There was a rush of... There wasn't sound so it had to be silence, didn't it? A silence that was so profound that it was as loud in its own way as the violence of noise the moment before had been. It was joined by a swirl of colors across white space and then...

It was dark. She heard a breeze through some leaves, blades of grass poking the spot right beneath her good eye... and there was the smell of soil and rotting leaves. What happened to the city?

The grass tickled and Vic shifted only to gasp and shudder in pain. Oh right. Broken collarbone. "s**t." Her head took the cue to start throbbing and remind her of the head wound she'd also received... which was probably the reason her eyes felt gummy and wouldn't open. Blood did that when it sat long enough.

So what? Did those guys she'd been fighting just go dump her out in the country somewhere? That didn't make sense... She was a merc and bounty hunter and had any number of enemies that would have paid handsomely for a chance to do her in themselves, or worse. One of them probably hired those goons to jump her in the first place. So why...?

Something didn't feel right. A lot of things. Vic lifted her arm to try and rub at her eye, lips pulled back in a grimace at the pain. Why wouldn't her fingers... where were her fingers? She scraped claws across her face until she managed to tug her hair away from her tech-eye and stared at the end of her appendage. Paws. She had paws. And long ears and a set of tails now that things were beginning to register in the rest of her body.

User Image Forest. Solitude. Peace. Blissfully content with the surrounding silence, Kaale'Indon nestled down in the shadow of a great oak tree. The same one his adopted guardian used to teach him under when he was a young pup. It was a place that brought him a sort of serenity. A place where he could calm, and sort out whatever he had witnessed in the day. If he continued to remain confounded he would consult Chaos, his adopted guardian. But lately he had been trying to figure things out on his own. Establish some sort of independence. He sighed and set his head down on his paws, his hair waving around on it's own, like medusa's curls.

He'd had an encounter with a truly terrifying creature today...Amadeo was it's name. It truly startled Kaale'Indon to the core, the way this one behaved, and was just so...he shuddered, trying not to think about it anymore, when all of a sudden, there was this horrid noise.

Startled and suddenly alert, Kaale'Indon raised his head, to peer at the form of another Kitsusagi crumpled not too far from him. He held his breath, and slipped into the shadows, watching this new arrival. There was soft movements, followed by cursing, followed by movements that held an exploratory nature to them. And then another string of curse words. This creature was alarmed, to be in this form.

He had heard tales around his home, of others who have gone through something similar to this. Cautiously he stepped forward, his shadowed feet not leaving a sound, or trace of his presence. He approached the creature, as though it were rigged to explode at any moment.

Instinct was to probe into the creatures mind, establish contact that way, but he shook his head, Chaos would not approve of such a method. Instead, he pushed his own discomfort aside, and cleared his throat when he was close to the other creature, but not too close. His almost ethereal and dark voice came out crackly, he hardly ever used it. "h-hello...." he ventured, trying his hardest not to startle her, or himself in the process.

She wanted to convince herself this was some sort of bizarre dream, really. But dreams didn't hurt this much. Dreams didn't leave her entire body with that strange and tingly "new" sensation she always felt in her wings whenever she first had to bring them out for something. Dreams didn't have all this detail of every tiny sound, texture, and smell... not this thoroughly. But what was happening didn't make any sense.

And then a creature that appeared to literally be made from shadows and light stepped out of a dark patch... seemed to actually step out of the dark like it had been part of it, not just hiding in it. A moment ago Vic hadn't thought this could get any more surreal. She'd been proven very wrong, hadn't she?

The caution taken and distance kept were probably a very good thing. Vic was injured and entirely out of her depth, which made her about as volatile as a wild animal cornered in a cage. Not appearing overly confident or aggressive kept her from feeling like she needed to punch things. ...She still wanted to punch something out of sheer desire to put something back under control, but she didn't feel like she needed to.

It... he? Sounded male, anyway... He seemed to be a creature like what she was now. Sort of like she was. The body structure seemed the same from what she could feel, and the bit she could see without excruciating amounts of pain. She had a hard time believing he was any sort of normal, even given the situation. Some sort of demon, or something? ...Hah. No more than she was, she had a feeling...

