'Steve' wasn't really quite sure what was so unspeakable about this hat. Sure, the colors contrasted enough to give him a migraine, but all in all it appeared to be a pretty decent hat. Nice fabric, too. With a sigh he sat it on his head and inspected himself in the mirror.
"All in the name of love."
Honestly, 'Steve' thought he looked ridiculous. Then again, Envy's wardrobe was so over-the-top that he wasn't sure what qualified as ridiculous anymore. (Since when were moccasins fashionable, anyway? He hated moccasins, and yet that was all this shop seemed to carry! No boots, nothing, just... moccasins.)
The stout lady sitting outside the dressing room gawked at the boy's appearance when he finally stepped out. She clasped her four sets of hands together and scuttled about, adjusting Steve's charm and shield (wait, when had he picked up a shield?)
"Oh. Mah. GAWD! You look like a whole new specter! Those greaves make your fingers look like little weapons of mass destruction. You wouldn't look any better even if you wore black-widow-drop earrings!"
The shop keeper walked (on a set of hands? Steve couldn't tell anymore) over to the jewelry case next to the cash register and tapped on the glass with one of her long, jewel-encrusted fingernails.
"Honey, all you need now is a weapon to go along with that shield o' yours. My personal favorite is the Demonic Spined Lyre! It's made out of pure bone with authentic devil sinew for the strings. It'll make you one hell of a badass bard, if you don't mind me saying so!"
'Steve' had no idea how to play the lyre. 'Steve' never had any interest in playing the lyre. 'Steve' wasn't even sure he knew what a lyre was before this salesclerk pointed it out to him. However, he saw himself in the reflection of the glass. His ensemble, as ridiculous as he thought it was, needed something. Perhaps a Demonic Doo-Hickey Lyre would spice it up.
So, he had her take it out of the case. Just as long as he didn't have to touch the strings, Steve figured he'd be all right.
Feeling confident, Steve struck a pose that was meant for the catwalk and practically glided out the door to meet his rival.
"Sir, you forgot the check~!!"
A pair of hands waved a distressingly-long receipt in his face. With a gulp, Steve glanced down at the amount of pumpkin seeds next to the bolded "TOTAL", and almost retched.
How many exes were there, again?

Steve was not pleased. He had never put much thought into his clothes before and he didn't mind if this jerk approved or disapproved of it but he suddenly wondered what Lilith would think. He would need to accessorize and dress with some sort of style. Of course, he'd probably end up looking even more foolish. Weren't girls supposed to be into this s**t?

Steve felt like he was watching some sort of awesome advertisement and then suddenly he was picking out things to wear. Not just things to wear, but things that looked like the things he could be wearing. Someday he'd be on that boat, he just needed water proof clothing that would make everyone would wish they were as awesome as him... even if someone decided the boat would be a great time to attack him and he fell off the boat and into the water. He'd look so awesome he'd be dry.

Jewelry Item: "Excuse me miss, Yes you." Giving her my quick smile, meant for love at first sight, I tap the glass and point at the Splendid Purple Pendant of Kill Rulers, "I'd like that wrapped up and boxed thanks." That'd show Envy just who was the prettier one of us two....
Clothing Item #1: The joys of this day had no bounds. Walking through the store I spotted even something greater and could only melt in my brain at the lusciousness of the Sinner's Coat of Snakes . What the hell, was Envy effecting my brain? Well since its already on...I suppose its not too bad...maybe even a little comfy. HMMM
Clothing Item #2: Why was it required to get stupid items such as the Blessed Sea Serpents' Moccasins, Did I really think it would change anything with Envy. Actually...These are pretty cool too. /struts around/

"What?" Steve stared blankly at the demon in front of him. Was he speaking a different language? The gaze of confusion on young Steve's face was rather troubling and one wanted to remind him what everyones mothers had warned them about when they were younger, 'If you make that face too long it'll freeze like that'.
"Whaaat?" He whined shoulders sagging as racks upon racks of clothing popped up around him, "But...but, this isn't a battle! At least the last one like tried to chuck things at me. That was like, easy or whatever." Suddenly a caption and narration appears over him 'STEVE USES WHINE, IT IS NOT VERY EFFECTIVE' He makes one last desperate sound of discontent before accepting the inevitable.
Steve glanced around the the flashy, colorful...bulky, apparel that were set out before him. "Okay fine," Steve said quickly grabbing the garments closest to him. He waited a few moments. A few more. Finally realization hit, "But...ehhhhhh..." He whined again as a dressing room door opened up in front of him. Head hung low from boredom he walked in and got changed quickly as possible.
"Kay done. Can we fight now? Or whatever?" He asked stepping out. To his dismay the racks of clothes had switched out and now he had to choose 'accessories'. Almost stomping his feet Steve turned to face them, but his discontent assuaged as soon as he spotted weapons, "Awesome!" He exclaimed suddenly becoming interested. Re-buttoning his coat with gusto Steve took on a new interest on this battle. Cool weapons duh it was gonna rock now! Steve peered over his options intensely before making a selection. With his Glaive and Lyre in hand he turned back to face Envy, power, confidence, he just exuded cool. Well dressed, Steve stood at the ready.
