(Brownie points if anyone knows the title. <3)
The glass door clicked softly in the fading daylight. The silver haired woman pocketed the key she used to lock the shop in her purse, hanging off one bare shoulder. She always closed it up a bit after supper. Most of the orders and customers came during the light. And this also gave her time to work on the special, custom orders after she went home. Today there had only been two. When not near holidays, this was an average day. Christmas was coming near, however. Boyfriends, fiancees, and husbands would be coming in soon to pre-order gifts for their women. That's when the fun would start. When the amount of customs a day rose to 10 or even 20.
Prisca turned her back on the shop and shifted the shawl so it covered her bare shoulders. She didn't really want to go home, yet. It was still early. The cafes and restaurants would still be open. She wasn't hungry, but a cup of tea or cappuccino would be nice.
She took a few steps away from her jewelery store and glanced both ways down the street. Question was, where did she go? Since she wasn't really hungry, she wouldn't pay a visit to Reversed. Once she was inside a shop, she might want a muffin. Not a full meal.
"Cafe it is," she smiled to herself, crossing the street to make her way to the nearest one, her heels clicking on the pavement.
Being after supper, the line wasn't as large as she would expect during supper. After ordering a french vanilla cappuccino with a blueberry muffin, she settled down at a booth in a corner. Away from watching eyes. From her seat, she could see everyone else in the shop. Her long, purple tail made a curl around one foot and her chair, sitting on the edge of her chair under her dress so she wasn't sitting uncomfortably on it. It attracted less attention this way. Crossing one leg over the other, she sipped her cap while breaking off pieces of the muffin to eat. Always the lady.

( I want to say Star Wars... But now I'm not sure if that gets a brownie. XD )
Xero looked up at the multicolored sky. Reds were already mixing and fading away into the dark blue of the oncoming night. It would be about time to retire to the hills for another meditation. Today had proven to be no more successful than the last day or the day before that. People just don't vanish... so why was she not coming up?
His fists tightened for a moment than released creating a small burst of shadow energy. Small dark purple bolts danced around his fingers than faded to nothing before repeating their cycle. It was something he started doing only a few days ago when get grew frustrated. It was the human equivalent to hair twisting or fidgeting. Xero never was aware when he started to do it nor payed any mind to it...
His tail flicked behind him as he focused back on the streets. Mostly empty, most were probably just finishing up dinner, or at some evening engagement. It wouldn't be long before the night goers begun to show up. Xero looked back up to the sky. It would be easier to just fly to the hill, but- he looked back down the quiet street.-walking seemed more comforting at the moment.
Xero continued down the street ignoring the large windows of the shops he passed by. He was focused on the road ahead of him, so much he almost seemed to be in a dream to others. His snake slit-like pupils were so narrow the indigo color in his eyes were quite vibrant. Some of the people who were in the street quickly moved to the other side to avoid coming too close.
"...?" Xero stopped suddenly when he passed the window of a small cafe. That feel? Mew? No... could it be her?
Xero looked into the window quickly. Unfortunately one of the very husky employees was conveniently placed in between Xero's line of sight and what was creating such a familiar mental link. "hm..." He hummed quietly. Was it worth investigating? Everything inside of him was screaming yes, but after the new day of disappointment he instead shook his head and pressed forward mentally cursing his mind for playing such tricks.

(Nope. But if it's said in there, sure. <3 It's The Last Unicorn. When the Unicorn is freed from her cage and goes to free the Harpy. Quote is actually "We are sisters, you and I." No idea why I thought of it.
Oooh. Xero. Can't get away that easily. <3)
Popping the last bit of muffin in her mouth, Prisca eyed a young man entering the cafe. He looked about 21, probably just got off work. She remembered him from earlier in the day. He had come in to order a simple locket necklace for his mother for her birthday. After it was pocketed safely in his coat, he had stayed for a few minutes to attempt to flirt with her. Since she was working, she hadn't been in the mood to even get a little amusement from flirting back, even if he was just a human.
With one large gulp, she downed the last of the cap, picked up her purse, and silently got up from her table. Fortunately, he hadn't seen her. His back was to her as he ordered something from the counter. She didn't feel like playing with the humans tonight. Their reactions really were funny.
Depositing the empty cup into the trash, she exited the building and turned back the way she had come, where her car was parked. Her heels only got a chance to make one click before a familiar feeling washed over her keen Pokemon senses. Mew, of course, was the first thought in her mind. But couldn't be. It was stronger than the sensations she got from the DNA while in the test tubes. More like...
Turning around quickly, she took a few steps in the opposite direction she had intended. Not quite knowing what to shout out to get the others attention, she opted for a plain," Hey, you!" loud enough to be heard halfway down the street. Her tail dragged on the ground, curled around her one outstretched foot.

