marzipanz It was difficult to keep on the path of what little dry land was scattered on the outskirts of this swamp. She wasn't entirely sure where she was but she knew where she was headed. Just on the other side of this bog was the familiar forest where she often spent nights huddled up to Cobb. It wouldn't be long until she was there now, but the sun was already below the horizon and the twilight was turning to nightfall. "Dear... I wish I had just taken the long way..." she muttered under her breathe as she eyed her surroundings. cheshirekttty Boi-Tatá lurked within the shadows of his cave as he watched the sun set. His vision had never been very good during the day, but at night it was excellent. He wasn't entirely sure if his eyesight had always been this way, or if he had simply grown accustomed to the dark. Whatever it was, he avoided the light if he could, only coming out after the sun had set. Deciding it the shadows of the trees would be enough cover for him, the stallion made his way out from his cave. The sun had all but set now, and he could see his surroundings perfectly. Nearby he noticed as an owl swooped down upon it's prey, a silent killer, nothing but a slight ruffle of wings and then it was gone. To his left he could hear an alligator creeping back into the water. This was his swamp, he knew it well and he had learned his way around it. marzipanz The sounds of chirping birds was growing softer and softer as Maisie forced her way through the bog. She was literally having to struggle to get through the thick gunk that lined the flooring. Her hooves were covered in a dull brownish green and her expression twisted into that of disgust. She had been traveling straight since she entered this place, knowing that a bee line to the other side would lead her straight to where she wanted to go. However, now that the sun was setting and her eyes were having trouble adjusting to the darkness she was starting to panic and look all directions whenever she heard the faintest sound of a twig snap or the call of a owl. She finally stopped in her tracks, feeling herself sink a little in the soil, "Goodness... where am I? I just want to get out of this terrible place..." She began to start walking a bit quicker now, making more of a commotion as she carelessly stepped on branches and kicked around squishy goo. cheshirekttty Upon hearing an odd rustling noise, Boi-Tatá quickly spun to face whatever it might be. The creature that had made the noise was far too large to be any of the regular swamp creatures, only someone his size could have made such a noise. Bo carefully made his way through the swamp fairly quietly, towards the area he had heard the noise come from. He could hear somebody trying to walk through the marsh, obviously unaccustomed to the muck. Carefully, he peeked through a nearby bush and saw an unfamiliar mare. Bo grinned wickedly at the sight of her. She looked lost and, well, quite easy to scare. It had been some time since he had had anyone to lure into his swamp. There was nothing more satisfying, to him, then leading another into the swamp and leaving them trapped and lost. Carefully, Bo let his many eyes shine out to the mare for just a moment and then closed them as he silently moved back a little ways. Oh, this would be fun indeed. marzipanz There was a sudden rustle in a nearby bush that had been far noisier than any of the previous sounds so of course Maisie reacted the way any frightened mare would. "Ah!" she cried out and shuffled her body around so that she faced the outline of the plant. She squinted her eyes and noticed a glowing bunch of eyes. Usually there'd be only a pair but there were about six eyes give or take a few. The sight scared her all the more but she couldn't look away. "H-hello?" she called out, expecting the creature to either jump on her and swallow her up or take it's time and rip her to shreds. The radiant group of eyes seemed to be sinking back int the bush though. Perhaps she frightened him off? "E-Excuse me... w-wait..." she stumbled closer but all her instincts were telling her to run the other way. She was always the kind of girl to flee first before getting to know somebody. However, now her curiosity was getting the best of her and she wanted to know exactly who was staring at her. She took a shaky step forward and hoped for the best outcome. "Wait, please. I'm lost.... do you know a way I could get out of here?" she spoke to the eyes as she followed them beyond the bush. cheshirekttty Bo's grin widened as he