Another uneventful night. Thank god, Luke had no necessity to repeat a certain incident again. Luke constantly reminded himself to check the cameras situated near the back before leaving instead of possibly opening the door to a deadly red riding hood's welcome. His shift was nearing to it's ending but hadn't reached there yet with customers still asking the bartender for their drinks to be made.

"... Let me tell you 'bout a girl who changed my life
She's a triple threat and she's just my type.."

Luke was humming to a song he recently discovered on youtube, his head rocking back and forth, foot tapping in rhythmical beat. Luke was mixing up a drink when somebody called out to him from the back, that there was somebody waiting for him outside. Apparently, in a casual bar such as this, no secrets could be kept hidden for long, your business called out in front of customers and employees alike. Of course, somebody waiting outside was nothing unusual for employees who got rides from their friends or friends loitering around bar, awaiting for their shifts to end to converse or some sort of other business.

It was just highly unusual that the person waiting outside for Luke was rather young.

Kaatje had actually just turned eighteen, and would have resented being characterized as young. The redhead was both jet-lagged from a trip home and entirely jazzed to know that if she wanted to she could go into the bar. She just couldn't drink, which was... stupid, since in Germany she was two years over the drinking age. But she didn't particularly care to get in trouble with a fake ID or something, she would rather just wait outside.

Her hand felt bulky, painful and constrained--it was all over stitches and bandages, but at least nothing was burned. And she looked tired. She hadn't been sleeping well lately for more reasons than one, the largest one being she really didn't want to take pain medication that would knock her for a loop when she knew for sure youma could get into her home. Into her room. Really not cool, really not conducive to feeling safe. Like, ever.

She ran her left hand over her hair, ensuring there were no bumps in the tight bun. It was a good time to show off her upgrade to Luke--she'd beat him to that, at least, and it made their six-to-three competition a little moot. She was more powerful now. Of course it'd be easier for her to look after him--not like she wanted to. Kaatje scowled, twisted her fingers in a loose lock of hair. She didn't even like Luke. Right!?

Luke wasn't off yet-- hence, the mission of the spy sent loitering towards the door. It was another employee, approaching Kaatje, opening the door to let the light filter in on the now-age-appropriate teenager, dumping a bag of trash into a nearby dumpster. "He's not off yet." This black short-haired lanky male informed her, standing next to her, arms crossed, back against the wall. Unspoken, he was silently covering for the female as Luke had asked inside the bar. After all, it wouldn't be good for the bar to gain a reputation of assault now.. or anytime, really.

"Luke doesn't usually hang out in the company of nice girls. " He commented, glancing towards Kaatje. "What do you see in him?" He arched an eyebrow. It was the topic of the kitchen-- Luke's company tended to be made up of .. people with a lack of morale would be a better way to phrase it. Bar girls would be one. Nice girls were not.

As if it wasn't clear that she was a nice girl, the second the stranger approached her Kaatje's guard went up. Her eyes narrowed, her head tipped forward to guard her vulnerable throat; she tucked one hand under the fur-lined collar of her trench coat to tug it over the v-neck of the black merino sweater. She had learned the lesson of dressing too well, but the high quality of her clothing was obvious to anyone who looked, and this area wasn't exactly the safest she'd ever traversed. One hand she laid on the corner of her purse, tapping her fingers on the soft fabric.

"Oh," she said, "thank you." Her entire week had been spent waiting, she could afford to wait a little longer.

She narrowed her eyes, though, at the question. "What are you implying," she asked. "We have similar hobbies, that's all. I don't even like him." But the creamy skin was flushed pink around her collarbones, her cheekbones. "What. Did he send you out here to ask me that?" Because if he did, she would break his face. ... Once her hand was healed up, anyway.

"Hold your horses. I wasn't implying anything. Sheesh." He couldn't say he envied Luke for having such a high-maintenance friend. Everything he abhorred in a woman-- rich and complicated. At her next question, the man gave a skeptical scoff, eyebrows arched up in a silent message: You dont know Luke very well.

Anybody who knew Luke, knew he didn't bother with complexities. If you were there, you were there. If you weren't, that was that. No more, no less.

"Like he'd bother with that kind of conversation? No, it was just a question to satisfy our curiosity for now." As if, almost by cue, he straightened up the moment the door opened to reveal Luke in the bright doorway. The two bartenders were switching off now, as it would appear, when the lanky man simply left to enter the bar, sending a sideways glance towards Luke and a nod of confirmation. He had sufficiently done his job.

"He's off now." The curt sentence ended their brief meeting, closing the door behind himself to leave the two together. Euterpe, with one jacket in hand, was inserting an arm into it, putting it as on as he approached Kaatje.

"So what's up? Haven't heard from you in awhile."

Our curiosity? Who was "our"?? Kaatje looked ready to bite off someone's face with her beautiful, perfectly straight teeth. But right then, Luke came out; she backed off, mostly because her problem was with the dark-haired man and not the stupid blonde. "Are all of your coworkers such jerks," she asked, red curls slipping over her shoulder as she leaned forward to chew poor Luke out. "Who's curious about me? That kind of thing is dangerous, you know, I kind of have a--" her voice went low and secretive, true-blue eyes narrow "--a thing, you know?"

She was red-faced when she slipped back into a standing position, hand dipping lightly into her purse. "C'mon," she said, "let's go somewhere else." Kaatje turned, as if assuming he'd follow, and headed away from the security cameras.

Did those things have audio? God, she hoped not.