(( At some point most likely. I think I remember hearing it in the TV series. XD It's been so long since I've seen "The Last Unicorn". ))
Xero paused mid-step. Usually he would have kept moving, but that same familiar feeling seemed to be standing behind him. His bows furrowed as he turned around to meet this strange being. He wasn't found of tricks.
"...What-" Xero all but hissed as he turned. However his cold tone was abruptly cut off by what he saw. A-another experiment? His eyes narrowed on the, admittedly, gorgeous being before him. That hail and those horns were unmistakable, she was another mewtwo. He felt slightly sickened at the thought. Another experiment had gone on under his nose. No doubt the same story as before. Greedy humans....
For a moment his ancient rage resurfaced. Small black bolts crawled from his fingers to his wrist than vanished as quickly as they had appeared. This was a very curious situation.

(My favorite movie. <3)
One heel clicked softly on the pavement as the woman backed up one step at the hostile movement. Even if she were still a Pokemon, she knew her level to be much weaker then this one. She even had to learn Psychic by TM instead of waiting to learn it naturally. Now she was stuck with her moves. She wished she had at least learned Recover.
Her tail slid along the ground like snake until it stood erect behind her, curled at the end in typical fashion. She so enjoyed the ability to move it around easier in this form. Putting her hands up in a defensive gesture of peace, the shawl falling to hang off the arch of her elbows, the woman decided to take a chance and take one step closer, again. "I mean no harm," she said gently, her lips changing into an awkward smile. "Not like I could do you much harm, I'm sure." She took another set, bold as always. "Should have expected that reaction."

Xero took a deep breath. On the exhale a stream of black aura trailed from his breath. From the corner of his eye he saw the red cloth wrapped around his wrist. No more rage... peace of mind.
"Apologies miss... I mean you no harm either." He lowered his head in a respectful and apologetic bow. His long hair obscured his face just slightly. "Your appearance has startled me. I thought I was the only one..."
Xero's tail curled around his legs as his posture returned to normal. His mind now swam with questions. She had admitted not being as experienced... how old was she? How did she get here? Who was responsible for this experiment and what was her purpose? Xero could only hope it was a good upbringing or for a good purpose. He doubted it, but he still hoped.

Prisca lowered her arms to hitch the shawl back over her bare shoulders, feeling the coming chill of the night. She admitted the sight of the coming attack had scared her and had readied the muscles in her legs to make a jump for it out of the way. Now sensing it was more of a reflex, she relaxed, letting one arm rest at her side while the other held the strap of her purse on her shoulder. Her tail, however, stayed erect just behind her head. More out of habit than expecting another attack.
"Afraid not," she shrugged, giving a nervous laugh. She'd never once in her lifetime thought she'd come face to face with the same Mewtwo from the stories she had heard so much about. He was even spoken of more than the regular Legends. Which made sense. They had breeding populations, at least. They were rare, but certainly not enough to leave one or even four alive at one time.
The woman took a few seconds to look up at the sky and down both sides of the street. It was steadily getting darker. Colder. And there was also that man in the cafe she'd like to avoid...
"Okay. We both have many questions to ask, so follow me." Beckoning once with her finger, she turned on her heel and walked back to the jewelery shop. It was only a few stores away from the cafe she was just in. She knew he'd follow.
Taking the key out of her purse, she unlocked the door and held it open.

Afraid not was right. Xero had heard nothing about it, so perhaps it wasn't as bad as his own story. He had heard many times of his 'legend'. The heartless pokemon who stole the souls of trainers and caused them to vanish forever. His fist tightened than released.
This would completely ruin the schedule he had set for himself. However, his did seem more important. Perhaps this mewtwo could be a new puzzle piece in his friend's disappearance.
"Indeed."
Instead of taking the time to walk the distance between the two Xero merely teleported right behind the other mewtwo. The area around him distorted in a light blue haze than disintegrated and returned to normal once his eyes stopped glowing. His arm reached over the other mewtwo and he placed his hand on the door. He may have been a 'monster', but he still believed that a lady should still be treated as such.
"Please, After you miss." His tone was without emotion this time. Xero's face portrayed no emotion either. It was a normal occurrence for him, especially around those he was 'unfamiliar' with.

