Dragon was certain to put his shoes on before he had left the house this time around despite his great dislike of them, better then allowing anyone to see him pulling them back on again since that had been a touch embarrassing being caught in that position by Phoenix. As such now he was being more careful to get himself ready before he went out and about where others might see him.
Once he had his shoes, a coat, and a scarf all put on the Asian Long looked over his shoulder for a moment looking around, "I will catch her one of these days." He murmured, having missed Kirin again because he'd overslept just a little. Giving a shake of his head he headed out through the door, closed and locked it behind himself, and then hopped into the air to float onward toward his goal for the day. He was going out to get food from the food court at the Mall before he went to do a bit of shopping. He was in need of a few more supplies when it came to food to keep at home as well as a few other things that he wanted to buy. He had more then enough money to get anything he might need or want so he had fun going to the Mall from time to time, the other up side being that there were always plenty of people around. If there was something Dragon really disliked it was being alone.
The trip from his place to the Mall was uneventful, he looked up at the sky in a curious manner as it was a bit cloud but he didn't think that it was going to rain... something that he found to be a shame since Dragon absolutely loved the rain! Even if it were cold out he didn't think it was quite cold enough that his beloved rain would become snow... at least he hoped not. The dragon's feet touched down only after he was inside the Mall and away from the dirty ground of the outdoors. Alright, time to find something for lunch he thought to himself in a happy manner, his long tail swishing behind him as he headed for the food court. He could smell it the moment he stepped inside and his mind was racing through the various choices, wondering what it was that he wanted to eat this time around. He ate here quite a few times so he knew what there was to have and was a rather large fan of both pizza and of the sub sandwich shop since the food at both places were delicious.
The dragon was all but humming to himself as he walked along toward where food was located, taking in those who were present at the moment curious to see if he spotted anyone he knew... though the list was a bit short at the moment since he knew Cerbe, Cer, Rus, Phoenix and Butterfly only.

The food court was not particularly high on Tears list of places to be on the campus. It was loud, smelly and tended to feature a host a lot of impromptu acts of stupidity perpetrated by the crocodiles fellow students. Still, it had the best variety of food to be found and that was a point in it's favour. Until Tears learned how to make more than few meals on his own, with what kitchen supplies were offered to the students in their apartments, the food court was going to end up as a default eating establishment.
At the moment this left Tears shoveling crispy chicken fingers into his mouth with one hand and using the other to scribble notes on what he was observing elsewhere in the mall's food court. Pale, yellowish-orange eyes were focused on a group of upperclassmen who were doing something disgusting looking involving ketchup, vinegar and some food Tears didn't recognize. It was both fascinating and disturbing to watch as far as he was concerned.
Of course to the casual observer Tears was also fascinating and disturbing. He looked neat and presentable, seemed capable of intense focus for someone his age and yet was currently stuffing strips of fried breaded meat down into his mouth with little care. Jagged teeth that protruded past his lips caught and pulled the chicken strips into his mouth where they were promptly swallowed mostly whole if the way his throat bulged was any indication.

Dragon had all but frozen in place upon spotting the reptilian boy. He starred for a long moment then tilted his head to the side. Instantly he was interested due to him finding several things about the crocodile that were similar to Dragon himself which he found kind of cool... and then the guy shoveled some food into his mouth, gulping it down without chewing from the looks of it. That was... mildly disturbing... surely he knew that he should cut up his food, chew it, and that way he wouldn't choke?
He walked by him to where the sandwich place was set up, doing his best not to stare but it was kind of hard not to when the guy eating in such a manner. For a moment all of the manners that meant so much to Dragon seemed to go out the window. He shook his head, looked away, then set to ordering a meal for himself. A ham and turkey sandwich with a bunch of different vegetables, cheese, and some mayo. He got a bottle of water to drink and after making sure that nobody was really paying attention to what he was order Dragon also got himself a dozen cookies because he had a terrible weakness for sweets and they were right there by the cash register. As such he couldn't resist them.
In fact he was on his way to sitting down and he already had one of them in hand, munching on it. He found himself passing by the other reptile's table, paused, took a couple steps back, considered it, then sat down across from him, "Good afternoon." He greeted the other boy.

Tears stared silently for a moment at the dragon, the crocodile appeared frozen, not visibly breathing or blinking. He had seen the royal walk past him and paid little note to it but then suddenly the other boy had backtracked and was sitting across from him talking to him. The question of course was why? They had had some similar features he knew but they were were more different than they were alike. A twitch ran through Tear's tail and he he stared a moment longer before giving a slight sigh and replying.
"Good afternoon," he offered still not blinking or showing much indication of his mood at the moment. It wasn't that Tears assumed the other boy was up to something but he wasn't inclined to trust him off the bat right away. " Does the cold bother you?" It wasn't the most normal conversation starter but Tears was curious about whether or not the other reptilian child was susceptible to the cold. He was also most comfortable around strangers when he was questioning them.
There was a possibility the dragon might be one Tears could call a friend but only time and close observation would tell.

Dragon blinked a couple times at the strange question that was posed to him and he found himself wondering where that had come from, maybe the way that Dragon was dressed? He gave a slow nod of his head as he removed his scarf, folded it up neatly, and let it rest on his lap. A part of hi instantly wanted to say that 'No' the weather didn't bother him in the least but he saw no reason to lie, "Yeah, its a huge bother. I don't like wearing so many layers of clothing since it reminds me of the formal dress I've had to wear before." It was something he was used to wearing from time to time at the request of his parents but he was always a little uncertain of it, the to nice looking clothing made him worry about ruining it. Sure he was a Prince but that didn't mean that he wasn't still a young boy that wanted to play.
"I am unable to really enjoy all the water around the Campus as much I would like to as well." It was just to cold to do anything with the water outside and it made Dragon on edge a little since the water was his natural element. He looked Tears over for a long moment before asking, "You as well?" He asked of the other reptile, wondering if he suffered from the same dislike of the cold weather that Dragon did.
As he awaited the answer Dragon set to unwrapping his food in a careful manner, not wanting to dirty his hands with his food... though in comparison to how the one he was sitting with ate he was sure that any little mistake wouldn't be noticed by anyone but Dragon himself.