"...Hi." What else could she do? Say? This was so far outside the realm of anything that made any sense that there didn't seem to be much point in doing anything besides going along with it. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" It was phrased as a question but it sounded more like a statement. She tried to shift to a more comfortable position, but wound up accomplishing little more than making herself clamp her jaw shut to keep from crying out. "Please tell me you have doctors or something here..."

Kaale'Indons ears twitched, he shifted nervously, and looked like at any moment he might bolt. He took a deep breath, steadied his nerves, and forgot about his own discomfort. Where had she come from? Did she come from the same Before that Crow had come from? Was it a different Before? Was there a way to return to ones Before? He closed his golden orbs, and shook his head, his curiosity distracting him.

Had she said something? He backpedaled and realized she had. No wonder he didn't socialize, he was horrid at it and - he was doing it again.

"n-not...a dream.." he rasped. Flinching at the excuse he had for a voice. It made him uncomfortable, his white noise. Once again, he steeled himself, and vowed no more inner distractions.

He approached cautiously, only taking a few closer, tentative steps, to take stock of her injuries without invading her personal space. At her question of a doctor, he crunched his nose, but then remembered something Chaos had told him, long ago ~"Doctors, healers, shaman, witch doctors, priests,  they all hold the same position and - Kaale, are you listening? This may be important some day..."~ Kaale'Indon smiled briefly at the memory, his adoptive father had been right.

"we....have...h-healers...I know o-one if...you would...like" he finally replied, realizing he'd been daydreaming again. This interaction thing, it was harder than the others made it look.

"are...you b-badly injured?" he tilted his head to the side, he wasn't able to see her injuries, because of the..stuff she was covered in. He wrinkled his nose, as he tried to figure out what it was. He'd seen others covered in it, but not this close. It was..strange.

Akward, hesitant. He reminded her of skittish stray dog that used to hang around the old apartment complex... she'd been rather fond of him, even if they'd never really done more than make an uneasy truce. But that's what he was, wasn't he? A skittish dog thing? Probably not used to people out here in the middle of the woods. Maybe when her head stopped throbbing she'd actually be able to formulate some questions about where and what she was now, and stop freaking him out so much, or something...

His voice stumbled out of his throat again, the sound a bit harsh because of lack of use but not precisely unpleasant. It wasn't high-pitched, she was grateful for that. That would not have helped her headache at all...

"...Pretty bad. Nothing life threatening, though." She managed to lift her head up a bit, hissing at the pain. Her hair had flopped back across the scarred side of her face, but after lifting the other side from the earth the gash on her forehead and all the dried blood on her face became apparent. "Cut on my head... probably a concussion. Broken collarbone... laying on it, unfortunately. I might be able to walk, but I'd... need help... standing." The last bit came out reluctantly. She hated asking for help. She hated owing people. She didn't like the sort of favors she usually got asked in return. But would that even matter here? She didn't even know where she was or what it was like.

Her head flopped back to the ground, eyes closed, and she snarled in frustration. She brooded like that for a moment, just long enough to make it apparent that he had nothing to do with her displeasure. Suddenly Vic's eyes blinked open and she looked at him as though she'd just startled herself in remembering he was there. "...Sorry. This is just... I don't know where I am, or how I got here, and my day was already ******** up before this happened. So... healer, you said? If they can help... yeah, I'd appreciate it."

She appeared so fragile. Luckily he was smart enough to not judge someone by how they may first appear, she had to gain her injuries somehow, and despite Amadeos claims he didn't think cooking was dangerous enough to fracture bones. He respected her space, and sat down facing her, his shadow parts, seemed to blend in together, feet and tails becoming an indistinguishable black mass. Quite a contrast to his prism body.

He'd never really been injured, or in pain even, but he could tell the injuries she listed off were substantial. Kaale'Indon calmed, feeling less nervous, his instinct to run was not as strong as it was moments ago, but he was still cautious and hesitant. He shifted uncomfortably. "I...I c-can help you...if you..would like...o-or I could summon...the healer...if..if you would rather...n-not walk..I don't mind.." he replied. He was somewhat uncomfortable touching someone he wasn't related to, he would if she required it, but if she would rather have the healer come to her, that would be just fine by him as well. Socializing was one thing, touching was another. And he was a fan of baby steps, this was like three steps already, and he was trying not to hyperventilate.

