Due to concerns like "No girls on Campus" and... "Zac's Psychotic Mother", Game night, long planned and hoped for by at least the greater percentile of the threesome, ended up being planned at Beth's brand new apartment.
Zac lead the way up the stairs, unsurprisingly, her Father had come, purchased the place which was really more of a 'Condo' than an apartment, dealt with insurance and legal issues, made a front as though he would be here... and vanished like smoke. It was clear at least that he wanted her to live well, while it was far from the most glamorous of spaces it was far as well from being the most run down or unwelcoming. It felt secure, solid, and between the fact it had been converted from some old factory, and thus had old bricks and enormous windows...along with its relatively new make over, Zac was jealous. This was just the kind of not too hip but just right place he wanted to live some day. He would too... there was no question it was just that she had it NOW. Not only that...she didn't need to deal with his mother anymore either.
Still...it was game night. Promises of soda, tacos, pizza, movies, and ridiculous boardgames that were 'intended' for a far younger audience flavored the promise of a good evening.
Beth opened the door to show hardwood floors with the occasional tasteful carpet, a loft style bedroom could just be seen across the living room though there was also a more traditional bedroom that could just be made out through a half open door. Her 'father's room if the decoration was any tell. It looked like he hired someone in, in Zac's opinion but he said nothing, instead taking in a 'black appliance' kitchen and the few overstuffed chairs and seats. "Niiice...." he said with wide eyes. "Ready to play some...." he checked the boxes sticking out of the bag he carried. "Hungry...hungry...hippos? Or... maybe you'd prefer to start with mousetrap."

She was in her new home.... yet it really didnt feel like a home. Not yet anyways. Her father had furnished the place, a REALLY open lofty like setting. His bedroom was more traditional... hers she adored. A ladder built into the wall that leads up to a slot with a comfy bed. She was jsut glad she didnt sleep walk... or her neighbors would hear a THUD as she fell off the side at night. Her amazing bedroom aside, the rest of the place was cute? She really liked that it was made from a older building, the brick gave it a nice homey feel.
It hadn't even taken her 30 minutes to move in. All she had left was some clothing.. and a few other sparse things including a photo album and a stuffed rabbit.
The only thing she was looking forward to really was tonight, when Zac and Demy were coming over. She suspected it was also part of Zac's ploy to make her house not feel so large.
"I think my dad paid someone to furnish it... but i like it." She grinned opening the door for the duo to let them inside. "I admit its a bit large for one person... and i dont really use the kitchen too often." They should know all to well as to why she didnt.
"lets go for the hippos."

"I BROUGHT GLOWSTICKS!" Well, at least it was obvious that it was Demy who had accompanied Zac here, and not some other strange hyper blonde. That was a relief. He carried a bag of his own, no doubt filled with the glowing little sticks of amazing. At the moment, the plush gerbil known as Oreo could be seen sticking out of it.
"LOTS of em! Can't have a new place without glowsticks to welcome you in right? I made sure to get lots of different colors and.......whoaaaaaa." Once he bounced his way inside whatever ramble he was going on next was cut short. Dude, this place was cool! And it seemed Beth had it pretty much all to herself...AWESOME. Maybe she'd let him crash here every once in a while!
...And maybe that was a bad idea.
"Dude, hippos yes please!"

Zac rolled his eyes and sighed...WHY the hippos, really it was the most RIDICULOUS game they could play. Why not MONOPOLY, or CHESS or anything but.... oh well. "Shall I call checkers-pizza and order?" He offered pulling the hippo game out of the bag and turning it over to their hostess. He didn't yet tell her about the house warming gift that HE brought, slightly less obvious than glow sticks, though he was also waiting for Dem to suggest stringing christmas lights around the edge of her loft too. "We -really- have to teach you to cook..." He added shaking his head and looking around again as though seeing it for the first time.
"You guys pick hippos while I order food ok?"

"Glowsticks! Well why didn't i think of that?" The two of them were way too similar to each other sometimes. They both loved the glowing sticks.... she had a feeling Demy loved them jsut SLIGHTLY more than she though.
"PINK!" She called gleeing before snagging the box, and darting towards the tiny 4 seater table that was close to the kitchen. Setting it down she lifted the lid, and placed the game on the table. "Something tells me you two are going to fight over blue..." She eyed them both.
"Nah... i think even if someone taught me to cook i would mess up. Im fine eating microwave things? Besides... why cook when you can order pizza?" She handed Zink the phone and a little wad of cash.

