Valeri had taken his daughter to yet another one of those creative little children's workshops where the child was encouraged to do artsy things. This particular one was not only just sculpting clay that came in all sorts of colors but also painting the clay after it was sufficiently worked with to the child's standards and they were ready to do so. For the most part the ginger haired man sat off to the side with the other parents while Miranda sat at her table all by herself for the moment though she certainly wouldn't argue if someone wanted to sit with her. Right now she was content just molding and shaping the clay trying to decide what she wanted to do with it.
Miranda hummed a small song to herself as she flattened the clay rolled it back up into a ball and then flattened it again as her ears twitched one way and then the other. What did she want to make? She was no stranger to clay but it was always hard for her to decide what she wanted to do.
Maybe if she tried to make it into a little person? Yes, that seemed like fun! She started taking her clay apart to make the appropriate parts of her little clay-based person. Every now and again her reddish colored eyes would gaze around to see if anyone was coming to sit with her or not.

The "workshop" room seemed to be bustling quite a bit. It wasn't by any means jam packed, but the small row of chairs for parents to sit in while their children played was fairly full, and there were enough children creating and playing with art supplies, running around and asking for new things that it seemed more occupied then it was.
It was the first time Rysha had taken Tryst to such a thing; she hadn't known little shops like this were as close to her and Riley's house, but a friend had mentioned it to her. It'd be good to get out of the house and take Tryst to something fun, so up and out they went.
It didn't take long for Tryst to be guided to a small mound of clay to call her own, with Rysha seating herself with some of the parents. The small snake girl stood there awkwardly for a moment, glancing at her mother before looking around. She didn't know any of the kids there. But there was one girl at a table by herself with funny ears on the top of her head...
She was by herself, so Tryst slithered over to her table, weaving around skewed chairs and idle little legs.
"Can I sssit with you?" She asked politely, her arms wrapped around her lump of clay. Maybe the girl wanted to be by herself. It was always good to check first...

Miranda had begun rolling the clay between her hands so that she could start to piece together her masterpiece though she had broken off one too many pieces but that was quite alright, she'd figure out something to do with them. The presence of a girl slithering nearby caught her attention and she looked up with a smile. She was no stranger to this new girl's body-type! Miranda had a couple already and as far as she knew they were very, very nice and she enjoyed spending time with them so she saw no need to deny the girl a seat. Not only did the rat-girl nod but she also stopped what she was doing and pulled out a seat for the rather pale girl to sit at with her.
She was being a good girl!
"Ye'th! You can th'it with me!" Miranda said vocally with a large smile. "I'm Miranda~," she introduced herself happily as she then moved to sit back down in her own seat. She noted that the girl also had some clay to work with and she beamed, "You know what you're going to make yet?"

A smile broke onto Tryst's face as the girl, Miranda, invited her to join her at the table, even going so far as to pull out a chair for her. Sliding onto the chair, she carefully coiled her tail around one of the legs and out of the walking path between tables. She'd learned already, it hurt to get stepped on.
"Thankss! I'm Tryssst." The reptile said with a smile, letting her clay fall on the table as she started poking it with a finger. "Iunno what to make. Sssomething for my mama, maybe?" She tilted her head to get a look at what Miranda was working on.
"What're you making?"

Miranda took one of the bits of her own clay in hand and began shaping it again as she looked over at her new friend with a curious gaze. She wiggled her nose a bit and then nodded, "That'd be ni'th'e," she said encouragingly. The rat-girl was fairly certain Tryst's mommy would love anything that was made for her. After all Other loved it whenever Miranda made something for her! It was universal as far as she was concerned.
She paused and stared down at the 'torso' and bits of limbs she formed thus far and then looked up at Tryst and suddenly giggled, "I forgot~," Miranda admitted and shrugged. The girl had gotten so excited over the company she had gained that the idea she had formed had gone right out of her mind. Oh well.
The rat-girl continued to roll the bits around a bit before she announced, "I am making a mutant alien!"

Tryst started mushing her fingers into her clay ball and kneading it around, thinking of something in her head that Rysha might like. Oooh, a cat maybe, Rysha liked cats! With an idea in mind, she started separating the clay into lumpy pieces.
She couldn't help but grin as Miranda answered. She seemed like a cool girl, and she had a tail too! Always a bonus, in Tryst's eyes at least. "Oooh, will it be a ssscary mutant alien??" The python asked, her pale blue eyes glancing back at Miranda.
Tryst started working on the cat's head and body, pretty much the larger lump of clay with a ball on top. Two little scraps of the clay went on the ball to be ears, though how similar it looked to an actual cat was debatable.

Miranda pushed and prodded her bits of clay together here and there with a small grin present upon her lips. She looked up at Tryst when she asked her question and seemed thoughtful. She made one of the 'tenta-arms' a bit wavy as she worked, "Hmmm, I 'unno. I think Hubert like'th tea and cookie'th. I don' think he'th that th'cary..."
She started to carve a bit of a smiley face upon the 'head' of the figure with a thoughtful look. She'd named it and apparently it was a male. Miranda peeked over at what Tryst was doing and beamed, "Look'th awe'th'ome~," she complimented readily.
"Huuuuuubert come'th from a planet far, far away," she informed Tryst as she started thinking up new details.

"Hubert looksss cool." Tryst said, grinning in answer to Miranda's. "And he likesss cookiess. I like cookiess too." She beamed as if she had just announced the greatest news was to have something in common with her. "An' he doessn't look sscary. He lookss nice. And sssmiley!"
She carved a similar smiley face onto her cat, a big crooked grin going from ear to ear. "Hiss name will be... Chesster!" Tryst said, proudly patting the back of the vaguely feline shape. He needed a tail, which she commenced working on.
"What'ss the name of Hubert'ss planet, Mir'?" Tryst asked. She wasn't sure if Miranda had a nickname, or even the shortened name. But it was nifty, and it was quicker and easier to say for the snake child.

Miranda beamed back over at Tryst, "Hubert th'ay'th thank'th," she informed as she continued molding some of the finer points of the alien-mutant being that she was working on. She giggled at Tryst's words, "I like cookie'th too! My Mami make'th awe'th'ome cookie'th," she informed cheerfully. Maybe one day she could see Tryst again and give her some cookies! That would be wonderful.
She looked over at the feline-shape that Tryst was working on and giggled happily, "That i'th a won'erful name. I like'th it. Look'th like th'uch a ni'th'e kitty~," Miranda said happily.
A name ... Hubert's planet needed a name. She wiggled a bit in her seat as she stuck random limbs onto the clay figure before she said, "He come'th from planet Eerkbork," she said happily.

"Cookiess, cookiess! Cookiess are good. Esspeccially chocolate chip onesss. What kind do you like? We sshould make cookiess together sssoon!" A big smile came onto her face as the idea bloomed in her head. Assuming of course Miranda wanted to. Tryst liked the rodent girl so far.
"Thankss. Chesster iss a nifty cat. He can fly!" Tryst said proudly, rolling a little nub of a tail for him out of her clay. "And he danccess, too, cuss mama danccess." Rysha taught dance classes in Barton, and she took Tryst sometimes. She really wanted to learn, and would imitate them sometimes. Maybe she could bring Miranda to one of Rysha's lessons?
"Oooh, planet Erk, uh, bok?" She liked the name, but it was odd to try and form around her tongue. "What'ss it like there? Isss it pretty and colorful? Are there ssnakes? Doess Hubert like ssnakes?" Tryst asked, her face taking on a sudden tinge of concern, leaning over her cat to peer at the alien at eye level, her chin resting on the table.