watched the mare follow him into the darkness. It was such a pity for her that she had fallen into his trap. He wasn't sure where she had been headed, but she wasn't all that far from the edge of the swamp. Perhaps if she had gone a little further she could have been home free, but now, he was about to draw her into the heart of his swamp. He continued to lead her with his eyes, trying to stay silent and keep his body hidden. It wouldn't do him any good to be caught before he had finished his game. marzipanz Maisie bit her lip as the creature that concealed itself in the shadows remained silent yet kept it's eyes on her as it backed away. The sight gave shivers up and down her spine but the idea of it fearing her kept her at least a bit confident that she wasn't in harms way. "I'm not meaning to frighten you off... please. I just need some assistance..." she stumbled a few times as she tried to hurry after the eyes, finding it difficult to keep up when her hooves kept sinking into sink holes. The area seemed to be getting heavier with humidity and the trees grew closer together as she was lead into the center of this eerie marsh. By now she knew there was no way she could ever find her way out on her own now. Her only option was to catch up to the eyes. "I-I said s-stop!" she snapped at them finally, her timid frustrations taking over. cheshirekttty Bo's eyes twinkled with pleasure as the little mare snapped at him. He knew he had pushed her to her limit, but he planned to push her more. The stallion wondered what her breaking point would be, and just how long it might take to find that wonderful point. Without needing to look, Bo knew that he was near his cave, near that dark place where he had been abandoned as a foal, the place that both served as a home and a reminder of what he was. Bo-Tatá made his way over to his cave and then, slowly, he stepped out of the shadows that had hidden his form from her. He gave her a few moments to take in his cloven hooves, the bits of the marsh that seemed to be a part of him, whatever it was that she might see.

marzipanz Maisie felt her eyes starting to dampen as the creature didn't listen to her. She was so frustrated and frightened right now that she just wanted to break down and cry but her will to escape this cursed place was to strong to quit now. "Are you listening to me?! Hey!" she shouted but perhaps he didn't know her tongue? Maybe he wasn't familiar with her words? All the sudden though the beastly male stepped into the dim light of the moon that had finally risen up above the trees. She could make out his monstrous features now and that expression that just screamed danger. She stumbled back a few steps and tried to dash away but the muck had a hold on her hooves and with the force she used to try to leap away she clumsily toppled herself over and she hit the ground hard. Silly mistakes of that kind often lead to fatalities. cheshirekttty The stallions eyes flashed as he grinned his wicked smiled at the mare's terrified looking expression. He even let out a little chuckle as she fell in the swamp in her attempt to escape him. "My dear," He spoke to her sweetly. "There's no escape from this place. You're far too lost to find your way out on your own, and I know this swamp better then you know your own mother." Once again he chuckled to himself and then started to look around, as if searching for something. "Nefarious!" He shouted into the cave. Within a few short seconds a little otter waddled out to greet his master. He grumbled a few moments before spotting the mare. "Oh, I see your master has a guest. What a pretty little thing she is, yes she is." He cooed towards the mare. "Are we expecting her to stay long?" Nefarious asked his master. "Yes, Yes I do believe we are." Bo told the little creature. "Go fetch her something to eat please." And with that the otter was dismissed and Bo-Tatá turned his many-eyed gaze back to the mare. marzipanz The whites of Maisie's eyes grew as she stared with a horrific stunned expression. So it had been this stallion's plan all alone to have her follow him deeper into this hell? She should have stuck with her instincts and did what she does best. Run. Now it was far to late, but she promised herself if she ever got a second chance she'd never doubt her instincts again. She lifted her body off the ground with a bit of struggle since her coat felt heavy with the gunk that glued itself to her from falling. Her bright yellow eyes turned up to him since he was larger than her. The muck was