Insane laughter could be heard from every direction for leagues. No other noise could be heard, the male's presence alone seemed to trigger ever animal with four legs to run. The stench alone which lingered about him often did the trick. It was the stench that was often was related with death. The dried rotten smell of a corpse breaking down into its initial elements, decomposing. It was the perfect explanation for why he was named the way he was, Lurking Death. Death seemed to follow in his wake.
The male had been wandering alone for quite a while now, killing as he pleased, Krokota, prey and wolf alike. Death was always in the wake of those discolored paws. Almost always its was by his tooth and claw. Oogie Boogie was quite obsessed with killing the innocent. The first time he killed caused him to go insane some would say, other may say he was just born this way, nothing but the instinct to kill all. The life's blood flowing out from a fatal wound, it was all that was on his mind. He was searching now, searching for his next victim to kill.
Friends, who needed them, all he needed was death, that was his driving force in life. When his next kill would be drove him forward increasing his madness. who or what he killed it was it didn't matter. Blood and death was all that mattered, it was his driving force.
Small giggling attacks erupted from him as he continued on thinking about how he would attempt kill who he encountered next. He loved ripping out his prey's heart while the creature still lived, though that always seemed to be the hardest to attempt, they always seemed to die in the process.

Star Heard the laughter. "Do you hear that Amber?"
"You know I do" She laughed.
"Okay, lets go see who the hell is making all this damn noise."
The two ran towards the cackling, they smelled the death, it didn't stop them, maybe they were too curious for their own good? They eventually reached the thing that was making all the noise, and giving off that smell. Why did he smell of death if he wasn't dead, and there was nothing dead around him. Something just wasn't right here.
"You! Who are you, and why are you making so much damn noise! And why do you smell of death? Are you sick?" Star felt she had to yell, there was something she didn't like about this guy, he made her feel nervous.
"This guy is kinda scary..." She whispered to star.
"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you." She couldn't let anything happen to Amber, she was her best friend, she would take the fall if anything happened.

False Self smelled him long before he heard him. Admittedly, he did not realize that the stench was a Krokotas at first; he had hoped it would be a filling - if not entirely tasty - meal. Even when he heard the cackling, he still did not connect the two. It was only when he got closer, and saw that there was just one Krokotas, and no decomposing corpses, that he realized that smell was him. That lone Krokotas, laughing to himself.
False Self eyed him from a distance, and was surprised when the two other Krokotas approached the laughing one, accosting him with questions. He hadn't even smelled them! It must be him; his stench was clouding False Self's nostrils. However, if it worked for them, it had probably worked for him as well; he doubted the others knew he was there, mere footsteps away.
He battled internally on whether to join this tete-a-tete, or simply move on. Eventually, curiosity about this strange Krokotas won out over his usual method of ignoring all other creatures that weren't food, and he stepped out so that he was easily visible to the others.
"Pleasant group we have here," he quipped. "What's the party about?"

Operations were proceeding according to plan. The land was good, prey was plentiful, and the number of his followers was growing. Mikhail was quite pleased. He couldn't ask for more; at least, not without appearing greedy. He only wanted what was rightfully his, but he knew, take things at a steady pace and chances of success were high. Rush matters, and one risked everything for the sake of a single foolish mistake.
No, Mikhail was smarter than that. He'd be patient, working steadily towards his goal, which grew closer and closer with each passing day.
He was appreciating the richness of this land, the wealth of its prey and other resources when a number of vibrations, growing rapidly in strength and number, caught his attention. His eyes narrowed, his other senses focusing on the disturbance heading in his direction. The burly male braced his paws, facing the fleeing beasts without fear. Mikhail feared no other beast. He never backed down.
And Mikhail didn't run.
Grinning instead, looking dangerous with his teeth showing, he actually laughed. "Seems there's something interesting about. Perhaps we should investigate," he smirked, stalking off in the direction the animals had been fleeing from. Another black male Krokotas, this one quite a bit less imposing than the first, but still not to be taken lightly, followed after. He paused once to sniff the air, then wrinkled his nose at the strong scent. "My lord, there seems to be a number of others gathered nearby. It's hard to say how many, but the scent of death is in the air...perhaps there has been a battle. Some might be injured," he suggested, padding after the decorated chieftain with a respectful air."Are you thinking what I'm thinking then, Mabuz?" the chief responded with a devilish grin."Aye, my lord," he nodded, picking up his pace to keep up with the larger male. "New recruits, perhaps, if willing. Or even if not," he added in a casual manner, both Krokotas grinning at one another as they slipped up within sight of the gathering. The stench in the air was making it hard to determine much from scent, but the sounds were chaotic enough to have to sort through. Shouting Krokotas, manically-laughing Krokotas, and one male who seemed...mildly amused by it all?
Mikhail and Mabuz were.

