...is there someone who would be looking for you? If so... Lets get you back there..." She continued up the hill again.