splashed up on her face, dirtying her pretty pelt with such disgusting substances. He roared out a monstrous cry into the cave and Maisie darted her eyes, expecting something just as horrific as he was to come out to feast upon her but instead a tiny otter revealed himself and spoke of her beauty, causing her to pull her ears back with embarrassment and lower her head. It wasn't often she received compliments so even in a situation such as this she was easily effected by them. When the green coated stallion confirmed her long stay she shook her head, wanting to speak but not finding her voice. She was so chilled to the bone with fear it was difficult to even bring her stare off the ground. After a few moments of nervous silence she forced her courage to shine through. "I-I... I can't stay here. You must understand, I need to get back to my little one..." A simple excuse to leave this place while she was still in one piece. cheshirekttty Boi-Tatá laughed a rather wicked and joyous laugh. Did this mare honestly think that he was simply going to allow her to walk away now? After he had gone to all that trouble to capture her and lure her here? Now that was a humorous thought indeed. "Did you hear that Nefarious?" He asked the little otter. "Seems she has somewhere else to be, too bad she forgot to cancel her plans for the week isn't it? Guess they'll get the idea when she doesn't show up." The stallion set about clearing a bit of space in the cave for the mare, otherwise ignoring her. His cave had become so musty and dusty and dirty, when had it gotten like this? It wouldn't do for him to have any company in hear. "Nefarious!." He shouted again. "Be sure to clean this place up a bit too. We do want our guest to be comfortable." He paused a moment and then continued on with his wicked grin. "For now." Marzipanz Maisie was taken back by his sudden laughter and didn't see what was so funny about her question. She took a few nervous stumbles away from him, not trusting the male. It seemed whatever he had planned for her would be lasting the week, of not longer. She glanced at the little otter before up at the multi-eyed monster. "Y-you can't just... keep me here. I have somebody to look after. If you don't tell me how to get out of these forest he'll be so alone and frightened. He's only a foal!" she was feeling her blood boil slightly at how he didn't even care and ignored her completely. cheshirekttty He sighed a little at the mare's protests. Why did they never just come quietly? It really would make both of their lives easier if she did. He didn't know who this foal was the she mentioned, but he wasn't about to let her go, he had survived as a foal and he turned out just fine now didn't her? "I'm sure he'll be fine." He told the mare. "I grew up in the swamp alone and I survived didn't I?" He stated more then asked. He watched the little otter clean up and finally stepped inside the cave when it was ready. "You ought to come in, there are far worse creatures then me out there." He warned her and then proceeded inside. marzipanz Maisie bit her lip and felt rather upset that he wasn't reasoning with her. She didn't want to stay. Especially with this creepy mean man. "I.... I don't... I don't want to!" She huffed at him nervously, knowing that she might be pushing some buttons on the stallion. When he told her to step inside for her safety she glanced around herself, wondering if it was true. What could be worse than this? Still, the noises in the middle of a swamp were rather terrifying so she cautiously stepped towards the cave and slid around him silently to approach the back. She huddled up in the corner and bowed her head. "When can I go home?" She asked, sounding as if she was surrendering. ----------- 15 posts -----------cheshirekttty He was glad when the mare stepped inside. It would be much easier to keep her in the cave safe and secure. It also meant that there would be less chances of her escaping. He knew that while he slept, Nefarious would keep a watchful eye on her and alert him at any attempt that she made. "Home?" He said almost puzzled. "My dear girl, this is now your home. You don't need that silly old place anymore. You ought to just forget about it, it'll do you more good to come to terms with that now. Though I suppose you could attempt to run away in the swamp if you'd like. However, you'd be more likely to stay lost and be eaten by the gators." He smiled his rather wicked grin, trying to be dazzling but the affect may have just come off as creepy instead.