"Take out is -expensive-, trust me on that!" He protested but took the money anyhow. At least she had a weekly allowance like he did, maybe better thanks to her Father. He did go to the kitchen though and ordered, from memory, what everyone wanted, including the extra call to 'Taco Palace' just for Dem, and several litters of soda.
"12 minutes!" He called as he hung up the phone and put the bills in his pocket for when he would get the food for them. "And I'll take the green...or...whatever... it's fine, Dem can have the blue one." He shrugged and rummaged in the bag to put out the other games for the evening and the squashy package he'd stuffed in the bottom.

"YAY BLUE! Thank you!" He had a feeling Zac wasn't as hellbent on the 'perfect' hippo as him. Demy highly enjoyed this game! It was fast, frantic, and just plain fun. It never seemed like something Zac enjoyed much, but...oh well. At least he was going to play with them this time.
Demy had darted along after Beth, quickly claiming 'his' seat and plopping into it. Afterall..he was still kind of sore and sitting was nice. Even if he'd probably spend most of this evening out of his chair doing little dances of joy, maybe even victory ones!
Oreo was out of his bag and sat in his lap, the little gerbil plush decorated in glowsticks just like it's owner. At least it was obvious who it belonged to.
"Glowsticks are good for -any- occasion, though you should look into some ropelights or something for your bedroom! It'd be cool!"

"Yeah but... when your only one... very little person, you can make one thing of take out last a few days?" It came out more lonely than she expected it too, but she DID live alone now. To make a point, she stood next to Zac... whom was now a good few inches taller than her. Demy was still like a giant height wise. "I swear im the shortest 16 year old in existence." She laughed with good humor.
She walked away and left Zac to rummage around in his bag, and over to schee as she too sat down. "Ooooy only if YOU do it. Miss shorty mic shortson here, cant reach" She shrugged before flopping down in her chair.

"Miss shortie-mc-shortson, may be surprised to know that thy have a new, and amazing invention." Zac said with a tone of authority and deep secrecy. "It allows even the short people of the world, such as ourselves, to reach things normally kept from our reach, raising us with relative ease to giraffe like heights..." He bent conspiratorially towards her. "It's called.... a ladder." He leaned back out of reach with a chuckle

"I'm not the tallest person around either! ...Well out of the three of us, yeah, but I always thought I was kinda short....guess not huh?" Here he had to laugh, but it was good natured at least! His fantastic five foot six wasn't amazingly tall, but well...it was something.
"Maybe we should get her a ladder! Or one of those little stepping stools or something...but Beth I'd totally help you put up lights. You know me, anything glowing and awesome, I'm there!"

"Oh you!" She pouted, batting at Zac only to miss each time as he backed away. "Do you see room around here for a full ladder?" She eyerolled at them both, boys! So frustrating. "Step stool maybe, ladder..... maybe a ladder the size of Oreo, then he could help too."
"I would love the help demy! Besides, maybe ill invest in stilts." She said devilishly, beckoning Zac to the table so they could play the game. "Or high heels, i AM a girl afterall!."

"HA!...I grew!" He said folding his arms and sticking his chest out. "Bring on the high heels Beth... I may not be done growing EITHER... I had to get longer trousers too!" He looked particularly smug about that since he'd been starting to flash 'ankle' in his old uniform. He did at least take a seat and studied the game with a skeptical stare... "...You realize that Dem has an unfair advantage for reflex based games given how much SUGAR he is capable of imbibing."

"He was mad I grew while sleeping." Demy flashed his own smug smirk before helping set up the game. Which...mostly involved dumping the bag of tiny white balls into the middle of the board where the hippos could reach.
"Heeeeey, I didn't have much sugar today! Only like..one Rockstar and some candy. That's -light- for me and you know it Zee, hrmph!" He folded his arms, sticking his tongue out at Zac for a moment before quickly unfolding them and placing his hand near his hippo. "Cmon Zee, just -play-!"

"Ugh i stayed the same size while sleeping... darn you both!" She stuck her tongue out, but followed up with a short laugh. She really enjoyed these two being around, they were good company.
"...How much candy." She looked at him accusingly, wondering if their classifications of 'some' were similar. Some to some people was a tub of ice cream VS a spoonful, it varied!
"...Well, lets go!" She said pulling out the bad of little white balls and dumping it into the game.

"SOME with you is so entirely relative...and you were asleep for long enough I'd be willing to bet it dropped your hyper-point by several spoonfuls of sugar. " He griped back though he DID look pleased that he was still taller than Beth.
"Ridiculous game..." He muttered.