Luke didn't seem bothered over getting chewed out--- He already was half the time anyways. "Haha. Maybe you were rude first? You do have a nasty habit of coming off the wrong way, Kaatje." Luke chuckled, directly implying that yes, it was probably her fault. Obviously, from Luke's view, the man was being perfectly courteous. For him. "Maybe if you stop being so high maintenance, you might realize the virtues over flaws of people. Love thy neighbor, like the bible says." He twirled a finger, making a point to the stubborn female.

"A thing. Riiiiiiiight. I gotcha." Although Luke didn't really get it, he assumed it must have been her time of the month, right? That was the topic every girl was sensitive about--- Kaatje's time of the month. Oh. Not good for him. It meant being touche. While it wasn't physically healthy for him to be around Kaatje during her time, she called him out. He couldn't refuse. "Hey, it's simply gossip. If you're saying gossip is dangerous then the whole world's in danger by now."

Those cameras had audio by the way. Luke waved at the cameras before exiting the alley, knowing full well, the kitchen would be staring at it. (Hell, he had been staring at it on the way of taking out his jacket. Along with an audience of five others. As stated before, NO PRIVACY. Good going Kaatje.)

She rolled her eyes, trying for nonchalance, but from the way her shoulders hunched in she'd definitely felt that particular barb. It wasn't that she tried to be rude or off-putting, she just... it just happened, okay? From a combination of her spoiled, single child of a rich family upbringing and her own standoffish personality came that rudeness, and she didn't really know what she was doing wrong.

"I'm not Christian," she said stonily after a moment. "And I don't try to be high maintenance." She really didn't.

Kaatje brushed her hair back. "It is so dangerous." She checked to make sure they were out of sight of the cameras, hopefully out of audio range too. "Are you forgetting how long my list of crimes I'm wanted for is, Luke? It's like. As long as my arm. I've seen it in post offices. It's seriously enough paper to wrap something Xbox huge."

She yanked out the henshin pen, grinning then. Out of sight, out of audio range, out of mind; she held it up and called, "Check it out, anyway. Gunn Comet Power!" One intensely controlled firestorm later, Super Sailor Gunn stood before Euterpe in all her short-skirted glory. (The heels did wonderful things for those million-mile-long legs.)

"You dont have to be Christian to follow it." Luke encouraged, patting Kaatje on the back. It was okay, her personality could stay the way it was. He was sure there were other people who liked it the girl the way she was. He listened with half an ear, glancing to the side distractedly, almost as if a song was playing in his head.

(it was.)

"That's what the Sailor Gunn's wanted for. Not Kaatje. Just don't blow your cover and you'll be fine." Trivial problems were trivial. Kaatje could keep secrets-- it was just one more large secret added to the collection. He waved the issue away in dismissal. "Girls are great at that. It's your subspecies-- all the best villains are females. That's why, even Batman, can't find them out." He pointed out, walking along the way.

Why she called him out? Today's reason was impressive. Incredibly. Which prompted another question.

"We can level up?"

An even smarter question.

"...And what's that, a large A cup to C cup?"

PostPosted: Sat Nov 20, 2010 1:49 am

She wanted to stomp on his foot. "Don't say that out loud," she chided, narrowing her eyes. "Seriously! Do you want me to get found out?" Still, there was the whole reveal going on, and she could ignore his sexism to take revenge later. She was visibly more powerful than him now; she could do things like that.

Still. The look on his face. She propped a hand up on the smooth curve of one hip, the dark glove a stark contrast to the warm orange of her pleated skirt. "Sure we can," she said proudly. "You just have got to prove you have the skills. The highest is Eternal, I think." And he'd gotten his a** kicked on the way there! By Gunn! So wasn't that pretty awesome. She was still smirking when he asked his question about her boobs.

Damnit. Sometimes she still forgot about the cleavage.

"Actually, they've always been a C," she said, an impressive frown on her pretty face. "The fuku just made them look small before. Honestly, is that really the most important thing here, Euterpe? Hoping something in particular will grow if you ever level up?"

Gunn was a liar. They had never been C's. He was frowning now, his hand place don his chin in a thoughtful manner. He tipped his head, one side of his mouth deepening to make a crooked frown. The issue here wasn't her promotion. Not at all. Luke stared at her critically, examining her from head to toe. Wasn't upgrade supposed to come .. with more? Like motorcycles and capes and weapons?

(DAMNIT SENSHI GOT THE LOSING END OF THE DEAL)

".... Nevermind me and my exploits-- Girls love me. You were definitely not a C cup before. God, that shows a lot of cleavage. Aren't you concerned that a male is going to maul you or some other girl is going to hit them so hard, they'll---" He made a gesture, opening his hands, like an explosion or something similar, "--feel like they'll fall straight off?" He was concerned. Don't get him wrong. Chest size increases were great. However, in a fight of girl versus girl majority, wasn't that.. a disadvantage? "I thought girls always aimed for the chest first in a fight. Aren't you worried?"

He was totally missing the point. Totally, completely, missing the point of her upgraded status. The point was that she could kick his a** easy now if she wanted to! Ugh! She was about to inform him of this when he kept going.

His focus was definitely on her chest, and she pulled the edges of her bolero over the very painfully obvious cleavage. "Can you stop looking," she complained, rolling her blue eyes, "they are not going to start doing tricks." Ever. They really weren't. She narrowed her eyes at him. Someone mauling her boobs was not really her first worry, and neither was her chest exploding. They weren't implants. They were just displayed more to advantage! Honestly, she was going to hit him.

"Luke," she said, sweetly. Always a bad sign when a girl's tone rang of hearts and sunshine but her eyes were murderous. Especially when she'd just stomped on your foot and was currently grinding her heel into it. "Girls go for the hair. At least on other girls." And then, clearly sulking, she hopped up to the nearest rooftop and headed home.

Guys sucked.