He appeared more reluctant to actually help her up than she was to have him do it, if it was at all possible. Vic was grateful for that in a way. Whether she really needed to, or should, or whatever... she was simply reluctant to be touched right now. She felt a rather familiar urge to lash out at something rising that wasn't due entirely to the surface appearance of the situation. But no... it would still be safe for a while yet. But perhaps it would be best not to move anyway. Less chance of making her collarbone even worse by accident if she just stayed put until someone more qualified could have a look at it. Sure if she just sat here long enough the injuries would heal themselves for the most part by virtue of her regenerative factor but... bones didn't set themselves and she certainly couldn't do it in this state.

For a moment it seemed as though the throbbing in her head was synced up to the fluctuation of movement in the indistinguishable shadow blob that was the lower parts of his body. It lulled her to stare at it in a slightly groggy stupor for a moment before she realized that the suspected concussion was a truth and starting to effect her mind a bit. She closed her eyes with a noncommittal noise that might have been a grunt. "I... think I'll wait here. Could you, maybe, hurry a little? This is... uncomfortable to say the least."

It occurred to her that alone and injured might not be the best of positions to put herself in while in the middle of the woods in completely unknown territory. But then alone and injured wasn't a good state to find this particular female in if you meant harm... and she didn't have much choice but to wait.

Kaale gave a gentle nod, as she requested he hurry. "I...will be right..b-back" he said as he turned on his heels and disappeared into the shadow of the tree once more, seeming to walk right into it. A few moments passed, as Kaale searched his home area for one of the healers Chaos always talked about. First he sought out Peatree, the motherly angelic who was born to heal, she was away though, with her son, who also had the gift of healing. The potions master was busy trying to turn his accident prone son, back into normal form. Currently he was parading around as a sloth. Kaale couldn't help but pause at the sight, before shaking his head and shadow poofing to the last option available;Raistlin. He found Nenda first, and conveyed the problem to her, she guaranteed Raistlin would be there within moments, she would find him and send him. With his thanks, a very shaken Kaale shadow poofed back out of the tree to Vic. So much communication! Granted with members of his house he could communicate through thought, but still. He was not used to so much socializing. The stress alone had him trembling.

Gathering what little strength he had left, he approached Vic, bowing his head. "the...h-healer will be here shortly...." Kaale replied as he sat back down in front of her. He wasn't sure what else to say, or could say, his mind reeled with everything that happened. This was all so very unlike him, it left him feeling...vulnerable and uncomfortable.

Before he could get too lost within his thoughts, there was a shuffling noise, coming from the way he had arrived. Raistlin slowly made his way forward. He looked displeased, but then again, he always wore that face. Kaale'Indon flushed crimson, embarrassed by something.

Raistlin eyed the two. He hardly had any interaction with Chaos' charge, but he had heard about him, his abilities and his voice. He sympathized with the male, being an outcasted child as well. He bowed to the wounded female "greetings, I believe you are in need of healing?" he asked raising a brow to look over the female from a distance, waiting for her confirmation before approaching any closer. His lungs constricted, and he doubled over in a coughing spasm. His thin frail body wracked by the force of the coughs, he turned from her, until they subsided enough so he could sip his tea, and soothe his throat. It took a few minutes, but soon enough he could breathe normally again. Pain danced in his hourglass eyes briefly, as he turned back to face Vic. "my...appologies"

And then her peculiar companion of the moment really did disappear into the shadow of the tree. Vic was both glad she hadn't been imagining it before... and rather unsettled that such a thing was possible. Of course, she'd been turned into a small furry animal, so impossible seemed to be on vacation already. There wasn't much use in puzzling over it, either, because she could not come up with any sort of logical explanation for anything right now. So she just... waited.

