Where the story starts, the dominant form of rule is a monarchy with the King at the top calling the shots, and various positions of power below him to carry out his deeds. However, even under a King’s leadership oppression remains an issue and recent faith in the ruler has begun to dwindle leading to deteriorating relationships between the common people and the government.

To add to the revolution of the world, rumors of a lost technology of unknown power have begun to circulate. The hunt for this lost treasure have sent the thrill seekers into frenzy, and cast a small amount of fear into the monarch’s control. After all, it is said that whoever can find this ultimate of Lost Treasures will gain unknown abilities or power. The people of the world are ready for change, and they will stop at no ends to get it.

So come join us as we embark into this world of Occultism, sky pirates, steam technology, and the next Industrial Revolution in Guns N’ Gears.

Welcome to the new age of Global progression, the next Industrial Revolution. The year is 3165, nearly 500 years after the Apocalyptic War. Though our land is replenished and cities restored, most of society has reverted back to 18th century styles and mentalities. This new world has spawned a number of contrasting characters from the boisterous rough n' tumble sky pirates of Hispania, to the sophisticated philosophers, and theorists of Londonium. With such a motley bunch of hooligans opposition is something conventional; of course this is all in the name of progression. This progression has introduced a number of new technologies and unearthed many old practices, such as Esotericism Occultism, and simple pseudo-mythical alchemical application.

This newly reformed world, or more specifically Continent, is fittingly titled The New Human Empire. The Vatican stands in the Capital of Italia, Rome as the center of human existence after the Armageddon. In light of the devastation, people sought refuge and protection in the Church, giving the Vatican responsibility and leadership over most of Europe. Despite its once supreme authority, times are changing and people have begun to put their faith in local leaders and nobles, taking authority from the Vatican. Despite its weakening hold over the nations, the Vatican still stands as the greatest form of human leadership after the Armageddon. The Vatican enforces their strict rule with the help of the Vatican Navy, or Templars.

Aside from the continental rule under the New Human Empire, each country is separated into Kingdoms. The Socialist Kingdom of Britannia is under the rule of a tyrannical Monarch; the beautiful and prominent Country is under a revolution led by Parliament, as well as in a cold war with France. Another notable Country is the Kingdom of Hispania. They are the main agricultural supplier, home to pirates, crime syndicates, and drug cartels, as well as home to some of the most prestigious Universities in the Continent or even World. The Kingdom of Germany hosts the leading terrorist faction, apostates against the Vatican, known as Christian Rosenkreuz, or Rosenkreuz Orden. This is only a small fraction of the vast kingdoms upon the continent.

Technology of the time is an amalgamation of 18th century ingenuity and steam powered apparatus. The mind is the limit for those who are willing to invent strange contraptions of lore and imagination. This brings into light the Lost Technologies, technologies far beyond their time that transcend what people believe to be natural limits. Some say it the lost technologies are remnants of the past before the Armageddon, and so they must hold massive capabilities and power. The mother of all Lost Technologies is one that could change the way people live life, and give the wielder great power. Because of the value these Lost Technologies hold, many individuals seek them out and want to find out the truth behind them so they may use them to their will.

With the coming of a second Industrial Revolution man has produced an abounding compendium of ingenious technologies, which for the most part is genuinely intended for the good of mankind. Weaponry is a prominent aspect of thirty first century society, and an important staple for commercial business. Weaponry is made with the beautiful Neoclassical styling of the late eighteenth century and the baleful brutality of new aged mechanics. Advancements in science and alchemy has spawned a plethora of both beneficial and destructive technologies, pitting the kingdoms in a terribly detrimental arms race that may very well lead to a succeeding apocalyptic war. Science is the blessing and bane of humanity, it can benefit and corrupt society. What determines its outcome is its application.

Current Geographical Position - Kingdom of Britannia, Londonium.

Season/Climatic Condition - The story begins in the middle of Winter. Aside from the inclement climate, the winter months have gone rather well. A light tint of snow covers the Gothic landscape of the Aristocratic plot of the city, the same as the rest of Londonium. Even the more provincial residents seem to be enduring the cold weather prudently.

Political Climate - Londonium is in the midst of a civil war. The Majority of the Third Estate ( middle class), is contending the rule of their Totalitarian Monarchy, while the Nobles with an exception of a few families, support their Tyrannical King. Along with an ongoing, perhaps perpetual cold war that still persists between Britannia and the Kingdom of Gallia.
