Lorcan was unhappy, to say the least he had finally found his father, his father who was not the man he had thought he would be at all. The male didn't even know that Lorcan or his siblings existed, but the male had so many other cubs. Lorcan realized he was silly for him to even have gone looking for his father he had a perfect family back home his mother and adoptive father had never done anything wrong.... so now the wild dog was heading home, dragging his heels some what due to the fact that he was embaressed that he left in the first place.

The white male stopped at the waters edge to take a drink. He knew he had to be getting close to home soon, probably within the day. He would owe his mother a long appology for leaving at all.

Saraiyu was glad that her mother and father let her leave home to continue her learning out in the rouge lands. She was learning quite a bit about how to 'read' others. At home she really only had other wild dogs to study and try to understand but out here in the rouge lands she got to study lions, cheetahs, leopards, and everything else. The rouge lands were so wide though and Sara felt so alone and lost. She knew that remaining near the pride would hinder her learning but she didn't really care so for her family and herself she stayed with in three days traveling of home.

Sara was heading home just to say 'Hi' and to check in when she decided that she could use a break. There was a stream nearby less then a day's travel from pack lands, really around eight hours at a leisurely pace, Sara had it down to a science. She almost ran into the white male she was so distracted. "Oh, Sorry." Sara backed up a bit to give the male his space. Sadness, a bit of shame, possible inadequacy. Sara mentally listed the feelings she thought she picked up from the male, she was more often wrong then right so she didn't say anything just yet.

Lorcan looked up and saw the other wild dog standing next to him. He was a little bit shocked to see her standing there, he hadn't heard her come up. But that didn't matter, as he eyed the female standing there he begin to wonder if he was closer to home then he had thought, this female she looked as if she from home. He looked her up and down and then it clicked, she was a dog from home, not only was she from home but she was one of his cousins. He hadn't seen her since before he had left home, when she was still some what younger. It was nice to see someone from home. His tail began to wag excitedly.

"Hello and don't appologize I am so happy to see someone from home, I have been away far too long." Lorcan wasn't sure that the female would know who he was, he wasn't even sure of her name, but the he was sure he was his cousin.

Sara was picking up touch of surprise and realization from the male now. Both responses was pretty typical so she figured she was right. The surprise because she came up on him suddenly, even she was surprised by him. She didn't quite get the realization but that was what she picked up. "Home? Oh your from Amani'kikundi too?"

She wasn't sure who this male was but something about him was tugging at her memories. Since he was from the same pack she now knew why she read realization from him and she also understood why she recognized him even if she couldn't place his name. Curiosity led her to ask, "If you dont mind me asking but why were you gone for so long?" Sara knew it wasn't polite to ask but part of her learning was to ask questions and she hoped he didn't take offense.

Lorcan bowed his head a little, his younger cousin didn't know what he was. He had lefted when she was very young, and had been gone for so long. He didn't blame her at all, it was his fault really. "Yes I am from Amani'kikundi as well. Born and raised. Our mothers are sisters." he told her a smile on his face. He felt bad that his family didn't know who he was. The pride was all about family and he barely knew his.

"I left to find my father, my biological father." Lorcan scuffed his feet on the ground. He was somewhat embrassed about all of this. He had found nothing that he wanted. "It was a mistake really and now I must go home and beg my mother forgiveness."

Sara was shocked to find out that this male was her cousin. She thought she knew all her family but apparently not. Wait a moment, she thought to herself as her mind dug through her memories and arrived at a name. "Lorcan? Cousin Lorcan? Oh Gods its been a while. Sorry about that." Sara's smile was shy and slightly embarrassed, I cant believe it took me so long to remember him she silently berated herself.

When he told her of his search for his father Sara knew that it was those feelings she had read earlier. "Everyone makes mistakes but only those who are wise enough learn from their mistakes. It was something you needed to do and I'm sure there is nothing for your mother to forgive you about."

Lorcan couldn't help but smile when his cousin came around to the knowledge that they were family. He really didn't blame her, he had never spent much time aroudn her and her litter mates when then were young and when they had gotten older he had left. He was just happy that they were able to spend some time together now.

"I am sure you were right, my mother really isn't the type to hold a grudge, I am more just ashamed of myself then anything else." he smiled tryig to calm his nerves. "So tell me how long have you been gone from home?" he asked her. He realized he wanted to know more about his cousin now, he needed to make up for the time he had missed earlier in her life.

Sara smiled at Lorcan. It seemed that running into her really made her older cousin happy. "I haven't really been gone long, just a few months. I just wanted to broaden my learning so I came out here." She smiled broadly and glanced at the tall grasses around them. "But sometimes it doesn't feel like I've left at all since I go back for a few hours every month or so. This way I learn a lot more but I also stay in touch with the family." She watched her cousin as she asked her question, "Other then your biological dad, did you learn anything during your time in the rouge lands?"

Lorcan tried to force a smile. "I can't say that I really learned much else. I think I learned to respect my mother more, I never gave her the love that she deserved." Lorcan felt guilty and he hoped that his mother could forgive him for what he had done, he was sure that he wasn't what she had wanted when she gave birth to him and his two sibling but he was sure this wasn't it.

"I am glad that you have been able to learn out in the rouge lands. I am sure if you were out here for the right reasons that you might be able to learn a lot." he grinned, his cousin seemed to be very keen and and an honest girl.

"Do you know how far we are from home now?" he asked lookig around rouge lands trying to remember the land markers he had worked to recall as he had left the pride.

Sara watched as Lorcan forced his smile. She felt sad that he had such a hard time and wished there was something she could do to make life easier for him. "I think you gave your mom all the love you had to give and even if you felt that fell short I am sure she felt that it was more then enough." She glanced at the clouds breaking apart in the sky as the wind tore them to fluffy strands. "It sounds to me like you needed to see what you saw so you could return home and see how much your true family loves you. It doesn't mater if you care that males blood, he is no more your father then a random lion would be. We are your family, that is all that matters."

Sara just smiled at Lorcan and decided to answer his question rather then his statement. "About eight hours at a leisurely pace that way." She motioned to the direction that home was. "Are you ready to go back or would you rather just wait here a little bit longer?" She would not push him to return home, even though it was the normal day she stopped in and her parents might worry about her being late.

Lorcan turned his head up towards the sky he was sure his mother knew that he loved her he just wished he had been a better pup. "I am sure that it is time to get home I have been away for far to long." he turned his head back to look at his cousin "I am glad that I ran into you. It has been far too long since I have been with my family."

Lorcan turned his body so that he was facing towards the direction he would need to walk in the rest of the way home. It was still fairly early in the day and they would be able to make it home easily before dark, he was sure his mother would be excited to see him, and it would nice to see his best friend Kya again. "Shall we?" he asked. He didn't even wait for an answer he just began to pad in the direction that Sara had indicated.
