Niagara stared out at the landscape. She had watched the sun come up and she watched the sun rise and she had stayed there for the majority of the morning. Yawning she quickly glanced around. Was it already getting to be about noon? She looked around to notice that the sun was high over head. She smiled. And now it was time to find something to do. She turned and scoured the land. "Something to do..." She trotted lightly across the green of the field. "Hello~ Anybody here?"

Unlike the mare, HollowStep had something to do, but was unfortunately never able to accomplish it.

Getting rid of mares was harder than it seemed. For one, StormSong and RavenLight were particularly stubborn about being his travel companions, for no particular reason other than to have an excuse to leave their herd - and in the latter's case be a self-titled guide. Hollow wasn't blind per se, but ever since the incident he had found that for some reason things in the distance were a little . . . fuzzy.

Hence why he had thought the brown figure ahead was some sort of boulder. It was only when he spotted white and found that the rock could speak that the stallion found himself near . . . Oh gods dammit, another mare.

And a bored one apparently.

Pretending he had neither seen nor heard her, Hollow Step turned his head down and began to pick at the offered grass to satiate some hunger. There wasn't many to be found that was tasty now with the cold.

Niagara saw him... her new play thing.

She pricked her ears in the coming stallion's direction... He was walking toward her. She would wait until he came right to her... She frowned. He stopped... well, that was unacceptable... she had called out... and he hadn't answered... so maybe he hadn't seen her?

She smirked. Alright, she would go to him. Trotting carefully down the hill she stopped about a foot away. She huffed. "Hello-oh" She flicked her tail. "Would you like to amuse me?"

He snorted. Of course. Wrong field, wrong day, wrong time. Why was it that any time he tried to do anything on his own, karma found a way to make it more bothersome for him? He wanted to eat in peace, and what does karma do but grant him and even nosier female than either of the ones he was in company with. And probably about as demanding.

"Not amusing."

Simple as that, or so he hoped. Hollow had no patience to deal with this mare and hoped she got the message as he continued to hear grass. He wasn't as active as he once was and suspected right off the bat that even if he wanted to play (which had as high a chance as a snowball surviving hell at the moment), he wouldn't want to do so with a stranger this eager. Plus, well . . . Hollow just wasn't an amusing horse. He was actually kinda of boring on his own, but gods knew that didn't stop certain horses.

She twisted her ears back and forth. "Wait? Your not amusing? or are you making a snap judgment about me... how do you know that I'm not amusing? Huh?" She flicked her tail and cocked her head.

Niagara stamped her foot. "Well...which is it... If you think i can't amuse you then you are simply mistaken..." She flicked her tail again. She waited. "You did come here because i called... right?"

She wasn't naturally a rude horse... but, she didn't do well with people simply ignoring her either...

Apparently this one didn't appreciate meaning in succinct sentences. Perfect.

Hollow tossed his head a little and snorted at her reasoning. "No," he said, flat as can be. "I came to graze in peace." If the gods were going to force feed him some sort of punishment for trying to abandon his travel companions, fine. He could handle it, and buck a little at the reins while doing so. Not that he had any personal grudge against this mare, but . . . well, he wasn't a good-tempered horse was all. And who would be, losing what he did? He wondered a little if this was why he was usually terse with females . . . Hmm.

But he said he was here to eat, and so he did. But despite his obstinate stance, Hollow's ears did remain pricked in her direction as he nibbled on sparse hairs of grass, as if he just knew this girl was going to be talking regardless and that if he didn't listen, something worse was going to happen. She had to be calling for a reason, yes?

Niagara liked to talk. It was in her nature.... and she was raised to tell what was on her mind. And now... now he wanted peace. She would have laughed if he wasn't so infuriating... She should have laughed... instead she huffed.

She rolled her eyes... Perfect. "Then...then you came to the wrong place.... so...so" She puffed her self up. She was a draft mix... big boned but long-legged. She huffed again for good measure. "...Leave! This is my Valley! " She snorted. This was her valley, she stayed her constantly never seeing others... but now he had trespassed.

See? He knew it. What he didn't know was that last bit.

But Hollow took his time before answering, enjoying the sweet-tasting grass as he chewed and chewed, purposefully inflicting more reason for her to be annoyed with him. And then he eventually swallowed before . . . grazing some more. Equally slow. Hollow was a hungry horse, and no delusionally territorial mare was going to separate his stomach from food.

Two bites later he did lift his head to give her a Brow Quirk of Doubt, his eyes mostly shaded by shaggy hair. "Not it's not," he retorted with all the eloquence of a foal. "Unless you have a herd here. Even then, land doesn't belong to us; we just use it."

She stamped her foot. Where did he get off! She was seriously debating just backing down and letting him continue to eat. She frowned. That wasn't at all like her though... She was spunky and she liked to cause horses to loose their comfort.

Instead of storming out... she stood there glaring. "No!" She frowned deeper."Horses can own land..." She nodded. It was a very indian thought that the land didn't belong to anyone. She had grown up alone... cherishing anything that she could call her own.. And even though it didn't say her name on it she had claimed that this meadow was her own.

She stamped her foot once more. "Its mine... because i say it is!" She nodded. Her voice had taken on a defiant tone.