marzipanz Maisie was growing more and more hopeless with the words that escaped his mouth. They leeched the joy right out of her and left her looking rather dreary. Tears even began to swell up in her eyes as she looked away from him to hide her weakness. "Why don't you just tell me how to get out... what good am I? There's no point in keeping something like me around. Really, I'd do you no good..." She insulted herself. Most would think it was a sad excuse for freedom but she meant every word of it. She was damaged like that. cheshirekttty Ignoring the little mare, Boi-Tatá simply chuckled to herself. She might be a little dreary right now, but he could see potential for this mare. Oh she would make a fine toy, a fine toy indeed! He looked around a moment for Nefarious and then spotted the otter not too far off just outside the cave. "Ah, Nefarious!" He called out to him. "Have you got that hay yet? Think she's getting a bit hungry over here, though I can never tell, they never tell me anything, not a one of them." Bo seemed to pout with this remark. "My dear, I have plenty of use for you. What a wonderful toy you shall be." He told the mare as if it were the greatest privilege out there. "You ought to rest, we can play in the morning. Nefarious will bring you a bit of food to eat here in just a few moments. The swamps finest, oh yes! Quite delectable really." He continued on. marzipanz ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3 Days Later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maisie had beeing going on with his orders and demands, sometimes declining them and yet she always did what he asked. She was a bit to afraid to honestly disobey him, and she wasn't one to upset people. Especially the people who she feared. She woke up and squirmed slightly at the feeling of something missing. "N-Nefarious?" she mumbled as she sleepily fluttered her eyes open. Oh yes, she had grown quite comfortable around the small otter. She always liked the ones who were significantly smaller than she was. It brought a sense of comfort to her and last night she had insisted sleeping with the furry critter. "Nefarious, where'd you go?" She whispered, not wanting to wake her keeper in case he was sleeping still. Boi-Tatá was a eerie stallion, but Maisie had learned to look passed his unusual characteristics. He had never harmed her, nor had he insulted her to much, and besides, he was the only stallion who had ever wanted to make her his. Maybe there was more to this than enslavement. cheshirekttty The little otter waddled around outside collecting food for his master's breakfast. There was still a bit of time before he expected the stallion to wake, and he was a little shocked to hear that the mare was already up. He wasn't sure what his master planned on doing with the mare, but Nefarious had warmed up to Maisie a little and had done what he could to try to make the little mare feel as comfortable as possible. At the sound of her voice, the otter waddled his way back into the cave. He stopped just at the entrance, checking to make sure that Boi-Tatá was still asleep and then continued in. "Yes, yes, I'm here. What does the little mare need?" He asked her quietly Marzipanz Maisie bit her lip and scooted her way closer to him before craning her neck out so that she could reach over and nuzzle him. "I just... I fell asleep with you next to me and when I woke up you were gone. I was just startled is all..." she eyed the entrance of the cave and noticed a small gathering of food. She suspected that the little otter was already hard at work to keep his master happy. "O-oh... is that for... him?" she asked, nodding of to Boi. "Maybe I could... help you? A little otter like you can only carry so much..." she went and got up already, starting to tip toe her way towards the entrance. CheshireKttty Nefarious eyed the mare cautiously. Her help would be welcome indeed, but what if she escaped? His master would have his head then, oh yes he would. Then again, Maisie hadn't ever really tried to escape before, and he doubted that she was about to start now. The otter pondered a few moments longer then was polite, but eventually came to a decision. "Yes, yes." He told her. "Pretty mare can help. Too much for Nefarious, take shorter time with help." He bobbed his head as he spoke and then began to lead the way out of the cave. Marzipanz Maisie let her eyes stay glued to the fluffy little critter as it took it's time thinking. It was quite obvious that Nefarious was cautious with her, but she could understand why. Like him she had a paranoid mind of her own and always liked to take the safe roads when available. When he finally accepted her assistance she smiled brightly and inched her way out of the cave, eyeing Boi as she passed by in silence. She eased her way out of the enterance and began to follow the other loyally. Her eyes did glance around from time to time, wondering how far the end of this swamp was, yet thoughts of actually leaving never arose. "Nefarious... does... Boi like me? I mean... like me like me.... you know what I mean?" CheshireKttty At the mare's question, the otter paused for a moment. What an odd thing to ask. Did the master perhaps have a thing for this girl? Nefarious supposed that it was possible but mostly unlikely. Boi-Tatá never did keep a mare too long. He'd usually tire of her and then leave her off in the swamp somewhere, or if he was feeling generous he'd lead her out. But he'd never actually kept one indefinitely. "Nefarious thinks possible, not likely though." The otter told the mare. He wasn't sure what she was hoping to hear, but he did hate to disapoint. "Master never really keeps one mare here long. But perhaps this time different?"

