Kisho found his brother sitting in the glade near their old home. He had travelled home in a much happier mood and he wondered if he had forgiven him for stealing Ichy away from him. "Are you mad?" He asked at last, the silence between the pair becoming too much to bear.
There had been a time when the twins had been thick as thiefs, yet that had all changed when their parents had died. They had both reacted differently to the order that was issued to them. The very thought of being unable to leave here.... trapped, without a good woman, just his brother and duty had tormented him so much that one day he had simply left home. Gone in search of adventure and mischief. Ronin had been the opposite, bound by his faith and duty he remianed at home, remained with his families duty in the solitude of their world... that was until Ichy had travelled here.
She had fast become friends with his brother, the only problem was that proud, timid, quiet Ronin had been building up the courage to court the mare when Kisho had returned, so full of his own arrogance after his trip that he wanted to show Ronin what he was missing. He took Ichy for himself, only to find he was falling for her... the last thing that single, lifeloving Kisho had wanted to find.... but there, in a delicate mare called Ichy Kisho found his mate.
His brother had left shortly after. Yet, he was back and looked.... different.

Ronin was sitting, looking at his old home when he heard familar footprints behind him. Part of him was not in the mood for his brother, did not want his company... yet the other part, the part that longed for his brothers approval wanted to tell him the good news.
Yet, although Ronin was in a remarkbly better mood than he had been in the months after Kisho's lesson had unfolded. Yet, now Fluerite was in his life he couldn't bring himself to be mad. If Kisho had never pushed him he would never have left, never have found his lifemate, never have felt so whole.... yes, Kisho had done him a favour. That didn't mean he had to tell him so.
Looking over his shoulder lazily at his brother he gave him the best look of annoyance he could muster despite to happy state. "Not everything is about you Kisho. You should know that by now." He turned away then, continued to just look into the distance.

Kisho couldn't hide his grin at his brothers words, there was a time when Ronin would never have been so brave towards him, perhaps breaking his heart had helped the stallion somehow? Yet despite the possible benefit Kisho cold not remove the guild, could not get rid of the feeling of regret and sorrow he constantly donned in his chest. The only reason he had not left Ichy was because he truely did love her, and without her he was nothing. No, leaving Ichy wasn't an option.... but Kisho was sure there was something, anything else, that he could do to help his brother.
Sitting beside him Kisho looked his brother over, despite never leaving here before he looked as a prim-and-proper as ever, his features strong but today they bore the hint of a smile. Unable to resist Kisho burst into laughter as he spoke, "Are you smiling Ronin? Serious Ronin?"'
Ok, Kisho knew he was an arse, but he needed to talk to his brother.... to melt the ice wall that Kisho had build between them with his actions. He wanted his twin back.
It was because of Ronin that Kisho had bothered to return in the first place.

Ronin turned to face his brother at his question, was he really smiling? It was hard to tell sometimes. A confused look surely covered his features now as he looked upon his brother.... took in his features, from the scars on his body and teh red streak in his hair Kisho had changed a lot over the year. While Ronin knew he had stayed still for so long, it had taken the inferno that was his brother to kick start his life again.
Loking away and back to their surroundings he spoke, every word serious and honest. "I should thank you Kisho, in your own heartbreaking way you saved me." Ok, so he wasn't meant to be telling his brother this.... but they where twins, they had a connection that couldn't be decribed or ignored. Yes, no matter how hard they tried it was always hard to hide things from the other. It had Ronin who first understood what Kisho was feeling for Ichy.... and telling his brother he was in love and a b*****d in the same breath had been the most difficult Ronin had ever done.
Part of him then, and now, wanted to congradulate his brother for his mate. Ichy was a fine woman, and a good mate for him. She kept Kisho in his hooves, kept him busy and ever guess, yes, she was perfect for him. And so very different from Fleurite. Fleur was the pola-opposite to Ichy.... and that was part of the reason why she was perfect for Ronin. With her delicate features and wings to small for flight, paired with her eagerness and innocences.... yes, she was perfect.

Kisho smiled then, it was enough that his brother was making an effort to talk to him.... but the fact that Ronin had once again swallowed his pride and said such a nice thing to Kisho despite everything he had done to him spoke volumes for his brother. His brother was so much better than him. He knew that, but still he could not simply leave Ronin alone.
Kisho and Ronin were connected, and no matter how far Kisho had travelled he had always felt his brothers presence like a blurr in the back of his mind. Now, sat beside him the blurr purred with happiness, it liked to be with his brother. Kisho admitted, he did too.
In his usual cocky manner he said, "Awwwww, careful now brother, you'll embarrass me!" He turned and grinned at Ronin, the smile didn't quite light up his eyes but it was getting better, closer.
Turning away again, still too ashamed to watch Ronin for too long. He needed to apologise, it was a growing niggly feeling that was starting to demand its right for freedom. Finally Kisho caved, "I am sorry Ronin, I never got to say that before but I am. I never meant to hurt you so much. I..... " he hesitated, what did you say to someone who meant so much and was hurt so badly by your actions? Nothing to be said, so he aplogised again. "I am sorry."
To say Kisho was ashamed was an understatement.

Ronin grinned at his brother casual words, it always made him smile when his brother joked around with him. Strange how he had such an effect so easily. "Funny Kisho." He rolled his eyes and had been about to say more when he realised that Kisho was staring into space, utterly consumed in concentration.
He had never seen his brother like that, curious he simply waited and watched.
What happened next stole Ronin's breath from him. His brother, stubborn arrogant make my own rules Kisho.... had apologised? TWICE? Watching in amazement Ronin spoke before he though, "Who are you and what have you done with my brother?" He looked around, maybe someone had put him up to it.... Ichy perhaps? "Who made you do this Kisho? You never apologise."
Stunned and taken aback he stared at his brother for a long time, waiting for the answer.... why was his brother doing this?

