Arrival
Roleplay as a new recruit arriving on a bus. Roleplay first the driving of the bus and then the arrival. Do NOT puppet the Training Instructor, any other characters, or anything else other than your character. You may roleplay that the bus has arrived, but you may not roleplay any factors on the external of the bus, including it's whereabouts or it's drop-off location. If any of these things are broken, they will be expected to be fixed, and your post reposted in it's fixed state. If not fixed properly, or at all, then you will be asked to repost it again. If you are not familiar with roleplaying, I ask you please read the AMP and guide to character creation. For a general synopsis, roleplay your thoughts, and basic ideas of the situation at hand. Be creative, but do not be overzealous. Remember, this counts as your ticket to becoming a member of the branch of your choice. Also, please try to exploit correct grammar and spelling skills to the best of your ability.
You will be expected to respond to my posts, and to issue your best ability in order to join.
When preforming an action, you must first make a roll. Rolls are decided , typically, by stats and various other variables. In order for you to preform an action, you must first make a roll. To do this simply, merely make a "Roll post", or a post with a roll of the appropriate level, and once your realize what your roll is, go back and edit your post accordingly. If there is an OCC area, you may make your roll in there, and then post your roleplay in the appropriate area.
First Roll
One of, or at least your first posts in Basic Training, will inevitably include a roll. To make things simpler, the way to properly perform this roll will be posted below.
This will basically be doing a push-up; a single push-up. To do so, read accordingly and try to formulate a way to actually do the roll.
Push-up = Stamina + Strength. Essentially, combine strength + stamina and apply yourself to the following criteria below.
The following is your push-up level, according to your total combined Strength + Stamina:
1. 0 Push-ups
2. 5 Push-ups
3. 10 Push-ups
4. 20 Push-ups
5. 40 Push-ups
6. 80 Push-up's
7. 160 push-up's
8. 320 Push-up's
9. 640 Push-up's
10. 1280 Push-up's
So, if you say, had 3 stamina and 2 strength, your push-up level would be 5, and so you could theoretically do 40 push-ups in a sequential row with no more than 3 seconds in between each repetition.
When attempting to do push-ups, you must a roll equal to your Strength + Stamina. Bonuses received are equal to the maximum number of push-ups you can do divided by 5. So, if you have strength 5, or can theoretically do 40 push-ups, you would roll your strength + stamina, or 5, plus 8 for your bonus if you were attempting to do 1 push-up. Essentially, if you are at strength 5, you have 13 die to roll if your attempting one push-up.
However, this is only applicable for the number of push-ups preformed per five below your maximum, rounded down to the nearest 5. So, let's say you were attempting to do 25 push-ups. Your maximum total is 40, so you would subtract 25, get 15, and then divide 15 by 5, totaling 3. This number, or 3, would be your your total bonus die added to your base roll, or 5, giving you 8 die to roll when attempting to do 25 push-ups. If your bonus die number over 25, you are completely exempt from a roll all together.
Similarly, if you were to attempt to do 40 push-ups, you would receive no bonuses at level 5. You may as well, do the reverse; if you were to attempt to do 45 push-ups, you could subtract one die from your total push-up level; so, if you were at level 5, you would only have 4 die to preform 45 push-ups. This bonus push-up level at the price of a subtracted die may not exceed or match your level; so, if you have level 5, the most push-ups you could possibly do would be 60, with a single roll to determine whether or not you could.
A failure results in 50-75% of the push-ups being done, were as a dramatic failure results in 0, with you possibly passing out, throwing up, or becoming injured.
As a Note
As a Note, the
AMP (Version: 2) is a general outline for certain specific recommended roleplay actions. Despite being made a long time ago, the AMP still carries a large amount of influence of roleplay in general, and serves somewhat as a guide for certain kind of actions that should be avoided. Remember, even if you understand and follow the AMP correctly, always try to be as detailed and literate as possible, even if this involves detailing the most minute or mundane of actions. Your writing a story and essentially trying to paint a picture; the more brushstrokes you use, the easier it will be to paint a good picture.
