Territory
The chosen Mafuatano territory sits along the sea, graced by hills, thick trees, and the odd rock formation. The most important thing that's drawn everybody to the territory, are the Miracle Fruit trees growing everywhere.
The pride is located somewhere along the coast between the Bahari'mtoto to the south and the Tuait'tekhem to the north - A comfortable distance between Xavier's past-life relatives of his daughter(In the Bahari to the south) and his brother(In the Tuait to the north). Cert background The Wawa Aba - "Seed of the Wawa Tree"
History
First there was no pride, and then one built up. The history of the Mafuatano maluuni'matatizo is a very short one. One day, a nameless lioness, outcast from her birth-pride for being born with blue tail hair(As they never allowed ANY non-natural colors for fear of deeply offending Mkodi), encountered a strange rabbit-lion that she found out was a god. When she insisted on following him around, he referred to her as Ni'andama le'maluuni, and he was stuck with her. For a long time, she followed him, ever loyal to the cause of worshiping him. It was when they picked up a small cub, Najisi, that things truly began to form. And then others joined, and soon a pride had formed, and a home had been found. It was here that they worshiped the God of the Cursed, and his friend, the Goddess of Hardships.

Ranks
In total, there's 6 royal ranks, two 'periferal' ranks, two commanding ranks, and 4 ranks that are just "catch-all" ranks. I'll make a chart eventually to show how this breaks down in terms of power xd
King - 1/1 - Rules the pride along side the Queen Queen - 0/1 - Rules the pride along side the King
Heir/ess - 0/1 - The first-born of the king and queen's first litter. The title is gender-neutral, so there's an equal shot of the heir being male or female. Prince/ss - Partly limited - The non-heir royal cubs
Lord/Lady - The sibblings of the king or queen by heirship. Title means little for them besides "I'm royalty", as they are expected to hunt and guard like everybody else.
Priest/ess - Unlimited - Seers of the pride. Cub and juvenile seers simply have "Little" tacked onto the title.
History keepers - Unlimited - These are the lions that keep track of the pride's history, as well as, most importantly, family bloodlines.
Head Guard - 1/2 - Lead the guards. There's always two, one male and one female. Head Hunter/Huntress - 1/2 - Lead the hunters and huntresses. There's always two, one male and one female.
Guard - Unlimited - They guard the pride. The title is gender-neutral. Hunter/Huntress - Unlimited - They hunt for the pride. Default rank of all adolescent and adult lions. They may also be employed to gather fruit.
Youth - Unlimited - All cubs and juveniles of the pride.
Slave - Unlimited - A temporary rank; This is the rank that ALL joining pride members will hold post-pride creation. There will be a thread where the owner of the lion will roll a 6-sided die for adolescents and adults and a 4-sided die for cubs and juveniles to determine how many OOC months their lion will remain a slave. After said time, they may apply for a rank change to either Hunter/Huntress or Guard.

