Name: Autsu Nicknames: 'tsu, Comrade Hair: Blue, and cut very short. It's his practical warrior look. Eye Color: Blue Skin Colour:Black. Other features: Huge blue wings. Talents: Skateboarding. Ability: Autsu is an excellent warrior. He's good with guns, knives, and passable with a sling (thanks to Kian). While he is lightly built, he's also very good at hand to hand combat. This is because he spends every day (yes, every day) training. It is the center of his life. So yes, he kicks a lot of a**. He works hard to do so. Favorite Colors: He doesn't seem to have one. Likes: Sethos, Sussare, his Father, Kian, his skateboard, physical activity, training, weapons, the Unit. Also, Narin. Dislikes: Change, his body, overt displays of excessive emotion, taking the leadership role. Arrogance! Also, Narin. Personality: Autsu is close to his father and brother, but tends to treat others with a polite distant. He bounces back and forth between periods of extreme activity, and sulky, depressed silences. He refuses to talk about his past, but it can be assumed that his distaste for being alone is something left over from his past. Verbally, he's formal, something that comes not from his past but from his current environment. He's never been taught any other way to speak. There is a deep brooding sadness too him, and a lot of regret. He pushes past this mostly with his sense of duty, focusing on what must be done, and what should be done. He also copes through training, and this he does obsessively. He is indeed, obsessed with keeping himself in perfect fighting form. In part, because he defines himself as a soldier, but mostly because fighting keeps him from thinking. He's not brilliant, and not good at a lot of abstract thinking. For this reason he often tries to avoid the deeper moments of contemplation.

About Kniene Name: Kniene Nicknames: None Hair Color: Dark Auburn Eye Color: Green Talents: Bow and Arrow, moving without sound, public speaking. Magic: What the Lady chooses to grant him. Favorite Colors: Autumn Colours. Rich reds, deep browns, and warm golds. Likes:The Autumn Guard, change, gryphons, dancing, The Lady, things that remind him of home. Dislikes: People who don't know how to change, prejudice, irrational fears. Personality: Pious and devoted to his Lady, the Goddess of Autumn. Kniene is willing to try anything once, as long as it won't cause anyone harm. While not especially talkative, he weighs his words carefully, but speaks with wisdom when he does. He finds the modern world somewhat confusing, his own place of origin is much more 18th century. He views the strangeness of Gaia as a challenge to his devotion to change, and tries not to turn down anything odd that happens to cross his path.

Di'Esuth's father was a soldier, his mother a blacksmith. The couple had three female children already, and wanted a change of pace. A boy. So they set about carefully leading the youngster away from anything that might be considered safe or nurturing. It was encouraged to get in fights, was taught to shoot a gun as soon as it could hold one, and was generally led toward the life of a soldier. It worked. Di'Esuth developed male, and set on following in his father's footsteps. When he was old enough, he joined the military. Di'Esuth, due to his rough and tumble upbringing, wasn't much for taking orders. The military was hard for him, and he didn't seem to fit right. He was a superb fighter, great with a gun or in hand to hand, but he simply wouldn't bend under the authority of others. He was, in short, a young punk. But a skilled young punk, and a bright one at that. He got shifted around quite a bit, but never kicked out. Eventually, he ended up working for the palace guard, under the command of a man who knew how to give passionate youngsters a little space. Di'Esuth flourished, rising quickly through the ranks and becoming something like a model soldier. He still went clubbing during his leave, but without a commander constantly getting in his face, he was capable of showing respect. Eventually, at the age of twenty-four, he found himself guarding the twenty year old prince of Ex'Di'Ne. Ex'Narin was, to say the least, the jewel of the court. Males were extremely rare among the Ex and they hadn't had a king in generations. Kings were said to be lucky. Di'Esuth was a harsh, coarse punk of a soldier, who often forgot to watch his language in front of the prince. Ex'Narin was a pampered court flower, with an insane drive to get himself in trouble, go riding, flying, swimming. Anything with activity. He loved sparring, and chose the talented Di'Esuth's methods over his Ex battle teacher. What else could happen when two boys in their early twenty spent all their time together? They fell in love, or at the very least, in lust. Di'Esuth offered passion, action, and change. Ex'Narin offered a cutting wit, grace and intellect. It wasn't hard to keep their affair secret at first. Di'Esuth's job required him to spend every waking moment with the prince. And didn't somebody have to stay with him at night? He was the precious and rare male heir, after all. Di'Esuth, being a good soldier, was only too willing to volunteer. But it got harder. Ex'Narin was to pick a bride, and other soldiers got jealous of Di'Esuth's favored position. They had less than a year together before another one of Ex'Narin's personal guards caught them together. And that ended it. It had to. Intercaste relationships were strictly forbidden. And to dare to bed the one, the only, the precious prince? High Treason. Ex'Narin was scolded. Di'Esuth was first thrown in prison, then sent to Gaia, like so many criminals before him.

