Firewyld is a wild spirit who refuses to be tamed by those he deems unworthy of his strength. Though he is a Native horse, he puts little trust in humans in general, and obeys only the select few he has befriended. When he isn't needed by the humans, he often wanders the land that he loves. There isn't anything quite as special to Firewyld as running through the trees or across the plains, feeling the wind brushing through his mane. Usually, when he meets other horses, he is courteous and polite to them, even if they are from an enemy herd. Despite his independent nature, Firewyld enjoys meeting new horses, and he believes that all horses should be respected no matter who they are.
When he was a much younger stallion, he used to be the warhorse of a very influential man, and they would always travel together. Now he is sometimes seen with the man's young grandson, simply known as Wolf Paw. He is a strange but unimposing 12-year old boy, who is said to have been born with the power of the wolves.

Golden Sunrise is a confident mare that hasn't let her disability affect her life. She is a very sweet girl who cares about all living things, no matter how small. However, she can have a fiery temper when provoked. She cannot stand seeing other creatures get hurt, so she will go out of her way to protect them, even if it means putting herself at risk. Normally, she gets along well with both horses and humans, but if she sees someone harm an innocent or helpless being without reason, she will never forgive them. Golden Sunrise also has strong motherly instincts. She adores young foals and doesn't mind being asked to watch them for a tired parent. Most of the time, Sunny is altruistic and helpful, almost to a fault.
Though she cannot remember exactly how she lost her leg, she remembers that she was born in the Native herd, and cared for by the humans. It wasn't until she was a yearling that she had started wandering farther and farther away from the humans, until she came across the Cimarron herd, and adopted a life in the wilderness. She still returns to the herd occasionally to visit her mate, Cheveyo.

Details
Dark and depressed, Rasyth struggles to see any good in the world. To him life is about suffering and heartbreak, and about fending for yourself, because no one else can be trusted. Mainly he comes off as miserable, and he will spend hours talking about the negativity he sees in the world, or dwelling on some kind of imagined personal pain. He can also become quite angry when things aren't going his way, or when he is faced with someone who refuses to agree with his pessimistic view of things. Rasyth seems to actively despise other horses, particularly mares. It is very hard for others to form friendly relationships with him. The selfish Rasyth would never voluntarily help someone if they are in trouble. He is too obsessed by what he perceives as his own problems to help out or to find friendship in someone.
When Rasyth was no more than a yearling he fell in love with a young filly. She was beautiful and intelligent and he became completely captivated by her. One day in spring he admitted his feelings to her, and she agreed to meet him by the lake that evening. But it was a trick, and instead of finding her there, he was surrounded by many of the other colts in the herd. The ring leader told Ras that the filly set him up, that they were already a couple and that she had no interest in Rasyth whatsoever. The others chased Ras away and left him battered and alone in the forest.
From that day on he became a wanderer, his hate and hurt turning him into a pessimistic, self-pitying creature. The only horse he seems fond of is his mate, Fire's Light, and even then he doesn't express it.

Details
A bubbly, playful mare, Tien likes to use her powers to play tricks on others. She likes the thrill of planning a trick and seeing the look of surprise on someone's face. However, her past has taught her not to let her games get too out of control and they are usually small and harmless. When she isn't too busy goofing around she is quite friendly to everyone she meets, including those that give her a hostile reception. She isn't afraid of being attacked because she cannot die, and she can just turn transparent to escape anyways. The only thing she really avoids is getting into a romantic relationship, because she doesn't know how she would handle it. She feels immense guilt for the tricks she played on young males when she was young.
Even when she was just a filly Tien was a beauty to behold, and she used it to her advantage. She had the colts wrapped around her little hoof, and the other fillies couldn't do anything about it. But Tien became greedy and out of control. One spring a fellow yearling admitted that he had feelings for her. She agreed to meet him somewhere but it was all just a set-up. At the time she was in a relationship with the top colt in the herd. She organized an attack on him to teach him a lesson. She didn't care for nosy nobodies, after all.
When she was older her manipulation caught up with her. She had convinced not just one, but three powerful stallions that she was in love with them, so that they would protect her and care for her. However, two of the stallions were friends and they quickly discovered her plot. When she was wandering along the canyon one night they surrounded her, much like the colts had surrounded the poor colt she set up long ago. In fear she ran and stumbled right off the cliff.
But Tien didn't die in a normal sense. She became something like a ghost with limitations. She can turn almost invisible and pass through solid objects, but she cannot fly, only hover a few inches above the ground. Usually she stays in her corporeal form unless she is trying to be stealthy. Her odd half-alive state is her punishment for her cruelty and lies.