Tears nodded in response to the dragonboy's question. " I hate the cold and I miss the water." He longed for warm weather again and days where he could bask on the bank of the pond and work on homework at the same time. He didn't care for cold and once snow fell, well others might enjoy making snowmen or ice forts but he certainly didn't. Tear's tail twitched at the very thought of snow, every year at home some neighborhood kid got him with a stray snowball when he dared venture outside.

He hated the cold and missed the water, Dragon decided with that simple comment that this one was someone that he could find himself liking despite the fact that he wasn't one of the members of Indignadi. Not that he said as much out loud, instead he merely nodded his agreement with the comment the other boy made. Carefully picking his utensils he used them to cut his sandwich into smaller pieces, making them easier to deal with so that he didn't have to worry about making a mess.
"Its good to hear that there is someone who has similar thoughts to me when it comes to such matters." He said once his food was prepared, "I think that most people likely look forward to time of year. Snow men, sledding, and all of that nonsense." Nothing he'd been to terribly interested in himself since it all involved getting covered in the cold, dirty snow, risking getting a cold, and all for what? Decorations that lasted only until the next warm front or until someone was mean enough to knock it over. He had better ways to spend his time that was for sure.
Dragon realized that he had fallen silent again and he tried to think of something else that he should be saying. After all given who and what he was conversation with other people, even those much different then him, should be something he could do, right? Social skills were something he would need in the future so... best to practice now, while he was young, "So, other then the weather how are things?" He asked, as though they were great friends and not just a pair of strangers sharing a table during lunch. While awaiting an answer, were the other boy to give one, he picked up one piece of his neatly sliced sandwich to take a bite from it, tail swishing behind him in a pleased manner, finding it to be quite tasty.

"Boring" Tears admitted with a heavy sigh. " No one here does anything worth writing down or they say.. things when they catch me taking notes." It wasn't fair, he had always watched other people and written down what he saw, why should it be different here? Plus he had most defineitely not be loitering about the girls change room for illicit reasons. The very thought of such things was gross, that's how you got the worst germs. The crocodile boy was much misunderstood here, not that he was inclined to explain himself most of the time, too much effort.
" Why do you eat like that?" Tears asked curiously before stuffing another whole chicken strip into his mouth. Chewing, no matter what his parents said, was more pain that in was worth and the hunger pains in his stomach ceased faster when he gulped his meals down. Sure sometimes he felt a little sick afterwards but he didn't actually throw up often. Royal or not surely Dragon's eating habits should have been closer to his own.

Dragon's tail swished a bit as he listened to what the other was saying, finding himself wanting to take full advantage of this. The guy sounded as though the others he dealt with were boring, something Dragon knew that he wasn't. He had all manner of things that he could do that would be interesting... his lips turned up into a smile as he thought about sharing with the crocodile what it was that he could do... when suddenly Tears was shoveling more food into his mouth in a manner that caused Dragon to lifted an eyebrow. It was... rather like watching a gruesome scene in a movie play out, one just couldn't look away...
"Why? Because I like to stay neat, I'd rather eat my food and not wear it." He said, watching as Tears seemed to just... swallow the food without to terribly much chewing at all. He starred for a long moment before he found himself asking, "Can you even taste your food when you eat like that?" Surely he must be missing out on the taste of what he was eating if he just gulped it down, right? It sounded like a bit waste to him... he gave a little shake of is head before he picked up the next section of his sandwich to eat it. Despite finding the croc's manner of eating a touch disturbing he wasn't going to let it ruin his own meal, not when it was as good as this sandwich was.

Tears swallowed a final time than laughed and nodded " I can taste things, not a lot and not for long but I know what tastes good and what should be spat out, like asparagus." Tears had a feeling Dragon wouldn't approve of spitting if he didn't like gulping but the crocodile child could not and would not change who he was just to make other people happy. The boy shrugged and offered a small sharp toothed grin. " We eat different but I think we're both okay." He still didn't know much about Dragon but Tears found the other boy tolerable at the very least and certainly interesting. Even as he thought the words he was scribbling notes about dragon down with his free hand, a full profile would come later.

What should be spat out? Now that was a disgusting mental image that he hoped he could rid himself of, the last thing that he wanted to be picturing as he went about his day was the the other boy coughing up asparagus, "I see, well at least you are able to enjoy your food to that degree." He finally said, not wanting to stay silent to long else their conversation and his reason for sitting here other then his meal, which he could eat anywhere, might end. Speaking of his meal he returned to that, picking up another section of the sandwich taking a bite of it, chewed it, then swallowed all while inspecting the other boy.
At the comment about how the other boy seemed to think that they were both okay Dragon gave a nod of his head in agreement. While there were parts of this boy that were a touch... gross all in all he found himself liking him, he had to be the best student outside of Indignadi that he'd met thus far he thought to himself, sure that he was being a little biased given that the one across from him shared a few things in common with Dragon, like this eyes of his. After he finished off his section of sandwich the young prince commented on them, "You have nice eyes." They were similar to Dragon's eyes though the crocodile had slitted pupils instead of rounded ones. They were still a nice, golden color though which Dragon could appreciate. In his mind gold, along with purple, were royal colors which gave Crocodile a boost in his standing in the Indignadi members eyes.
