He decided, here and now, that he didn't like the jungle. While the fruits grew much nicer here, the way it felt to be in the place was... Less than pleasant. The humidity was mostly what got him. He thought he hated ice and snow before... He found himself hating this even more. The god pushed his way under a branch, letting out a low growl as it scraped along the ridge-mane going down his spine.
Wrapped up in her own problems, Uli actually heard the other lion before she saw or smelled him, and only missed being spotted by the grace OF hearing them. Finding a place to hide, she found herself staring at the strangest looking thing she'd EVER seen. What in the world WAS this thing? As she crept after, she wondered just where it was going and what it was up to.
A long ear moved back, before the other, soon followed by rather ANGRY violet eyes. "Is there ANY reason you're following me?!" Having two lions follow him was enough, he didn't need any MORE following him! What was it with him and attracting the weirdos? Was he wearing some sort of sign that said 'follow my absurd domain'? Not that lions could really READ... Maybe it'd have a blob of him with lions bowing....
Uli gave a start, jumping several feet in the air. No sneaking up on THIS one, was there? The way his eyes angrily bore into was far from unnerving, too. She didn't particularly LIKE it. "I was just seein' who you ARE, 's all... And what you are... Are you a product of Muhali's influence on the pride?" He had to be, he was too weird looking to NOT be! He looked like a half-spirit, almost... Part lion, part hyena. Somehow.
Muhali, Muhali... Where had he heard that name before? He couldn't say he'd ever MET this Muhali, but maybe he'd heard their NAME... "I'm as real as you are." He turned, walking up to her, with his eyes narrowed. "I'm a lion, I'm a god... My name is Xavier. Are you wondering what my domain is yet?"
"Freaks?" She wasn't trying to be insulting, really. It was a general and genuine guess. "I really can't begin to come up with anything here... You look so... DIFFERENT..." She paused in thought. "Well, you're not the God of Song, that's for sure. You don't look like you can sing!"
Oh, that was it. In a flash, Xavier had the lioness pinned to the ground. "I. Am. The God. Of the CURSED." He leaned in close, letting out a low and menacing growl. "Brother to Loneliness... Which I bet you have... Am I right, little mortal...?" He backed up, watching her. He could feel an odd sensation pass over him. Maybe it was the land.
Uli began to laugh. Was it fear, was it insanity? Who knew. As she got up, she grinned at him. Brother of Loneliness...? "It's not easy having yourself a good time... Greasing up those bets and betters, watching out they don't four-letter... Bung and kiss you both at the same time..." She stalked close to him, slapping him in the face with her tail tip. "Smells like something I've forgotten, curled up died and now it's rotten!"
Xavier growled, ears folded back. "I'm not a gangster tonight, don't wanna be a bad guy, I'm just a loner, baby, and now you've gotten in my way..." He turned, smacking her down and pinning her. He didn't use claws, though the threat of them was clear. "I can't decide, whether you should live or die! Oh, you'll prob'ly go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry.. No wonder why, my heart feels dead inside, it's cold and hard and petrified! Lock the doors and close the blinds, we're going for a ride!"
Uli struggled, shoving the paw off her face. She didn't get far, though, still pinned to the ground. Was he killing her or what? "It's a pain convincing people to like you... If I stop now, call me a quitter! If cats were lies, you'd be a litter!" She used her claws on his paw, watching in delight as he reeled back with a roar. "Pleasing everyone isn't like you..."
Shaking his paw, the god glared. "Dancing jigs until I'm crippled, slug ten drinks I won't get pickled..." He paced around her, tail lashing. "I've got to hand it to you, you've played by all the same rules! It takes the truth to fool me, and now you've made me angry!" This time when he lunged, she was dodging and avoiding. "I can't decide, whether you should live or die! Oh, you'll prob'ly go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry!"
"No wonder why, my heart feels dead inside, it's cold and hard and petrified! Lock the doors and close the blinds, we're going for a ride!" She suddenly took off at a run around him, jumping on a tree and vaulting onto his back. "Oh, I could throw you in the lake, or feed you poison birthday snake, I won't deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone! Oh, I could burry you alive, but you might crawl out with a knife and kill me when I'm sleeping, that's why..." While her claws sank into his back, they didn't do any damage. Or not much, at least. She let out a grunt as she was tossed off, glaring at the god.
The Cursed god grinned, stepping closer and looming over the lioness. "I can't decide, whether you should live or die, oh you'll prob'ly go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry... No wonder why, my heart feels dead inside, it's cold and hard and petrified... Lock the doors, close the blinds, we're going for a ride!" He reached out with a paw, hitting it hard across her head. It wasn't hard enough to kill, but if it worked as he'd hoped, when she woke up, she'd have a hell of a migraine.
Uli let out a grunt, before the word swam. Pain exploded in her head, as everything started to go dark. It started at the edges of her vision, before it closed in at the center. The glaring violet eyes was the last thing she saw before blacking out.
The god let out a grunt, staring for a moment. His back twitched, before he turned and looked at it. The knock to the head was certainly payback enough for that... But then, she seemed to like jokes, didn't she? He'd have to have just a little fun... Using the advantage of his size, he shifted the lioness to his back and carried her away. He deposited her on the ground again some distance from the border, though still within it. She'd wake up to see the edge of the jungle, and question what had happened. Making certain she wasn't in visible sight of danger, the god turned and left. He'd leave these lands to Muhali... Blessed or cursed lot, he wasn't about to mess with any more than this one.