A small smirk crossed the male's face as the two females were drawn to him. Good, his prey came to him. The less energy he spent on looking for prey the more energy he could use to kill it. When the third made its presence known his face fell a bit. Two krokotas he could handle, killing a third might be difficult, but it wouldn't stop him from trying. Insane laughter exited his mouth, "Well, well, well it seems the hunt has come to me. What a lucky day it has been indeed." He showed his toothy grin his teeth forever stained pink with the blood of those who had passed his path before. Oogie's head tilted to one side as the male opened its mouth. Stupid male, maybe he did have a chance after all.
Giggling once more Lurking Death began to circle the three attempting to push them all in towards each other. "I wonder Missy, why do I smell of this wonderful scent? Though soon you will need to worry not for you will soon become my scent." as he spoke his eyes went cross-eyed, his mind was already lost within the hunt. The fact that he had been alone most of his life was driving him insane.

"Fall back Amber" She hadn't realized he was insane, she had to get Amber out of here. "Amber, run home and send Icy, I don't want you hurt, just point him into the direction, don't come back" She whispered.
"I'm scared but I refuse to leave, you may not think I can fight, but I know I can, even if Icy is going to be a night, I'm still just as good." She moved forward next to star.
"I just don't want the pack to lose both of us, if I die, you can become the chief, but with us both of us gone, it will fail...." She didn't look back, but she was really pissed.
"I'm sorry but you are not dying here, he is just insane, if we work together, we can take him, please trust in me." She begged star to understand.
"Fine, We won't end here, I just haven't been around a real insane krok since I was a child, and I was lucky to get away there..."
The two backed up more, so they will have more time to think when he attacks.

False Self felt a twinge of nervousness run down his spine, but he did his best to ignore it. He'd survived his crazy father, his crazy pack, and countless other crazies; this was no different.
Okay, this was a little different. This guy wanted to eat him. That was definitely new.
False Self glanced at the two females. The brown-one seemed determined and strong, but that golden one didn't show much promise for a fight. Regardless, there was definitely strength in numbers, and since he was traveling alone, he knew more than anything that even a simple injury now could mean death later. It was far better to not risk it. Three against one were excellent odds in a normal situation, but this Krokotas was far from normal.
Even as the stranger circled them together, False Self inched towards the two females, making sure the stranger never got behind him. "Looks like it's us against him, huh?" he said in their direction, keeping all senses focused on the Krokotas circling around him, hunting him.

Mikhail was quick to assess the situation. Either they could continue to watch, see how events unfolded, then step in afterwards to deal with the fallout, or he could interfere now, possibly gaining one or several still-healthy individuals to his cause. Willing or no, which might affect their health as well, but still, at least he gave them a chance, right?
Of the females, the brown one seemed strong, both in body and in spirit. Definitely the more dominant of the two. Yet, the lighter one wasn't without her own merits. The single male that had joined them in the circle was intriguing as well. There was a scent about him that caught Mikhail's attention, peeking his interest. He'd like to know a bit more about that one and his strange tattoos...
And then there was the wild one. Like beastly rage given four-legged form, he stalked around his kin, regarding them as little more than food. So vicious, so blood-thirsty, yet entirely mad. If that energy and rage could be contained and directed...what a weapon that could be! "My lord?" Mabuz sounded hesitant, but wishing to know if he might be let in on what his leader was thinking about so deeply.Mikhail chuckled, a dark smile crossing his muzzle as he turned to face his follower. "There is much potential here, my loyal friend," he murmured, his voice quiet as if sharing a very dear secret. "Now, odds are against us attaining total victory here today, however...we may yet make off with some of the spoils. Perhaps we ought to make sure we're not taking damaged goods in that case, hmm?"Mabuz listened carefully, then nodded in understanding. "Indeed, my lord. It wouldn't do for yourself to end up with damaged property."The pair exchanged a knowing grin, then Mikhail led the way, Mabuz close on his heels. The decorated Krokotas strode boldly towards the gathered group, his pawsteps sure and solid, his posture confident with no sign of hesitation. He was flanked by the smaller male, but all eyes were drawn to his imposing frame.
"Ladies...gentlemen," he stated clearly, nodding to each in turn, as if this were a casual meeting of friends. "Fine day, is it not?" He flashed a charismatic smile at the group in general, then turned his attention towards the top of his priority list: the deranged male who smelled of death and destruction. Perfect.
"Friend, I'm sure that's very tempting and whatnot, however," his smile turned conspiratory. "Perhaps I could offer you a temptation even greater than your previous plans for today."

"Sounds good to me, I won't let you get harmed." Amber looked at the new male, then looked back at the crazy krok.

Mouthless Bounty was wandering through the woods. After a decent afternoon of rambling, he came upon the presence of several nearby Krokotas. He smelt evil intentions off one in particular. Relatively quietly, Mouthless Bounty snook closer to the situation. His ears and eyes twitched with every gust of wind; he was weary of the situation, but wasn't about to turn around and go back the way he came. A beast that smelled of death was threatening a group of three, one leader-looking figure had just stepped in-between the assumed hunter and hunted, looking for a solution. Mouthless Bounty was baffled. He never understood how some Krokotas dealt with confrontation. He sat down behind the bushes, and continued to observe and study. His paranoid eyes darted around the forrest trees, as if he were waiting for conflict.