In the split of a second he vanished, Prisca had a sudden thought that he had changed his mind about speaking with her. But before she could decide what emotion to feel over it, the air behind her twisted and reformed and there was suddenly an arm outstretched in front of her. She jumped in fright, having completely forgetting the special abilities bestowed on her own kind. She had never really tried to use them. Not often. Nor did she enjoy sitting still in order to learn them. Even in utter silence, her hands needed to be doing something.
Turning her head to glance at his impassive face out of the corner of her eye, she merely nodded and entered the building. There was no fear. Not anymore. If he intended to destroy her like the second attempt at a Mewtwo, she knew it would have been done already. She already gave away her weaker status. Now she showed it by walking.
Walking straight and between two cases filled with different styles of rings, she opened another door, revealing a much more comfortable setting than outside on the side of the street. A large couch and a scattered few armchairs sat in a square around a plain wood coffee table.
Seating herself in one of the chairs, she placed her purse on the floor besides her and the shawl on the table. Crossing one leg over the other, she waited until he was well seated before saying anything.

Xero didn't feel the need to assure her it would be alright, she seemed to recover quickly enough from the surprise. Though Xero was very curious why she was startled. Surely she would known of such tricks.
When she entered the building Xero's tail uncurled than he followed closely behind. In fact he didn't wait to even close the door with his hands. Instead his eyes glowed a light blue very briefly as he used his psychic to close it gently. He didn't bother to lock it. Security was not an issue he felt. Damned the fool who tried to break in while they were there.
As they entered the next room Xero waited politely for the female to take her seat before he took his place across from her on the opposite side of the coffee table. His arms folded squarely across his chest. At this point he refused to have a seat. Not till he was settled mentally. His tail once again took its place around his feet giving him the typical stance.
"...." So many questions to ask, but what first? Xero locked his eyes on her own as he thought about the situation. This was like a strange dream, one he never imagined to come true.

Ignoring the fact the other Mewtwo decided not to sit, she interlocked her fingers in her lap. She looked him directly in the eye as her mind churned around all the questions and answers that needed to come out. Wondered about the reaction upon hearing she was more like a human woman than anything else. She didn't even fly to and from work. The only power she seemed to make good use of was the telekinesis. Quite helpful when one was lazy and something was far away. A Mewtwo not fond of battling. About as crazy as saying there were only one of each of the Legends.
"I guess I have more of a right to go first," she said, offering a friendly smile despite feeling a little nervous about dwelling into her life-story with a stranger, as alike her he may be. "An appropriate start would be to assure you that you did, in fact, halt the second experiment. Would have made him my brother, I suppose, since we share the same Mew DNA. Though I shudder to think what he would have been like." A cold shiver ran down her spine at the thought of what he was being created for. Nothing but a vicious tool for humans. Humans wouldn't learn from the first mistake, of course. "As for me, I wasn't intended to be like him. I have the same power as him and you, though at a lesser extend because I actually don't like to battle. I'm sure seeing me as a female is just as big a shock for you. That was on purpose. Female hormones tend to be calmer. My experiment was based more around the creation of a powerful creature who was also too docile and calm to pose a threat. The scientist quit the same lab you destroyed and took a sample of the DNA to conduct his own research and test his theory underground in Lavender. Maybe you never noticed because I don't give off such a strong signal as my brother or you do. Or even Mew, really." Taking a deep breath, she raked her brain of anything else she could think of. She thought she had it covered decently. He seemed like the silent type. Getting it all over with like that she thought would be the best for them to get anywhere quicker.
Cocking her head slightly as she looked at him, she smiled sweetly, less nervous than before. "Hearing the stories as I grew up, I know you just wanted to stop more tools being made. Despite that one experiment did slip by, you did do your job well. I'm about as threatening as a Jigglypuff."

