so Im gonna try out for section leader and I wanna know what are some drills or musicality things that I can do to help my section I have a few ideas for musicality but I draw a blank when it comes to marching. A musical thing that worked with us last year was Pant Breathing and playing Scales as loud (blasting loud) as possible than trying to play them musically but still loud and it really worked we got really high scores musically but our marching was a FAIL it brought our score down tons so i need to think of a good thing to work on with it

and if i dont make it this year i will the next year

That sounds like some pretty good ideas. I'm the trombone section leader in my band, and my section is the biggest. It took some work to get everyone to balance with the best of the band sweatdrop trombones aren't exactly known for blending...

haha i would be going for low brass section leader and i know your pain being the only trombone this year im lucky though my sound on trombone is not as harsh as most trombones so it isnt as hard for me luckily

It wouldn't be very hard for me....a lot of the altos in my section suck.
