Scheelite was not the kind of captain that could sit back and let his lieutenants do most of the work. He was the type that had to be out, just about every night, doing SOMETHING to further his status as Best Captain Ever. Or, at least he thought he was.
But doing this day after day alone could get very lonely, AND boring! So tonight he was set to meet someone. Someone awesome. Sucks to be you Paragonite, because tonight your captain wants to go on patrol with you.
Lucky, lucky you!
Meeting place, the swings of course. Scheelite was already there, swinging back and forth and generally looking like an overgrown (and glowing) child. At least he was having fun, but the real fun would start when Para got here.
Now where was she?

Paragonite, who was generally very prompt with her appearances, had been sidetracked with the prospect of starseeds. In her hand she thumbed over the little seed. She debated handing it off to Scheelite or just hanging onto it herself.
Her answer to that would be based solely on what sort of mood the boy was in when she got to him. Her eyes scanned the area as she moved into the park, and they landed on the brightly accented young man. Casually she moved to stand in his range of vision, keeping careful to keep a ruler's length of distance between them.
Always with the swings. Paragonite often wondered what sort of childhood Demy had as he'd grown. He seemed to have almost this... Peter pan syndrome. He just did not want to grow up.
Then again, he had his moments.
"Evenin' Schee." she offered rather dryly. To be honest, she had a fairly large dislike for all things 'the park' and tried to avoid it. There were better places to patrol, really.
Though it seemed the decision had fallen out of her hands. For tonight.

Aha! There she was! Scheelite quickly vacated the swings by doing a sweet dismount and landed besides his lieutenant. It seemed like he was in a good mood, there was that goofy a** grin spread across his face of course. But lately it seemed his mood could change at the drop of a hat.
She was safe, for now at least.
"Hey Para!" He was pushing his luck with that whole ruler distance rule. It seemed like he was hovering juuuust at the right distance so as not to earn her wrath, but also to be annoying. He was like that, a lot.
"Ready to go do some stuff? There's...not many people here, but it was a good meeting place! I dunno where we should go though...any ideas?" Well, he wasn't suggesting hitting up the taco place. That was a start.

The lieutenant's brow furrowed as Scheelite played liberally with her measured personal space. With his mood though, she decided best to let it slide for the time being. Granted, it was true, there was no pushing for tacos (or cookies, or burgers or anything else out of the necessary), she thumbed over the seed once more before bringing it up in front of his face.
"Well," she began, "first off, you can have this." she flicked her wrist, sending the seed towards the glowstick lovechild.
"Outside of that, we can always look into procuring a few more this evening. Really though, whatever you would think is best." she paused with that thought for a moment, thinking it over.
"As long as it actually has something to do with getting actual work accomplished." She was certain the addendum was necessary. She didn't feel like going to play games all night. She would have had no problem picking their activity for the evening, but Scheelite had to start doing things on his own in order to make this arrangement work.

"Ooo!" The starseed was snagged out of the air, examined a moment, and then carefully set inside a pocket. Hey, at least he hadn't made any moves to eat it. It was an improvement. "Good job Para! Going to get more of these would definitely be a good way to spend the evening..." He was pacing around her, once again showing how completely incapable he was of standing still. Though the more she looked at him the easier it was to see he had been in a fight recently. Were those tiny burn marks healing on his arms under the fishnet? He also seemed to wince slightly at times.
Huh.
"I'd...rather not run into Senshi. I know, I know, big badass Captain should be hunting them down, and I have! And I'll keep on doing it! But...not tonight. Please." He paused in his pacing, standing in front of Para once more. "I -want- to work Para, I want this team to work and I want to do good for the Negaverse. I promise."

Para rolled her eyes as Scheelite doted the 'good job' on her. It made her feel like a kid still in elementary bringing home a drawing they did for their teacher and getting a pat on the head from their parents before it got posted up on the fridge. She nodded her head in agreement as he went on about how gathering more starseeds would be a good use of their time. Of course it would be.
She stood there for a moment, as he paced around her. As her eyes drew to the more recent battle wounds he was sporting, a frown drew itself across her face. "Yeah, sure, not tonight. Soon though, we can't just let leave them running loose and being the obnoxious tight wearing pains in the asses that they are." she waved a nonchalant hand at him, her frown turning to an impish grin.
"Hey, it's gonna work. No worries there. If it wasn't going to, I wouldn't be standing here right now. So no need to promise me. Long as you don't go all soft on me there's nothing to worry about."
Another pause.
"Course, if you go all soft on me I will, of course, be forced to kick your spiky haired a** all over this park. Just to forewarn you. So, you best be getting your A game on the go. I don't have time for losers. We need a game plan, need to know what our goals are." she eyed the boy.
"Above and beyond trying to prove yourself to everyone else." she really didn't care about Schee proving himself to this person or the other person. He had potential to be as good, and better, that others, if he applied himself. His internal struggle to actually be better than everyone else, however, was giving him the incentive to actually put this potential to good use.