Gacafsa is a small planet, often considered rather backwater by those that don't reside there. It's primarily tropical, with about 60% of the surface taken up by oceans. There are four main continents, three of similar size, and one smaller island continent. Each is ruled by its own government, but a planet wide league is in place. The continent that concerns us is the island, called Ex'Di'Ne. Of the four continents Ex'Di'Ne is the most traditionalist, with a history and culture that can be traced back to the very birth of civilization. Grand ruins pepper the continent, and the people take great pride in their connection with their history. Ex'Di'Ne is tropical in climate, with a large rainforest stretching over the majority of the landmass, interrupted occasionally by huge cities. The Capital city is located on the northeastern coast of the continent. Ex'Di'Ne has a very strict caste system in place, and it's nearly impossible to move up or down through the ranks. The highest cast is the Ex caste, the equivalent to a noble and ruling class. Though the ruling family has changed from time to time, they are always from the Ex caste. The next caste down is the Di caste, a craftsman and merchant class. People of the Di caste can buy, sell, and create goods. They can be soldiers in the High Army, or officers in the Low Army. The lowest of the three is the Ne Caste. People of the Ne caste are destined for backbreaking labor. They can be farmers, servants, or soldiers in the Low Army. Though the three castes must interact to make the society work, they don't intermingle. There is no intermarrying between castes, and if an intercaste relationship is discovered, the punishments can be very harsh: heavy fines for the higher castes, imprisonment for the lower. Gacafsans are, as a species, almost obscenely adaptable, and this is the root of Ex'Di'Ne's traditionalism. All Gacafsan's are nominally bipedal reptilians, but beyond that, the details tend to shift a bit. When the young hatch they are a pale white and genderless. From there, they adapt in the manner most suitable to their environment. Adaptions, once made, can not be unmade, and with each specialization comes a certain amount of difficulty. For this reason, it's very dangerous for the young to be exposed to too much. They might end up adapted to everything, and thus incapable of living anywhere. Ex'Di'Ne's extremely structured environment is one way to deal with this danger. Instead of explaining every subspecies on the planet, which might take awhile, we'll just explore those on Ex'Di'Ne. The residents of the island continent all have dark hued scales. Those who live near the shoreline have increased lung capacity, and those who make their living off the water have been known to develop gills and webbing between their fingers. Most suffer, to some extent, of drying and cracking scales, and either need to spend much of their time in the water, or use expensive oils to prevent the drying. Inland residents have a hard time digesting meats and live primarily on the abundant plant life around them. They are capable climbers, many with 'wings' developing as flaps of flesh between their arms and torso that allow them to glide from tree to tree. Ex live lives of luxury, their every need catered to. No work is required of them, except leadership. They are incredibly intelligent, crafty, charismatic, and excellent speakers with impressive carrying voices. They also require a lot of care. They are slender, beautiful but fragile, and their diets require a extensive blend of nutrients to keep them running. The majority of Ex grow up to be female, and thus males are highly prized. Di are the most various in sub-types. A Di blacksmith will develop strength and tolerance to heat, while a Di jeweler will have keen eyesight and delicate, nimble fingers. Most Di need a lot of food to keep them going, though their needs aren't as exotic as the Ex. They don't tend to develop quite the same level of intelligence, though the rare musician might have an incredibly creative mind. Most Di grow up to be female, with the exceptions of those raised to be soldiers. Soldiers are largely, though not exclusively, male. The Ne are strong, resilient and need very little sustenance to survive. They also require little sleep, and are mostly immune to the hot sun and near constant rain. They have 'street smarts' but lack the kind of intellect that wins wars and writes novels. Most Ne are male, and thus females are highly prized.

Fellow Inmates Fionn- I met her when I was very young. It turns out she's one of us. I thought she might be. I would like to meet her again, she seemed like she had a warrior's soul. Otieno- A comrade. He has very sharp teeth, I like them. We sensed a sameness in each other, I think. I would like to meet him again, now that we could speak. Ein- She is one of us? I have a hard time believing it. However, I like her. She is no soldier, but she is a sweet child. She is fun, and there's a purity about her that I lack. She does not have the anger that I see in the rest of it. Kian- Anne is an ally. I trust him, and I think he trusts me. We will find a meaning for this life, the two of us. We are both soldiers and we need a reason, something to fight for. Like me, he hates this idleness. I feel that we can help each other, in the way of allies. Jera- A comrade, for the time being. I am not entirely sure how far I can trust her, but she agreed to become part of the unit, and that counts for much. She is a centaur, which is interesting, and seems like it could prove good for fighting.