Xero gave his full attention to the other Mewtwo's story. It was to say the least relieving to hear that her tale was different than his own. A human with good intentions, a scientist no less. That was something he never would have thought possible.
Her final words caused him to fidget with the red cloth wrapped around his left wrist. His finger tips rubbed the edges of the long stray pieces gently. How could there possibly have been any good tales of his rampage? Her 'compliment' only added more questions. He did 'well'? Did her scientist father tell her this? Or was this just a conclusion she had come up with on her own?
Xero closed his eyes for a moment after she finished speaking, as if to collect his nerves. This was all a sore matter.
When his eyes opened again his focus returned to the other mewtwo. There was some truth her words. He did not want another like himself created, no doubt if one had he would have hunted it and done everything in his power to cease its existence. Well, one that he had known about. It was after that particular lab she came from he had stopped his rampage and went into seclusion to meditate.
"I have no anger toward who you are." He finally spoke in a dry tone. "I wanted to halt the production of more monsters like myself, but that was only minor compared to my desire for revenge."
After a short pause he added, "It is relieving that you were fortunate enough to have a kind human as your father. Obviously you were much more of a success because of it..."
His fidgeting stopped and his hand settled back on his arm. He gave little time for his last sentence to hang in the air. "How did you come to this place?"

(For a second, I thought he meant the Jigglypuff comment. xD -still sleepy-)
In the quiet of waiting for all that to sink in with the man, she lifted her tail, previously curled at her feet like a sleeping cat, to spread across her lap. A nervous quirk from childhood, she had found it soothed her slightly when it was touched. It wasn't so much fear anymore. A mix of anything but. It was an exciting moment for her, being apart of a species where only two existed. And may ever exist. Here were two people who could fully understand each other. Who shared the same intelligence level that was so sorely lacking in this world.
But it was also emotional. So much so, she couldn't yet piece apart all the different feelings coursing through her body. It wasn't nice feeling alone and taken for granted. Left you angry. Lonely. Confused. Reliving her story had brought it all back up. The only other people she had felt comfortable around were the old scientist and his son. They were the only ones who had treated her as an individual. Not something prized for a collection.
Her hands stroked the end of her tail, where it widened at the tip. "You might have had anger," she responded wisely, her hand making motions like one would pet a cat in the distractions of her talking. "No one ever tells any other side of the story than one. Doesn't leave someone the opportunity to even judge how the experience changed you." She looked away for the moment, her eyes resting on a painting on the wall to his right. Purple eyes clouded over with the past behind her black framed glasses. "I know. After I had a small taste of the real world, I could only imagine what hundreds of years of it would be like." She returned her case back to him, clouded now with understanding and caring. "Can't really expect it to shape someone into anything less." Shrugging, she continued. "Success or failure depends on your point of view. My feelings are mixed. I came here by accident. I guess the female hormones make me a little too docile. I don't like fighting. My powers are weak. In the face of trainers who wanted to catch the infamous Mewtwo, not realizing there were two, I only fled. That brought me here. That soup shop gives off a strange feeling, so I investigated in the cover of night." With a small chuckle, she added," Can't say I'm displeased with the results."

(( LOL! XD ))
Point of view indeed. There was definitely a great difference between this mewtwo and himself. Seeing as they were the only two it would be unfair to say all mewtwos were created to be blood lusting fighters. However, with most of the scientists behind the project Xero found that seemed to be the common goal of the project. A powerful fighting machine. This one would prefer to run from a fight where as Xero would not think to loose it. Any other purpose was fathomable.
She was a success in that she was created for a very different purpose. A clone pokemon who could assimilate into the world without a problem was nothing less.
"...I see." Another random stumble into the shop. That place seemed to be like a magnet. "Every one is entitled to their own view on the matter..." His arms unfolded than rest by his sides. It was a subtle sign he was somewhat more relaxed than when he had first entered the room. "Why would your father allow trainers to pursue you?"

There certainly was no limited supply of questions from the other Mewtwo. Not that the woman minded much. Any questions of hers would be fueled more by childish curiosity. She expected his to be more analyzing the situation at hand. An action she could understand. An action she would quietly sit through and answer all questions with as much dept as she could think of. Being the second experiment in a world he had wanted only one in, she felt she had a right to explain her existence more.
Looking down at her lap, she realized she had retreated to her childhood comfort. Pushing the tail off her leg, she opted instead to fold her hands in her lap. "Not by his fault," she responded, taking a few seconds to brush a speck of dirt off the bottom of her knit dress. "Giovanni wasn't pleased that the experiment he was paying for was destroyed. It took many a year, but word got out about the scientist who quit. Someone spied me in the house and called him. They attacked only once before I realized it would be better if I left. And once a Pokemon is released from the care of the trainer, it can be re-caught by anyone." Raising a purple nailed hand to her throat, she fingered the gold locket on her chest. "That's why I was running. I was fortunate to have protected the house that one time." She shrugged, her hand dropping back to her lap. "I just have no desire to fight. I wasn't even strong enough before I left to learn Psychic on my own."
(And, yes. She looked down the entire time.)
