--------------------------------- Styx had been spending far too much time on the surface lately, it was the main reason for his need to escape... and what better place than deep under the seas crashing waves where few could follow. He had found a spot, coral of different colours and fish swimming around him but not too close. In many ways Styx predicted they could feel his instability, knowing instinctively that getting too close to the him and the darkness that was lurking all to close for comfort within him. He snapped his teeth at one fish that dared to swim a little closer than the others, turned his head and blew bubbles out of his nose at another hissing silently under the water. Out of the creatures of the sea he was one of the biggest and baddest in this area, even if he wasn't in Styx's mind he was. He had the sudden urge to roll over but resisted by instead blowing more bubbles out of his nose, his tail swishing and swaying on the ground behind him. He ignored his tail far too much, unlike most of the ground soquili his tail was useful and not just a giant pile of hair and ornaments. Styx was tired. Tired of his duties as the sherpard of damn souls. Tired of trying to play nice only to be rejected. And most of all tired of watching himself suffer, of feeling the darkness grow day after day after day. One day he feared he would no longer have any light left within him... that would be a very sad day indeed. Styx prayed it never came.

Coral flitted around the brightly colored reef most enjoyably. She squealed at colorful unsuspecting fish and nipped playfully at their retreating tails. Bubbles trailed out behind the speedy little seathi as she raced off to find more things to entertain herself. She suddenly came upon a reef that looked quite deserted and how boring was that?! Coral made a pout face and slowly looked around, her crimson eyes scanning the reef for anything fun. Just when she was about to give up she saw a brown, mud colored fish. Well, that was out of the norm, but still something to scare. Slowly she swam up to it and sucked in a huge breath, then let out a very loud shrill whinny and giggled gleefully to her self, waiting for it to flee in terror.

Styx heard a noise. A noise that broke his concentration and thoughts and had him slapping his tail to the ground in agitation that something had dared to disturb him. He debated turning around to see what it was, but he was sure the creature was so beniethe him that it was not worth the energy needed for such an action, instead Styx continued to look at the reef and its many colours. Colours where always helpful to remain in the light as they where so far from the colours of the night.
Sighing he breathed out several bubbles and made to move. His mind already forgetting that a creature had been here moments before. He turned, and as he turned he swore that he could see a blur of red. Red meant blood. Blood meant death. Death was his business.
Baring his teeth he hissed, spraying bubbles from his mouth into the Ocean. "Blood....." he called, the word all but a whisper, his mind began to race, and as was often the habit of his he began to speak his thoughts aloud with no understanding that he had actually spoken at all. "...evil, darkness terrible thing... won't get my blood, no, no, no, not me."
The haze of darkness was once again threatening to consume him.

Coral was frustrated to see that all this fish did was flop around! What kind of fish didn't flee from her shrill whinny? Coral looked around for something else to do and before she darted away she saw the floppy fish move away and suddenly Coral was face to knee with an underwater Soquili, a Kelpie. So this just might be the reason the floppy fish didn't swim away in terror, she could see now that it was attached to this Kelpie's tail. Coral looked up when he spoke in an off hand voice, seemingly to himself. He was looking at her though so she smiled and swam up toward his face to see him better. "Hello there!"

"Blood blood go away, run my way another day..." he mumbled, still staring at the blood. He had no time for it today, death lingers and clung to his every limb and he was already aware of the fact that he would kill something today. The blood before him was just a reminded.
Angered at the illusion he hissed, a bubbling turrent being expelled from his mouth towards the blood. And then it spoke. Styx knew now he was being trapped within his darkness again.... the colours hadn't helped to sooth the beast inside him today. Eyes narrowing he watched the blood for many moments. "Have you come for my blood?" He asked at last, wondering for the briefest of moments if the Gods had finally taken pity on him and sent someone to deliver him from his eternal torment?
Though as quickly as his actions had calmed the bubbled and twisted again, he hissed and thrashed in the water, "No," he would not die here, he would not take the final "death" this way, he would do it when he was ready.... damn the bloody Gods!!!!!
"What do you want!?" He snapped out, another bubbling hiss escaping his bared lips. He would fight if needed, his tail was pacing behind him. Moving back and forth in anger and hatred... he would find a way to kill even blood if he needed to. "You... are dead!" He thought, not realising he had spoke aloud. In many ways it was threatening thought and a warning to himself... after all, how can you kill something that has no lifeforce of its own? Its already dead... he could not do more than that.

Coral looked at the mumbling Kelpie with an odd expression on her face. "I'm not blood!" She balked at the idea of her being blood. Could he not see that she was a Seathi? Maybe he just couldn't see properly! She giggled, about to calmly explain that she was not blood but a Seathi when he exclaimed that she was dead. Her crimson eyes widened, the smile disappeared off of her face quite quickly. Was he going to kill her? And for the first time she felt scared like the little fish she would chase...this time though, she was the little fish. "I-I'm sure you have me m-mistaken for-for someone else you must kn-know." She fidgeted slightly and laughed nervously.

He growled and grunted as distorted words came to him. The voices? Again? They would not leave him alone, never alone, always in the company of bad memories, terror and pain. Eternally doomed.
Blood was before him and death behind.
Yet he heard the plea, the words that had left his victums one by one.... tortured out of even the strongest. "You are already death Blood." It was to himself rather than the spot before him, he could not harm blood since it was already dead -right? Surely the words that resonated around him where just that, words.... taunting him, trying to get a reaction.
But blood was dead. He could do not harm to blood!? Right?
He thrashed around, his mouth letting a torrent of bubbles escape his lips as he tried to fight the darkness.
"I AM NOT A MONSTER!" He roared between his thrashing, he was not... he would not allow himself to be. He just had to.... find the light.

Coral stayed as still as possible in the water, looking at this kelpie with a mixture of fear and slight fascination. She watched as he seemed to not really take in what she was. She didn't quite understand this kelpie and she wondered if he even understood himself. Frightened now though of this kelpie she was unsure if it would be wise to stick around, see if he was more of a danger to himself or to society. Fear jolted through her once more as he thrashed where he was. Letting out a shrill whinny she darted from the kelpie amongst the bubbles that had escaped his mouth. She turned around briefly to face the Kelpie. "It was very interesting meeting you Mister Kelpie but I do beleive I should go now!" Coral waved with a hoof and darted for safety in the crevices in the rocks close to the bottom.

Styx watched the creature leave. The dust that was unsettled in blood wake snapped him from his crazed state. He had faced blood and death and survived. He checked his body. No blood or new wounds where present... did that mean he had not killed? Not taken blood or life? He smiled. It was the first smile Styx had felt to the depths of his heart as he made his way back up to the surface... he needed air. -------------------