When Kaale returned shaking and obviously unsettled she winced slightly in sympathy. Not that she was anything approaching shy, but people were... awkward for her. She offered a wry and perhaps slightly apologetic smile to him. "Thanks." And what else was there to say? It was all waiting... though things were going much faster than she'd thought they would, given his traveling talents.

Vic's eyebrows rose when Raistlin appeared. He was obviously a creature like they, but he was taller and two-legged... and wearing a robe like a mage in a storybook. Still she couldn't bring herself to be too surprised... not after everything else so far. Next she'd being seeing dragons and space aliens doing ballet or something.

"Just a bit..." she replied before jerking back slightly at the sudden coughing fit. The jerking in turn caused a slightly muffled groan of pain on her part as her shoulder protested the movement. She took the moment to simply rest her throbbing head on the ground and wait for the stabbing sensation in her shoulder to subside. When both of their little episodes were done she sighed. "Didn't sound like the sort of thing you can put off for a few minutes... and it's not like I'm going anywhere for a while." She gritted her teeth and lifted her head again with a grunt, violet eyes regarding him steadily. "So... Broken collarbone. Concussion, too, but it'll probably fix itself in a couple of hours. Rest of it's just cuts and bruises, not worth whining about."

She would appreciate some relief from the headache, but aside from the collarbone she'd probably regenerate from the injuries by the end of the morning... at least... she thought it was morning? Didn't honestly have any idea. As for what came next, she had no idea... though there was one thing she could do that she should perhaps have done sooner. Though she wasn't entirely certain it mattered in the end, either. "Name's Vic, by the way."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 13, 2010 8:35 pm

Raistlin nodded softly as she listed her ailments. "it sounds like you have been through quite an ordeal" he said as he sent Kaale to fetch things he would require to heal Vic. He carefully sat down upon the ground, not too far from her, but not too close either. He gathered some small rocks that were within reach, and constructed a small fire pit, then he proceeded to build a little teepee out of small twigs. The fire only needed to be large enough to heat up a bowl.

He straightened his posture and held out his hands to the fire pit, he rubbed them together "elem shardish, kair tangus moipiar" as soon as the words left his mouth, his slender golden hands sparked to life and started burning. The fire covered his hands, but did not burn him. He played with it for a moment, his hourglass eyes glazing briefly before remembering what he was doing. He reached down and touched the twigs, setting them ablaze as well. When he was sure the fire would hold, he spoke again "dumak" and with that the fire in his hands died instantly.

Silently he gathered the herbs he would need, and set them carefully beside each other in a row. Content he had done all he could for now, he relaxed his posture, and took a sip of his tea. He instinctively wrinkled his nose. He hated this broth. It smelt bitter and tasted just as good. But he needed it.

Remembering he wasn't alone, and that somewhere deep within himself he did have manners, he turned to regard Vic. "I am Raistlin Majere. And the one who came across you, and who we are waiting to return, is Kaale'Indon." he gave a subtle inclination of his head "do you know where you are?" he asked curiously. It was both to test her concussion and to satisfy his own curiosity.

So he was a mage. A real one, not some street show magician. The way he went about it all was far too matter of fact for it to be anything else but real, and apparently rather old hat. "That must be handy..." she muttered. What else was there to do? Her sense of reality had been far too warped already for much more of a response than that.

After the full name introductions she watched the flames dance for a moment before deciding to be a bit more polite about her own. "Victoria Sypher... actually. I just go by Vic..." A single eyebrow was raised at him upon his actual queery and she sighed. "Not a damn clue. I was decidedly less furry and in the middle of a city before I woke up here. Apparently switching bodies didn't get rid of the damage from the fight I was in, though." She was silent for a long moment, the snarling look of displeasure seating itself on her face again. "If I hadn't had enough concussions in the past to know better I'd write this little episode off as having hit my head too hard..."