"Trust me, there's a certain pain in the a** I'd love nothing more than to go kick her a**. Unfortunately I cannot, as she's part of a little project Zink is running. Which, by the way, if you see Sailor Lyra you might want to avoid her, or distract her by telling her where -I- am. She was your typical sweet goodie two shoes but now? Man...I dunno, she hunted me down last time..." He was picking absently at one of his burns as he talked. Yummy.
"Not going soft, and definitely -not- a loser. You're not wasting your time Para, this is the team going right to the top. A-team, we're gonna kick a**." He motioned for her to follow, going on a leisurely stroll through the park...for the moment at least.
"While yes, I'd -really like- to prove myself to everyone, I am concerned for you guys too. I didn't exactly like it when I was a lieutenant, since I was pretty lost and confused ya know? I don't want -new- lieutenants going through that too, and anyone that comes under -my- wing is getting trained in the fine art of being awesome. Then they are getting trained in the even more fine art of friggin teamwork. You know why Para?" Here he turned, that big goofy a** grin directed at her yet again. "Because one day, we're going to do something <******** amazing that everyone will remember. I dunno what yet, but I will think of something, and it'll be -awesome-."

Just as Paragonite was beginning to take what her Captain was saying seriously, he had to throw in what he wanted to train any new lieutenants in. She nearly stopped midstep, but continued along. Her head, however, that had been looking off towards the sky, and all around, was now directly towards the blond.
"Fine art of being... awesome?" What was this, some bad 80s cartoon? Teamwork, great. Awesome? Really? If it were anyone else...
She gave a relenting sigh as he continued on, "Yeah, I'm sure you're right. Something amazing that everyone will remember. I like that." she let her eyes wander away from the boy again.
"Let's just.. start from something a little more substantial than 'being awesome'." she gave a half-assed grin.
"Like, you know, actually getting other people involved."

"We have a new addition to the team." Apparently the mention of 'other people' had suddenly jogged his memory. "And not just anyone, we've got a Nega-Senshi on our team. Pretty neat huh? We'll have to have a team meeting some day, but her name is Hel. AND she already knows that you're my number one on this team." This was said as though it was something to be super proud of. Afterall up until the mention of Hel this 'team' had only been Scheelite and Paragonite anyway.
"What are -your- goals Lieutenant? You know mine, it's only fitting that a captain knows the goals of those with him as well, yeah?"

One of these days, Scheelite was going to cause his lieutenant a severe case of whiplash. They'd picked up someone else already? A senshi at that? Huh, well, that could... potentially, make for an interesting turnabout.
Though she'd leave any judgements on the new person until she met them. Hopefully they'd live up to the expectations she had laid out in her mind already.
"I see." was all she gave him to work with from that one, her brain was taking the time to mull this little factoid over, wondering how best this could be used to their advantage.
"My goals?" she echoed, "Don't you know? It's fairly basic." she shook her head.
"My goals are to push this to the next level. To procure as many starseeds as possible for the negaverse, and to take out those damned senshi that are constantly hampering attempts." she snarked at the last bit there. Her distaste apparent.

"Your goals just sound like a repeat of what the Negaverse is all about. Don't you want something...different? Something more? You're a pretty smart lieutenant Para...there has to be something."
He paused a moment. Maybe he was gathering his thoughts to make his next statement.
"By the way? .......TAG." One bap to the shoulder later and Scheelite was taking off in the opposite direction, laughing the entire way.
Yeah never mind, he was done being serious business for tonight.

She could have been honest with him there, she could have. There was most certainly more to her reasoning than the generic negaverse answer. In fact, she may have explained it to him, had she not suddenly felt a hand coming down on her shoulder followed by the loud "TAG!" comment.
Turning on her heels, she glared after the blond.
"I. AM GOING TO KICK YOUR a** SCHEELITE." with that, she took off running after the boy.
It was true.
So much for deep and meaningful, hello angered and annoyed and beating of the glowworm!

"You'd have to catch me first Para, and we allllllll know you're a slowpoke compared to me!" Which was also true. It was hard for people to catch someone always so hyped up on sugar like he was.
Besides, if she ever -did- catch him..he could just teleport away. Hahahaa, good luck Para!
"Let's call this your first training session. Just TRY and catch me!"
Which of course, she couldn't. She was doomed from the start! While the team had promise, their first patrol..wasn't exactly the most productive one.
But hey, at least Scheelite had fun.