Marzipanz Maisie felt her hopes rising as he thought it was indeed possible for Boi to actually be developing feelings for the girl. The idea of being wanted made her heart flutter, and yet the ending of his sentence crushed her dreams as quickly as they were bloomed. "O-oh..." she spoke with uncertainty and allowed her head to hang a little with disappointment. Her ears perked up at his words explaining how this time might be different. "So... h-he .... he has done this before?" It made her feel even worse to think that she was just one of the many he had kept but a determination began to bubble up inside of her. She'd have to prove she was worth keeping. She'd be the best mare he had ever lured into his swamp. She'd make him never want to give her up. "Hopefully... yes...." she forced a faint smile to her lips as she looked down at Nefarious. "So what does your master enjoy eating for breakfast. I want him in a good mood today..." CheshireKttty Nefarious felt himself flinch at the mare's first reaction, he really did hate to dissapoint anyone. However, she seemed to perk up quite quickly and the little otter was more then happy to help her stay that way. "Well, Nefarious picks grass here in clearing. Master loves this grass, makes him happy and not mad." The otter beamed up at Maisie, glad that he knew something that could perhaps help her out. Marzipanz Maisie smiled as the sweet little otter spoke of how the stallion enjoyed the tender grass in early mornings. "Oh, how wonderful. Then lets make sure to pick plenty of grass for him. Surely with both of us helping each other we'll get a nice meal for him." She smiled brightly at her new little furry friend and wandered around before finding a perfect little patch of sweet grass. She leaned down and began to pull large pieces from the soil, shaking off the dirt as much as she could. "Oh, Nefarious... do you think you could pick the little dirt specks out as well as you can? I would have for him to have to taste mostly dirt." She wished that times like these she had nimble little digits like the otter. CheshireKttty Nefarious smiled as the mare began to pick the grass for his master. He was happy that he could share the work and please both the mare and his master at the same time. He had just begun to start collecting some of it himself when the mare made her request. Nefarious cocked his head to the side in a little questing manner. Pick the dirt out? He hadn't ever really thought about that before, he supposed his master had just gotten used to the taste. "Sure, anything to help the pretty mare." He told her, and why not? If it made her happy, then he would gladly do it. Quickly he scurried over to the pile that she was making and began to pluck out the larger clumps first. Marzipanz Maisie eyed the tiny mammal as he called her pretty yet again. She had let it pass the first time, thinking it was a mix up but then why would he say it twice? Her cheeks began to burn with embarrassment as she drew her ears back slightly. "Thank you, little one," she leaned down and gave the otter a quick nuzzle upon his head before returning to picking the grass. A few minutes passed add there was quite a large bundle of grass now, all picked clean and ready to eat. She was tempted to snack on it but having a feast for Boi was far more important. "Now how to get it back safe and sound without dropping any is the tricky part." she looked around curiously, trying to see if there were any tools for such a task. "Any ideas Nefarious?" CheshireKttty Nefarious was pleased that the mare had enjoyed his compliment. It wasn't often that he had company other then his master and he preferred to make any company he had feel as good as possible. He was trying to come up with more ideas to help her, when she spoke next. The otter pondered for a few moments. He usually just took back mouthfuls at a time but it took far too long for that. Perhaps they could tie it up and put it on her back? Yes, that might work. "Vine?" He suggested. ----------- 30 posts -----------Marzipanz Maisie tilted her head at the little suggestion that the otter presented and she gave a definite nod after pondering it for a moments time. "That sounds like a clever idea, Nefarious. Such a smart little fellow you are." She smiled brightly at him and began to wander around the swamp, looking for the best vine for the job. She finally found a long and strong whip and dragged it over to the otter. "This will do?" CheshireKttty The little otter beamed with pride at the compliment he was given. It was so rare that he ever had any good ideas that he was quite glad to even have it acknowledged. Nefarious watched silently as Maisie looked around for a vine and then finally selected one. He nodded his approval to her as she brought it over. "Very nice." He told her, and then quickly set about the task of tying the vine about the grass in a neat little package. Perfect for holding in one's mouth or placing upon her back.