False Self was startled by the new presence, far more so than he had been by the smell, strange laughing, or even intent of the strange Krokotas. The strong female had said something, but it appeared as distant whispers as soon as False Self beheld the dark new Krokotas.
Even if it weren't for the impressive bear fur trappings, it was obvious this new stranger was a Chief if only by his attitude and presence. False Self didn't even notice the other Krokotas by his side at first, so captivated he was by the Chief.
The Chief didn't have a similar appearance (well, beyond being a Chief), or a similar smell, or even a similar voice. In fact, every physical thing about this Chief was different, and yet, False Self couldn't shake that gnawing, uncanny similarity the Chief shared with him. Maybe it was the way he walked, or talked...
False Self couldn't put his paw on it, but it was undeniable. Several years he had been searching for answers to his questions, solutions to his problems, and here they all seemed to have found him. He hesitantly took a step toward the Chief, bowing his head in reverence, completely losing track of the crazed Krokotas.
"Oh Great Chief, you do not know me and I do not know you, but I offer myself completely and willingly to you, for you to do as you please."

"If death is on the menu then yes today is a fine day indeed," the insane krokota laughed. Once more the stupid male did something...well stupid. Giving his complete loyalty to a complete stranger. He should just kill the idiot now and be ride of the krokota's stupidity. When that thought came to his mind a smirk crossed his face. Yes, that was exactly what he would do. Without any warning Oogie Boogie made an attack on False Self, teeth wide attempting to bit upon flesh and draw the life's blood from the idiotic male.

Star watches as the insane one attacks. She goes on the attack head butting him away from the creepy brown male away. "You think you can attack a krok while they aren't even paying attention? You are insane aren't you?"
Amber seeing star stopping the attack on the one krok, she fallowed suit biting his hind leg, mostly just scratches tho, she was very nervous around this krok, she is normally brave, but the crazy krok made her lose her nerve.

Mouthless Bounty, startled by the sudden lunges of both Oogie Boogie and Star, reeled back, turned on his heels to run away, and smacked his forehead into the tree behind him. A dark Krokotas with eye catching... eyes... leapt into the scene. Civil had been bounding through the woods, looking for some prey, and heard the commotion. Without thinking twice, she threw herself into the situation and landed beside Flase Self. After a quick "I am Seeking Civil" introduction, she asked the seeming leader, Mikhail, what she could or should do to help. Civil had always been empathetic, loving and understanding. It drove her crazy to find beings on this earth that had anything but good intentions towards their fellow Krokotas. She would always do everything and anything she could to help somebody out.

Well, he may not have been the initial target on Mikhail's list of priorities, but he'd certainly take a willing servant. The only sign of any surprise he may have felt was a slight quirk of the corner of his mouth, and one eye widening slightly for only a moment. While he kept his attention on the unstable Krokotas, he did offer a pleasant look to the white male, offering his servitude. "Then, perhaps we could remedy that somewhat. I am He Who Slays the Beast, or Mikhail...but you may address me as 'Lord' or 'Master'." He followed this with a soft chuckle, that may or may not have indicated the level of seriousness with which he delivered the statement. "And what name does my new follower answer to?"
That was when all hell broke loose. The unstable one seemed to snap, launching his attack towards the white male. Well, Mikhail wasn't about to stand by and let his new, and seemingly devoted, servant be harmed. With a snarl, he positioned himself between the ruddy male and the white one at his back, bulky frame posed for attack. He'd been about to aim a powerful shoulder tackle at the wild Krokotas...when the female stepped in. Well, Mikhail's scarred frame did much to speak of his fighting experience, but he was no fool. Why put one's self at risk when others were willing to do so for your same goals? Besides, he had no need to expose his true fighting ability if it wasn't necessary.
Instead, he held his position, protectively in front of Mabuz and his new follower, fur bristling and a vicious snarl speaking well that one would have to be insane to challenge the Chief in this mood. Maybe the white male was a new follower, but he had sworn his life to Mikhail, even without knowing much about him. That made him Mikhail's property in his mind, and he wouldn't stand for anyone threatening his followers.
Only he could do that. Mabuz hung back, letting his lord take charge, but ready to rush to Mikhail's aid if he so called for it. As it was, he regarded the new white male with an appraising eye before he was distracted by another disturbance. Nearby, a male that had been watching in the distance apparently had panicked at the action unfolding and run himself into a tree. Not exactly inspiring the most confidence in being a capable Krokotas, but Mabuz wondered if perhaps he should go check on the stranger; perhaps he might be worth attempting to recruit, perhaps not.
Then the dark female arrived. As his lord was busy, Mabuz stepped in to answer for him. "Seems to be a volatile situation, miss. I'd suggest watching out for yourself first, but if you can do that, maybe keep your eyes open for trouble. That wild one there seems intent on hurting someone today. Make sure it's not yourself first, then maybe make sure it's not anyone else." Could she maybe be worth recruiting as well? He wasn't sure yet, but maybe with some observation, he'd be able to make a better judgment.
