Orpheus was reading over the information that he had on his clip board and he gave a bit of a smile. With DNA like this there were plenty of skills that she could learn and do pretty good at he thought to himself. In fact since the list was rather long it was tough to decide what he wanted to teach her. After a while he'd decided to do a class similar to the one he'd done with another of students named Saedah, the one where his student would sniff out several targets that were hidden around one of the terrain rooms. He'd decided upon using the field one, it as full with tall grass to hide the various 'targets' in.
Some time later the class was set up and he was waiting just outside of the door for his student to arrive. He had sent a note to the girl and her guardian from the time, the place, and the floor that the class was being held. Now he only had to wait.

It had taken the pair a bit of time to arrive to the class mostly because the two had gotten just a little lost trying to find the room the class was being held but they made it -- eventually. Valeri opened the door and gently ushered his daughter in and he limped after her when she skipped on into the classroom with a happy sound, "We found it!" she said happily as she gave a quick look around the room before her eyes landed upon the other figure within it. She raised a hand and beamed, "Hiii! I'm Miranda!"
Valeri stood a few feet away and chuckled a bit, "Hi, sorry we're late, is it alright if I just hang back and observe? I won't get in the way," he promised as he shifted his weight a little to take more pressure off of his troubled leg. "Oh, er...I'm Valeri Stark - her guardian," he added as an afterthought for introduction. He wasn't sure if it was a needed thing but still. If he was told to leave for a bit he would, he'd find things to do somewhere until his daughter was done with class.

Orpheus turned when he heard a happy voice call out to him before he gave a smile, "Hello and welcome to class, Miranda." He greeted the girl before he walked over toward her, giving her a smile before looking up at the one that came in with her, nodding to him, "Its quite alright, the way I see it your not really late for a class when it can't start without you. That is something that applies only to me though, some of the other teachers here can be a bit more strict." Just a friendly warning as he knew there were few teachers that were as laid back as he was when he came to such things.
"As for hanging around that is alright with me, I normally ask if the parents want to stay and watch, especially with the first of the skills classes." Since the children were younger it sometime helped them to focus and not be worried by having their parent nearby, "Its nice to meet you Valeri, my name is Orpheus Solon, I am in charge of Skills here. Anything from climbing to flying to swimming I am the one that teaches it."
His attention turned to Miranda and he gave her a smile, "For you we are going to be playing a tracking game, how does that sound?" He asked of her.

Miranda beamed happily up at the man that was to be her teacher and nodded simply. The moment she heard that she was going to a class she'd become terribly excited and wanted to go straight away - or at least as soon as possible so of course she was now curious as to her surroundings and now seemed absorbed with looking around and making small curious 'oooh' sounds. Obviously, Miranda was easily impressed.
Valeri nodded his head a bit, "I'll make sure to keep that in mind for other classes she might take part in. Not that I can promise anything in the future," he man laughed a bit. He leaned a bit on his cane and smiled lightly, "Pleased to meet you Mr. Solon, thank you for being so patient and understanding. Is there anywhere I may have a seat so I won't be in the way?"
The small girl caught on to the tail-end of what Orpheus was explaining, "You can fly?" she asked with wide red-pink eyes. Miranda shifted from one foot to the other and then her eyes seemed - if possible - to widen, "Ye'th! I like game'th!"

Orpheus looked around for a moment at the terrain room then nodded, "Ahh, feel free to sit anywhere, or you can lean against the wall." He suggested then laughed, "These classrooms are all natural so they don't really have anywhere to sit then among the grass." At least this one was all grassy, the others were different but this was the one he'd picked for this particular student and this particular class.
He turned his attention back to Miranda then smiled, "I wish I could fly, a lot of those classes I get the help of my son since he has wings." He explained, as he moved to scoop up a multicolored, cloth pouch from the ground and held it up for Miranda to see, "Alright, the start of the game is right here!" He told her, rather liking this game since it was one that was both fun and fairly easy, without risk of any harm coming to his students, "Just reach into the bag and you will find one of four colorful, plush spheres that is marked with a random scent of perfume. Each ball has a twin which is hidden somewhere in the room among the grass, your job is to hunt it down by the scent of it. You need to do it four times, one for each scent in the bag, and you pass! Sound fun?"

Valeri laughed a bit and nodded in understanding, "I'll take a lean, thanks." he murmured as he patted his daughter on the head and then moved to lean against a wall somewhere out of the way so student and teacher can interact without her getting distracted by the presence of her parent.
Miranda giggled at the pat on the head and quietly smooth her hair before she listened to Orpheus respond to her question and let out a soft, "Oooh. I th'ee. Okay! Your th'on th'ound'th neat!" Someone with wings? That sounded pretty neat indeed! She hadn't met anyone with wings yet as far as she could recall right away. She even tried to recall if she met anyone with wings and drew a blank...Hm! She watched her teacher pull out some plush spheres for her to see and she already could smell the scent coming off of them. Miranda listened to the explanation of the game and then nodded, "Ye'th! It i'th like hide and th'eek! Only they can't run from you!"
Though the idea of a fleeing sphere with tiny legs was amusing...Miranda uttered a small giggle as the mental image flashed up in her mind.