Beliefs
Primary god worship is for the Cursed and Hardships, though they DO recognize other gods. The Cursed and Hardships are primary, though, as one's wise to respect curses, and everybody suffers some form of hardships. That and they were the first gods that Ni'andama ever met.
As the gods are lions, only lions and lion hybrids are allowed in the pride. There's nothing that they hold against other creatures, but Ni'andama, the founding lioness, came from a pride where there were ONLY lions. Letting lion hybrids in is a start, at the least. One day this may change. In the interrim, lion hybrids are simply referred to as lions, to make things easier for everybody. OOC: What this translates down into is, yes your lion hybrid can join, and yes your lion can breed with a leopard or cheetah. The leopard and cheetah just can't stay as part of the pride.
Color is of no importance to the pride, so long as it doesn't blind. In small quantities, bright neon colors are alright, but if the entire lion is a bright, blinding color with markings in more bright, blinding colors, then it will be turned away at the border to spare others.
Everybody suffers hardships, it is a part of life. This is why the slave rank exists - So that lions who may have suffered no previous hardships can suffer at least a month's worth to fully appreciate it. For this reason, too, a short servitude is referred to as a curse, as a lion who spends 6 months as a slave better appreciates hardships compared to a lion who spends 1 month as a slave. OOC: Depending on the roll, and knowledge of how long a colorist might take to cert an SoA(Depending on life and other obligations), you can opt to wait to cert your SoA on the pride's cert until after they've finished their servitude(Especially 1 month), or you can go ahead and post now if you'd like to(If they're serving up to 6 months).
Families are carefully traced. This is a throw-back from Ni'andama's previous pride, and one she's more than willing to keep up for the sake of avoiding inbreeding(The closest the pride allows two lions to be related is 5 generations on one side to the common ancestor, and 4 on the other to the common ancestor). While the pride is open to others joining, it's still a good idea to avoid accidents. If a pair is caught knowingly breeding despite too-close relation, they and their cubs will be thrown out of the pride.
Names... Can be anything! Any language, any length, you can have last names if it makes it easier to trace... So, literally, ANYTHING.
Breedings are open as long as there's enough adults for the number of cubs to be fed. If/when there's 10 cubs to an adult, then breedings will close until the LAST litter hits adolescent... Then it'll open again. OOC breeding thing - It's only really asked of you to post litter information in the correct place. This will make it easier to maintain the members list smile
Cubs are precious, and thus are kept close within the pride. This makes it impossible for a rogue father to make off with any cubs from a breeding, as there WILL be guards around to protect the cubs. Agreement or no between mother and father, the cubs are the lifeblood and they prefer to know that at least one or two live to adulthood within the pride to further the pride's numbers. (For the moment, cubs are watched by Xavier... So any would-be cubnappers have to get through a protective God)
Items are things made from natural items found in the wild. Think wood, skins, rocks(This includes gems and precious stones!), shells, leaves, feathers, bones... The only exceptions to this are the priests/priestesses, royalty, and the head huntress/hunter and guards. Especially prized items tend to look like either roses(Either carved from stone or wood, made of rope or gems, from shells, or, most prized of all, an actual rose), or a Fleur de-Lise(As referred to by Ni'andama, "A funny pointy leaf thingy!"), the best-known symbols of their patron gods.
Familiars are perfectly fine, and need not actually apply if they're attached to a joining or existing member! They are, in fact, ENCOURAGED. Why? Because... Dun dun dun, one of the patron gods has one(Two)! If a lion comes in with a hare, they're given great respect, since hares tend to be very flighty creatures(Don't let Brahma fool you, he's just insane), making them THE most valued familiar for a lion to obtain.
On the topic of homosexual lions - Homosexuality is a controversial thing I'd rather be introduced to the pride in a CONTROLLED manner. This means some sort of small plot around it. Ni'andama has no concept of it, thus Najisi's growing up with no knowledge or concept of it. While Xavier and Yutu DO know about it, they've never told either Ni'andama or Najisi, so that they can learn on their own and form their OWN opinions about it. For this reason, I'd rather it not just pop up in the pride, but rather something worked out with EVERYBODY in the pride. Understand that not all people agree with it, and I'd rather remain neutral on it myself, but if somebody violates my request, it WILL be banned from the pride on the spot. Please note that bromances/heterosexual life partners is okay(Two same-sex lions so close they're like brothers or sisters), as that will be interpreted as treating each other as siblings, but if that evolves into full-blown homosexual lions without prior consultation with the FULL pride, they WILL be kicked out and it WILL be banned on the spot. This is the ONLY warning I'm giving everybody, because I prefer it worked out. IF it comes to pass as okay in the pride, then I will ask you to RESPECT others' likes or dislikes. If a person has a family in the pride that frowns upon it, then I expect owners to respect this and not have their lion in the family suddenly come up gay. If you're given a cub, and the parents' owner(s) tell you the family frowns upon homosexuality, and to please keep this in mind for future plots, and your lion comes up loud and proud, you will be politely asked by the pride mule to either have the lion be far more discreet and secretive about it, or have the lion LEAVE. As said, I want things to be PEACEFUL in the pride, both ICly and OOCly. I like to avoid the drama, please smile

Traditions
Ni'andama brought no traditions from her old pride, having been pretty much outcast from it from birth. So every tradition has been built up from scratch, or brought in from other prides by new members.
Because Xavier has such an adoration of fruit, Ni'andama decided a good tradition would be... Gathering fruit. Why? To offer to the Gods, of course! As Gods don't HAVE to eat, Xavier's love of fruit is purely that - He just LIKES to eat it, because he finds it tastes good. The belief about this tradition is that it will appease Xavier, and he'll be more likely to ward off curses by other Gods.
Being a new pride, the pride IS open to new traditions, or additions of traditions from older prides, even collapsed prides smile To a point, anyway. As stated by the colorations notes, there will be no classes based on color, and in somewhat relation to this, there will be no sacrifices based on coat colors. There'll be no sacrifices, period. They'd freak Xavier out a bit...
