Alright Fae Guild Members! This is a really easy and fun forum to contribute to. All you have to do is list your favorite holiday traditions you either do with your friends or family. I know this is early since it's still November, but I think we can find out alot about our traditions.

The Christian's stole many of the traditions used in Christmas today from Pagan rituals. The Christmas tree is one of these traditions. Also the belief and legend of Santa Claus is actually a really old fairy tale...and it is said that Santa Claus is actually a fairy, and was never a mortal man. This;however,is just one of the legends of Santa Claus. Also some say he was actually a woman, but who really knows.

Anyways just let me know of what traditions you do to keep the spirit alive during the yule season!

Well, our tradition is just to have a quiet little holiday with a small feast. We bless the food. Pretty simple. Then we eat of course. All the while Christmas songs are playing. We decorate the inside, with a very vintage Christmas feel. Put up a tree. Open gifts. Then sleep.

Wooo.

EDIT: Guess Christmas shouldn't be called a "Christian" holiday if its not even our own..

*Starts singing Deck the Halls
and then plays Sleigh Ride of her flute*
Mostly I am still working on establishing my own Yuletide traditions since I just recently (about two years ago) transitioned over to pagan beliefs

heart Well my holiday tradition is a mixture of both, although I am the only one in my family who actually celebrates Yule. Anyways mostly my family tradition is that every Christmas Eve we all get a new pair of pajamas to wear to bed. Then on Christmas day we open gifts and have a feast. We decorate our house as well. Last year, I started lighting candles from December 1-25. I recite "A Night Before Christmas aswell. Another one of my traditions is to watch holiday classics.
It's nice to hear everyones traditions so please keep contributing.

Well this is the first year I'm going to probably celebrate yule with a yule log. Normally my family just decorates our houses and hangs out stockings and decorates a tree. We used to open one present before bed but we changed it when I started only getting 1 really cool present instead of a few small ones. Then we open presents in the morning and have christmas dinner either on the eve or the day and then again on boxing day with cousins and stuff.

My family tradition is to sit around, eat finger food, play Monopoly, and then leave out cookies for my dad to eat.then it's off to bed.

^-^ I was supposed to be born on Yule (my mom... er, decided differently for me, however...) and the closest it gets to Yule the more cheerful I get. ^0^ I start singing cheerful songs, I start decorating... Buying presents for my friends, baking cookies... I love decorating the tree, even if it's not a real tree, with all sorts of shiny colorful doodads! And this year I'm making a yule log cake!

I'd love to be with you for Yule! You sound like you'd be much more fun than my family. Of course, the moment snow starts to fall, my eyes get all misty and I stare out the window with the exprssion of an amazed 6 year old. My family thinks it's weird how joyful I get this time of year. I'd love to be with someone who shares my love of the holidays.

I do the basic decorating, with a tree and wreath and a plastic menora in the window(okay, that's my parents, I don't quite get). I buy or make presents for my friends and family, watch Terry Pratchet's The Hogfather and go to as many light parades and displays that I can.^^; This year I'm attending my new alma mater's holiday choir concert so I can sing with, and I've been invited to a masquarade yule party. I'm already impatient for it to snow.>w<

It started snowing here last week but it has been raining the last couple of days washing a good chunk of it away.

Usually it snows before halloween here, but as of yet we haven't had much more than a slush or two. It's kinda depressing me.=w=;
