((Setting is about something like this, just at the edge of a forest where the trees are super thin and it turns into plains [X])) It was early morning, with the sun just rising in the distance. The warm, golden light touched upon the open plains, casting it's glow over tall, brown grass damp with dew. Mist began to form as the dew evaporated, but not before the sun hit a blood-red pelt belonging to a giant creature.
Faiza liften her head from her paw and looked around. It appeared to be time to wake up. The Phim stood and stretched, yawning and shaking the wings on her back into place. The wings were not her own, but rather props she wore to balance her body better. She was a rarity of her kind, born without wings of her own.
The wings made navigating through forests akward, so she prefered living along the border of forests and plains, or up in the mountains. She didn't really have a place she called home yet.
Faiza stood at her full height and looked around. The mist was thick, and it was hard to see very far. The sunlight didn't help, coloring everything gold and making visibility, if possible, worse. She could see a reasonable amount within a five-foot radius though, so rather than wait for the mist to evaporate she set off along the forest edge, using it as a guide.

Seika was up before the sun. She was in a new part of the world she'd never seen before, and this hazy, watery floating around the ground had turned out to be fun to play in. Seika looked for shapes and batted the wisps that her movements would kick up. Even flapping her wings gently created a response; the gray stuff started billowing and creating more shapes.
The red Phim was bouncing happily along, pouncing and generally having a good time in the mist. Suddenly, one of her more exuberant bounces carried her straight into some one else. Shaking her head lightly, Seika looked to see another Phim...or at least she thought it was a Phim. It didn't seem to have the right wings though.
"Hi!" Seika chirped happily, completely undeterred by the other's odd appearance. "I'm sorry I ran into you."

To say Faiza was startled by the presence of another was untrue. The fog made everything a lot quieter, so she'd heard the newcomer before she had seen her. The surprise came when the newcomer slammed right into her!
Faiza made an "oof" sound when she was first knocked into the ground, feeling the air leave her lungs. She couldn't respond to newcomer, or even really get a look at them, until she got her breath back.
Finally Faiza could breath again. She thought she heard a voice, but there was still a ringing in her ears. While her hearing came back she turned her gaze to the one who must have run into her. She wasn't very surprised to see a Phim, since she could have sworn she heard flapping just before she got hit. She did find the colors interesting, a vivid, glowing red that was streaked liberally with green, and a few other colors thrown in. It was all very bright.
Faiza blinked, and tried to regain her focus. "I-I apologize, I did not quite catch what you said." The ringing in her ears was finally starting to die down.

Seika watched the Phim regain her feet with some interest. Those wings didn't seem to be a part of her. This was an odd Phim to say the least. When she asked for a repeat of what the red phim had said, Seika didn't mind, she was more than happy to repeat herself. And she did, in her patented rapid-fire dialogue.
"I said: 'Hi! I'm sorry I ran into you!' And I am. I wasn't paying much attention, I was playing with this..." She trailed off and batted at the mist around her. "Strange stuff. I dunno what it is, but it's fun to play with. Are you okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?" She asked, not noticing the fact that she was jumping from one subject to another. "I really, really hope I didn't."

Faiza had to stop herself from tilting her head, a natural reaction to confusion. This bright-colored female seemed to be very.........bubbly.
"It is called mist," she said, flicking her tail up and seemed the tendrils that had gathered in the fur drifting. "When the sun rises the water on the grass goes up into the sky. It appears as something of a cloud upon the ground, and will vanish when the sun rises higher."
She twitched her limbs, testing the strength and bend. As far as she could tell everything was in place. "There does not appear to be any damage." Faiza didn't even turn to check the wings on her body. The things were remarkably sturdy, something like a small fall wouldn't damage them.

Seika was relieved that this new person she had ran into hadn't gotten hurt because of her. She was always doing silly things like that. Her younger 'siblings' were always telling her so. "I'm glad you aren't hurt. I really like this stuff though." The red Phim continued to bat at the mist, trying to make funny little patterns.
Seika looked at the wings and walked a circle around the other phim to see all of them. "Wow, those are cool. Although I don't think I've seen another Phim with wings like that. You are a Phim, right? Deava's have bat wings like those, but you look like me, not like Iris." She could also tell the wings weren't attached by anything more than some straps of leather or something.

Faiza shook her head, backing up a pace or two. Normally the dark female had an aversion to her own kind. There was just something in the way the female acted, almost kit-like, that took away some of the edge from her aversion.
"I was born without wings. These are simply.....gifts. Props, if you will." That was the best description Faiza had for the wings. She figured they were deity-given, because she certainly couldn't think of any humans with the ability to not only make them and slip them on her without her noticing, but also get them to fit perfectly.

Seika looked the other Phim over, wondering if the vixen felt bad about not having wings. She merely looked matter of fact, however, so Seika just smiled instead of feeling pity. Not having wings wasn't a big deal. Seika hadn't had wings when she was a kit and she had been fine. With that logic, the red Phim waved her tail through the rapidly disappearing mists.
"Gifts?" She asked, wondering who had given them to the Phim. "Gifts are great! Especially since those wings look good on you." She said happily. A small, thoughtful frown marred the red Phims features, "What does 'prop' mean?"

"That depends on how you use the word," Faiza replied. "For this instance the word prop means for show. Decoration, if you will. These wings do not function as actual wings would." Of course she could open and close them to varying degrees, and even move them up and down a little, but their range of motion was pitifully limited when compared to the real wings she should have been born with, that this female in front of her had been born with.