Marzipanz Maisie wanted to take care of the bundle so she gently leaned down and bit at the vines so that they wouldn't come undone. She lifted it up and nodded gently for Nefarious to climb upon her back as she knelt for him. "I don't mind giving you a ride," she spoke with a mouth full of slimy vines. Sure, they were disgusting to taste but it was better than risking the bundle falling off her back and spilling all over. CheshireKttty The little otter hesitated as Maisie offered him a ride. Yes he liked the mare, and it was obvious that she liked him, but what would master think? How could he ride her? Master had never even allowed him upon his back. Then again, master wasn't here. Master would never have to know. Carefully, and still hesitant, the otter climbed upon the mare's back. He knew that their travel back would be much faster this way and cause the mare less irritation. Nefarious felt a sense of anticipation forming like an knot deep within his stomach. What would it be like to ride up that high? Marzipanz Once the little critter grabbed and tugged at her fur to get on Maisie's face twisted into one of discomfort, but it was only for a split second. As soon as Nefarious rested upon her back she rose back to her feet and began a quick pace home. She was so glad that she could hurry now with the little otter riding her. She wanted to make it back before Boi had a chance to wake up. "How are you doing back there little one?" she asked to the otter as she lightly galloped back the way they had came from.

Nefarious held his eyes tightly shut and hung on for dear life. The ride was quite thrilling but the speed was a bit much for the otter.
"Fine." He squeaked. Not wanting to bother the mare. He knew that if he walked their pace would be much slower and the master might wake up before they returned. Nefarious gave a shudder at the thought and held on tighter.

With grass in their possession the purple hued mare felt as though today was going to be a glorious day. How could Boi even think about getting upset over anything when he had a full stomach of his favorite breakfast? Her only concern was 'what if Nefarious lied to me?' However, that made no sense at all. Why would this sweet little otter be out to cause her suffering? He didn't seem to be like most males she had met in her lifetime.
It was a relief to hear he was doing well back there, seeing as how she could glance back to check on the tiny mammal. The risk of running into muck or a decaying tree was far to high of a risk in a place like this. Maisie could recall the first night was nearly unbearable. The smells that this swamp held were toxic and yet now she hardly noticed the stench. It seemed as if she were getting used to this atmosphere. Maisie couldn't tell if this was a good thing or a bad thing just yet.
Finally, which all her cantering the mare reached the mouth of the cave at long last. She peered into the dim lighting of it before venturing inside, timid and cautious in her steps. What if Boi was awake already? For somebody who wanted to please him so badly it seemed as though she feared him at the same time. Perhaps that was the real reason behind her strain to make him happy? To get acceptance and not have to worry about angering the stallion. She just wanted to feel safe for once in her life.

Boi-Tatá was just beginning to stir as Maisie and Nefarious made it back to the cave. He hadn't been entirely sure where the mare or the otter had run off to, but he figured that his captive wasn't very likely to run off. Although, she had begun to bore the stallion. Boi wasn't sure why, but keeping Maisie around had become less and less entertaining. Perhaps it was simply because she was always too obedient? She seemed to be interested in keeping him happy. Most of his other hostages had, at the very least, tried to escape once or twice. Yes this mare had made no effort to leave.
The stallion let out an inward sigh. Perhaps it was time to let his pet go. There would be more to come, and he never did enjoy keeping things around that he wasn't particularly fond of.
"There you are." He snapped at Nefarious as the otter made his way into the cave. "I hope you've brought something to eat, I'm starving." He snarled, feeling rather irritable this morning.