A mix of emotions flashed over his features. She had a Before. As did he. As does his brother. His brother never made it through however. Sadness. Pain. Frustration. Flickered over his face. Followed by disgust. He despised those emotions. Those feelings. He grunted and poked at the fire with another stick. "you are now in the lands of the Kitsusagi. Which is the current body you occupy; a kitsusagi." he explained, staring into the fire. "you had a Before. A life and body somewhere else. Another reality, even another planet perhaps. Nobody knows for sure how one ends up here, or why even. Appearance, traits, personality, memories and even power, transfers to the kitsusagi body. I myself had a Before..." he paused and fidgeted with the fire. "as of yet, there is no way to get back to the Before. Many of us have tried every possible thing we could think of..." he gave a soft shrug "then again, some don't have anything to go back to.." he muttered to himself. Part of him missed the old life, another part could care less.

So this was apparently not entirely uncommon. That actually kind of pissed her off. Who the hell had the right to just pluck people out of their lives and dump them here like this? And eyes was cracked open to watch his face as he spoke, and recognition of a somewhat kindred sort of feeling caused a bit of a wry smile to settle on her lips. "Nothing to go back to... well... one thing, maybe... Though I wasn't sure about that even before this happened."

She was apparently stuck here, anyway, so it didn't matter... or there wasn't anything she could do about it anymore, at least. That was actually sort of... sad. Vic hadn't wanted to admit it before, after the way she and her former friend had parted ways, but she was... going to miss him...

Abruptly such thoughts were shoved aside. "So... everything about the person transfers?" That was... an unpleasant thought. She didn't have anyone here to supply her medication... might not even be anyone capable of doing so. "Twice cursed, just not hunted now..." she muttered softly to herself, though Raistlin could probably still hear. She wasn't used to or entirely aware of how keen a sense of hearing the Kitsusagi had yet.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:56 am

He gave a curt nod. "best to just...adjust." he said with frustration. A bit of a hypocrite wasn't he? He despised being forced to adjust to situations he couldn't control, and now he was advising her to adjust.

At her question he tilted her head "it..varies by case to case..my power, and illness transferred. You would have to test yourself. If it's something medical, there are those who can conjure or create. There are very powerful and intelligent creatures here, other than myself" he said with a sly grin.

Another cough racked his frame, not as intense as the first spell, but just as irritating to the Mage. He cursed under his breath, and dabbed the droplets of blood from his lip. "we all have a curse to bear..." he muttered a reply. He sunk within his own thoughts, wondering what became of his brother, when Kaale'Indon returned with the ingredients that Raistlin was missing. He thanked the shy male, who sat close by.

Raistlin hummed to himself as he went about the herbal mixture. He ground various herbs, and pinched various flowers from the plants Kaale had brought. Bringing the ground up mixture to his nose, he gave it a sniff, and nodded in satisfaction. Setting the bowl aside, he created two more variations with the herbs. He was quite content in his herbal world, he felt truly at home when dealing with herbs, or magick. After a few moments he had finished up three different concoctions. One he used as a tea, one as a salve paste, and another a concentrated dose. He handed her the bowl with the tea in it. "This will numb your pains, in your bones and muscles, dull your concussion. It should only take a few minutes to take effect, let me know when it does, and I will set your broken collar bone." he said with a nod.

Her wry grin was accompanied by a snort this time. "Easier said than done, I'm sure. ...At least you still have hands." Vic sighed. "Small consolation that probably is." And the pangs at the thought of not even seeing Gambol again were not easily shunted aside. They'd all lost something, being dragged here, though... she was sure. At least she apparently had someone to share a bitter smile with on occasion, perhaps.

"Test it... hm." She pondered that for a moment as she idly watched him mixing herbs. Perhaps she wouldn't need the meds? She doubted she was that lucky, considering. Perhaps Raistlin would be able to mix some sort of concoction to help her if she couldn't find any way to actually replace ******** yay." Not the best method of saying thank you, but she gulped the tea down gratefully none the less. After a minute the throbbing in her head began to lessen and she carefully shoved herself upright with her good arm and back legs. She still had to grit her teeth until the herbal took full effect, but at least she was up far enough the mage could reach the injury now. Finally the pain seemed to fade into just a dull ache. "I think... it's done now." She would offer them both a proper thank you once this was done... now that her head didn't feel like someone was using a jackhammer on it.