Some of the things that come out of Birdhouse's mouth are odd. She says exactly what she thinks without considering how others might take it, which can get her into trouble sometimes. She is quite the eccentric character, so more often than not it's hard to understand what she is talking about. She also does some strange things, like listening to tree trunks and eating butterflies. Although she may come across as weird, she's just following what she believes. Her beliefs include that there are hidden things in the world that are waiting to be discovered and that one's personal perception of life changes reality. Because her perception tends to be skewed, her reality doesn't always mesh well with others. Yet she is friendly, kind, and she won't argue with someone if they disagree with her.
Birdhouse's past is shrouded in mystery. She doesn't even remember where she came from or how she got to the Riverbend herd.

'Ladylike' is not in Sadie's vocabulary. She is very much one of the guys, unafraid to roughhouse and get dirty. Sadie's not the type to sugar coat things, either. She can be blunt and she is prone to blurting out her thoughts without thinking, often using some colourful language in the process. If she hurts someone's feelings, too bad. To her, everyone should be able to handle the honest truth without getting upset. That does not mean she doesn't lie, however. She can lie quite well, and enjoys causing trouble too. Sadie isn't against lying, cheating, and stealing to get what she wants. She is so selfish, she would betray a good friend just to get a shiny trinket.
Though her father is the lead of the Cimarron herd and she is a part of it, she doesn't really get involved with herd affairs. She grew up there, but once she reached adulthood she began to wander, only returning to the herd to visit her family.
Sadie sometimes speaks in a similar way to her mother.

Fariel comes off as a pretty average stallion. When others meet him for the first time, he seems friendly enough and he does not seem to have any unusual personality quirks. It isn't until he is pushed into feeling a strong emotion that his problems come through. He is very sensitive to the emotions of others and tends to get lost in the feelings. If he gets too excited or upset, he loses almost all control of himself, and is completely at the mercy of his emotions. Once he loses control he won't stop until he is overwhelmed by exhaustion. Fariel is aware of his problems, and as a preventative measure, he lives by himself in the forest. He dreams of having his own family someday, but as long as there is the risk of losing control, Fariel would rather be alone.
As a foal, Fariel liked to follow his father around even though Rasyth never gave him the affection he seeked. Often he found himself lost and alone after Rasyth had forgotten him somewhere.
As an adult, Fariel is not fond of his father, and would rather avoid him.

Ignis may have fiery hooves, but he is very calm and in control. There is very little that can truly make him angry, but that also makes him very dangerous, because his emotions do not affect his thought process. He is a hateful stallion who dislikes much of the things he sees in the world. He believes that others see the world through a cloud, and that people who think the world is nothing but rainbows and butterflies are downright stupid. Ignis has brought it upon himself to 'teach' them that the world is harsh, often by punishing them in some way. Although he likes to use words and pain as punishment, he never goes as far as to kill someone because he feels that leaving them to suffer is better than relieving them of it through death. The only time he gets along with someone is if they are part of his family, or think a lot like him. Even a demonic horse isn't free from his judgment. Species doesn't matter to him, only beliefs.
Ignis spends his time wandering the land, mostly keeping to himself. He occasionally visits the herd he is technically a part of.