His brothers serious but joke filled words actually hurt Kisho more than he would ever have thought was possible. His brother was right, no matter what he had done to Ronin in the past Kisho had not once apologised. No, he had done everything but.
It was time to change. With Ichy by his side he finally felt as if he had the strength to change.
Swallowing his pride was not an easy thing to do twice.... so Kisho couldn't bring himself to make another apology, he knew it would have done little use anyways. His brother would have already accepted it or decided not to. The damage was done. Time to get proactive.
"It's me moron, I've never hurt you like this before so need to make an apology." He shrugged his shoulders fainting a nonchalance he really didn't feel. "So... where you been little brother?" Ok, so the fact was that Kisho had been born first and placed in his basket before Ronin but Ronin had leaped from his basket first.... making neither of them officially older than the other, but Kisho liked to pretend. Liked to spoil his brother in the same manner any older sibling would.... insults and all.

Forgetting the other words Ronin found himself glued to the way his brother always called him 'little', the same fury that had been between them since they had been foals cam back with avengences. "I am not your little brother Kisho, stop treating me as such." He snapped his jaw at his brother, the fury ebbing to amusment. Once again Kisho knew just how to get Ronin to change his mood.
Sighing he looked at his brother again, and then with his usual seriousness said, "You do not need to apologise though little" Ronin stole his brothers saying, "brother, if you had not given me a reason to leave I would never have found.... her." His attitude changed, he was in love and he knew he couldn't disguise it from his features -nor did he try.
Ronin was in love with Fleurite.
That didn't mean that Ronin would be introducing her to Kisho anytime soon, not until he was certain there was no way that his smoother brother could ever steal her from him. That said, he knew and understood that Kisho loved Ichy.... that didn't mean he was a saint. Always a sinner.

Kisho smiled, so that was the truth behind Ronin's sudden mood change. A woman.
He couldn't help the chuckle that left his lips, nor the comment that followed it. "Wow, my brother the stud. Gone just a few months and already hitched... so," he started, his eyebrow cocked in his usual arrogant manner that did nothing to hide his obvious curiousity. "...she must be really something if you she's got you caught in her web."
Kisho winked playfully and then turned back to look at the enviroment around them. "So...." His tone was serious now, "...tell me about her?"
Kisho was genuinely interested.

Ronin hesitated, he wanted to keep Fleur as far as possible away from Kisho, yet at the same time had a strange compulsion to tell him everything. To let him know just how perfect she was... and how HE had found her and wooed her all on her own, and she had liked it. Fell for him. Yes, it had nothing to do with Kisho and his fantastic ability with the woman, because for some reason Ronin was almost positive that Fleur would never accept Kisho front-on assault.
"She is.... wonderful." Was all he could say to begin with, his thoughts turned to Fleur, her dainty wings and beautfiul personality outshone everything else.
"I think I love her Kisho. She is beautiful, smart, cunning...." There where too many wonderful things about her and not enough words to describe her.

"Wow," Kisho said, looking at Ronin in awe, he had never seen his brother so passionate about anything.... excpet maybe the desire to stay and do as their parents had asked them. He had not even been this passionate about Ichi! Did that mean..... had Ronin finally found happiness? "You have it bad bro!" he said with a chuckle, and part of him couldn't help but wonder if his brother now understood how he felt about Ichi... why he hadn't been able to give her up, despite how cruel he had been to his brother. Yes, Kisho had only intended to teach Ronin a lesson.... but he had ended up learning one himself. Sometimes you didn't know when love would show itself.... and when it did, you had no control or force that could stop it!
He knew it was a tender topic... but he also knew that it would have to be discussed. "I really do love Ichi you know..... for that.... I should thank you too." He looked at his brother, without his brother he would never have gone after her, never have found his true love.... his lifemate.

Ronin couldn't disagree..... he knew he had it bad, she was his gentle flutterby, his heart and soul. "I do...." he said with a grin as he smiled at his brother. The past was hard to forget, but he was trying.... after all.... he had Fluer now!
Then he mentioned Ichi, he visably winced. Ok, so maybe the old memories were still more tender than he suspected after all.... still he was happy for his brother, mostly at least. Taking a moment to compose himself he didn't trust himself to speak he simply nodded his head and tried to smile.

Kisho felt a pang of guilt at his brothers reaction... but since had started this converstation he felt he must finish it. "For what it's worth.... she regrets that you got hurt as well." He turned away, unable to keep eye contract due to the pain he was feeling. In an effort to soften the blow he added, "But hey.... a mare that you snared all on your own.... impressive, I want to meet this extradinary mare of yours." Not that it mattered but he added, "What breed is she?" Curious to see if his experiences with Ichi had changed his preference of women any.

Ronin turned away as well.... yes, he loved his twin; and knew that with time this would be behind them..... but, it was hard to forget.
With a sigh he was pleased for the change of subject. "I am sure she will want to meet you as well." At the mention of breed he cocked and eyebrow and looked at his brother once more.... he had known his brother to be a player before Ichi, he would take any mare that would have him.... lure and seduce anyone, even if he deemed them ugly or foal bred.... yet here he was, questioning Fluerites breed. It was... confusing, did his brother have a secret hatred for a particular breed that Ronin didn't know about?
Shaking away that thought he finally answered; "She is a fluttercorn like you or I, except her wings are much too small to support flight." He didn't see that as a weakness, just a happy quirk of hers.