Orpheus gave a chuckle, "Yeah, its exactly like that." He said, glad to see that she seemed to think that the game would be a fun one. He put the spheres back into the bag, shook it up, then held it out to her again, "Alright, reach in and pick out the first one that you want to chase after." He told her, giving a smile. This was a class that he did often and always had fun with it, it was always fun to see how the kids did at finding the various spheres that were hidden out there, and Miranda would be no exception. That she was going to find fun with the class made it that much better to the teacher.
"For this class there is no time limit, better that you get the right match instead of worrying about doing it really quickly and maybe making a mistake." He added, so that she knew that he wasn't going to rush her to find what she was looking for.

The small girl beamed up at her teacher happily as he gave a chuckle and then waited as the bag was shaken up and then offered out to her. She set out her own set of rules meaning she wouldn't sniff or look for a specific color so instead she pointed her eyes upward and away as she reached in and grasped a sphere to pluck from the bag she even seemed to be holding her breath a bit until she got one out and then stared down at it with a bit of a curious expression.
She looked up at Orpheus as he explained that there was no time limit and that she shouldn't be scared of making a mistake. Miranda gave a small nod and then stared down at the sphere before she moved to give it a small sniff to see the scent of it. Miranda then looked around for a moment, "I can go look for it now?"

Orpheus gave a smile as the girl averted her eyes while she was picking out the sphere, then, once she'd had her pick in hand, sniffed at it, "Yes, feel free to start any time your ready." He told her, giving the clock a little glance only to keep track of how long it took for her to find the hidden balls. There was no time limit but he was also curious, to see if she got quicker as she went along and as she got used to the lay out of the room and the skill of scenting out what she was looking for. The teacher was quite interested in the results as well as the results of a child with rodent DNA verus that of a child with serpent DNA. More stuff that wasn't attached to her grade of course, just his curiosity.

Miranda uttered a small happy squeak as she then turned and started looking for the twin of the sphere she had chosen. Every now and then she'd sniff the sphere then at the air and start wandering toward the smell as best as she could. At one part she had gotten confused and went the wrong way for a bit before she rescented the sphere again and then got herself back on track. Sometimes the tall grass got in the line of her scent causing her confusion but once she was adjusted she was easily able to find the twin to her sphere even held it up over head triumphantly and calling out a little melody in a cheerful tone before she hurried back to her teacher.
"I do good?" She asked cheerfully as she held up the two spheres to him with an excited expression.

Orpheus watched as Miranda waded her way through the tall grass, something that he couldn't help but to smile about. The grass didn't seem to tall compared to him, only up to his knees, but for the smaller students it was far taller. The little rat girl was doing her best though, moving through it, sniffing around, and after a time he saw her hand lift up over the grass holding the sphere that she was looking for.
A moment later she came over to him with the two of them held up to him and it reached out to take them from her, "Very good job Miranda!" He praised her before setting them on the ground next to his feet, "I will keep these here with me and you can pick out the next one you want to search for out of the bag." With that held it out to her again so that she could pick out the next one that she was going to hunt down. He always liked this class, it was fun to watch the students use their natural senses to hunt down the different scents that he hid around the classroom, having to match the one that they picked with the ones out in the classroom. Always a fun class.

She beamed happily at the praise that was showered on her and she let out a small happy squeaking sound when the bag was presented to her. This time she didn't hesitate as she reached in and grasped the next sphere and gave it a few times before she turned and went to search for it.
Miranda would pause, sniff, and then sniff the air around her before she would wander further forward in search of the sphere's matching scent. After a moment or two she found the matching sphere and she wandered up to her teacher offering the spheres up to him proudly and beaming.
"Almo'th't got away'th from me!" She giggled softly as she awaited her teacher's next bits of wisdom.

"Good job! Two down and two left to go." He said as she reappeared with the second matched set in hand, "You are doing quite well, I am quite impressed with how well your doing at this. Ready for the next one?" He asked of her, one of the two left in there was one of the ones that was hidden the farthest from where he was standing but he was sure that she would be able to do it, having complete faith in the girl.
He held out his hand so that she could give him the pair that she had found then held the bag out once more for her to take, "After this you will have only one more to find to pass the class." He said, sure that she would be able to do it since she was putting so much into the class.