As bright as Malaika's dragonfly Beacon may be, Mal certainly isn't. Mal is on the ditzy side and deep thought is not her strong suit. The only thing she really thinks about is her mane, which must be perfectly clean and neat if she is to be happy. Mostly she acts on impulse depending on how she is feeling. On a good day she will be very happy and adventurous, but on a bad day she will stay put and possibly mope about something often insignificant that is bothering her. Malaika's always in the mood to make a new friend, however. She is a very social mare and she loves chatting with other horses. Flattery goes a long way with Malaika, and anyone who compliments her will be showered with affection.
As a foal Malaika met a bright pink stallion that both captivated and intrigued her. She developed a bit of a 'crush' on him, and started following him around until he disappeared from the herdlands once again. Saddened, she dreamed that she would grow up into a beautiful mare and find him again. It was a prince and princess story in her mind, and when she was full grown, she left her home to search for him.
With the help of her sister, Vena, she tracked down the stallion from her foalhood to tell him of her love. But the stallion Fariel didn't recognize her. He held no ill will towards her, but when they parted, Malaika felt heartbroken. She had spent most of her life dreaming that they would be together, just to find out that she was wrong. Feeling lost, Malaika mindlessly wandered further from her family and herd. It was only by chance that she was discovered by Thurl, a young stallion from the Cimarron herd. Concerned for her safety, he offered to escort her back home. At first she was reluctant to talk to the stallion, but by the time they finished their journey, their relationship was blossoming into love.
Currently, Malaika tends to stay near her family home, unless she has gone to meet Thurl. She and her mate take turns traveling to visit each other.

A curious, creative stallion, Thurl is always up to something. He has a sense of adventure and an eagerness to learn about the world much like a foal. He may be wild but sometimes he travels with the humans and studies their way of life. He also likes watching the other creatures of the forest, including dangerous ones, so he has learned to be very quiet and observant of the body language of others. Thurl is rarely taken by surprise when he can read someone's expression well enough to guess what they are thinking. When one first meets him he seems like a naive stallion who needs to grow up, but once one gets to know him it's obvious he is a caring, intelligent individual.
Thurl was born and raised in the Cimarron herd. He is very loyal to his herd and his wild lifestyle, but occasionally the stallion feels the urge to go wandering.
Once on his travels, he ran into a mare that seemed troubled and lost. Concerned, he asked her where she was from and then offered to escort her back to the Riverbend herd. At first the mare didn't seem to want him around, which discouraged him, but she quickly started to warm up to him. They found a common interest of adventure, and Thurl enjoyed teaching her about the things that they passed, while her curiosity seemed boundless and refreshing. It wasn't long until both horses realized that they were falling in love with one another. When their journey finally came to an end, they both decided to continue seeing each other.
When he isn't with his herd or on a personal adventure, Thurl is out visiting his mate Malaika in the Riverbend herd.

Comet is vain for a unicorn, and she is very proud of her polished spiral horn and graceful tail. She tends to keep to herself, but if there are others around she may engage in a conversation. Comet usually likes to listen to the things around her instead of sharing her thoughts. Though she is usually sweet and friendly in her own way, if anyone says or does anything against her or her loved ones, her mood can change in an instant. She's very quick to judge and might even resort to violence if she feels threatened. Comet's rashness is her biggest fault, though she is gradually learning to control herself.
Comet was raised in a warm loving environment free from harm. She doesn't know any kind of pain or hardship.

Free-spirited and relaxed, there is little in the world that Nitrous worries about. He is very much a 'go with the the flow' kind of stallion. He also has a particular love of nature and life in general, and thinks that others should forget their worries and concentrate on loving life. If he runs into someone who doesn't share his joy, he will try to convince them to see is way, even if it takes a lot of arguing to get his point across. Nitrous wouldn't hurt a fly because of his beliefs. If he is attacked, he wouldn't fight back in fear of hurting his attacker.
Nitrous and his full siblings were born after a one-night stand. His mother was too busy going out and having fun to raise him, so his father was in charge of him most of the time. However, he rarely listened to his father and practically raised himself. He inherited some of his mother's traits.

Petrar's mind is more than just a little unstable. Her wild mood swings are one of the many signs that show she is completely and utterly deranged. One minute she could be smiling, happy, and seem completely normal; the next she might be on a crazy rant, or in an insane, unstoppable rage. She really doesn't care about anyone else or what they think of her. Petrar also has an abnormal love for pain. She likes to hurt innocents just to hear them cry. She even enjoys her own pain and she giggles as she is being hurt when others might be screaming. However, Petrar rarely inflicts fatal wounds unless she is in one of her bouts of insane anger. She prefers to keep victims alive in order to toy with them.
As a youngster, Petrar's father brainwashed her and abused her for being female. She despises her father so much that any mention of him makes her angry, but she still believes in the things that she was taught. Petrar wishes to create a family that will rule over the land, since she thinks it's the destiny of her bloodline.
She never knew her mother, but she has heard whispers that she was Petrar's own aunt.
