The Motoujamii Lands
There are very few landmarks in the lands; the creatures that call this land their home, however, seem to be able to find their way around instinctively. To the wandering traveler, though, one dune looks very much like another. Sand stretches in all directions, seemingly. At the southern and northern edges of the lands, sand gives way to dry, parched earth. A torrent of thorn bushes borders the southern expanse between the desert and the Pride Lands. Out of it, slightly to the southeast, a small river trickles, narrowly missing the desert, known as the Tunu'dogo'mvo. To the northeast, a vast jungle rises past the desert, a place of taboo for the Motoujamii pride. To the northwest and west, the desert gives way to scrub and short brush. Right before this lies a small oasis, nestled carefully between two short cliffs. The cliffs stretch towards the northern border, getting larger as they go; eventually, they split apart again, forming several natural caverns, where the Firekin pride has their home. There is also a small rock outcropping to the southeast, but beyond that, there is precious little else to note about the lands.
[x] Weather:
As usual, the air over the Motoujamii desert - known as the Ardhi'a'kifo ('land of death') - is arid and dry. There isn't a cloud in the sky; during the day, the sun beats down, unforgiving. The temperature during the day is unbearable in the heat of the day, and most creatures must find shelter, or risk exposure to the sun. At night, however, one can see the moon and stars very clearly, and the temperature drops drastically.
[x] History:
The Motoujamii ('kin of fire,' named for the fiery sands they live in) believe in only one god, Finar-si, who they believe created the world, and was their great ancestor. The pride has been known to be extremely racist, defending their borders fiercely against incoming rogues and bordering pridals. Slave-taking is common practice, although it goes in and out of fashion depending on the current ruler. Much lore, however, has been forgotten in the plague disaster, but this is what is remembered:
Two generations ago, Makadari, King of the Blood, has four children; Kiu and Mwali, the two boys, and Jua and Mwezi, two girls. He was a cruel leader, arrogant and confident in his skills. At the very first immortal whisper of a prophecy that might destroy his pride, he finds and kills his daughter, Jua, and leaves her cubs, the children of an infidel rogue, to die on the sands. His other daughter, Mwezi, disappears...as, soon after, does Mwali, a deserter to the pride, and Kitwana and Dama, two slaves.
Soon after, a newcomer entered the pride: Kinja, supposedly a lost member of the Motoujamii. She captured the attentions of Kiu, and produced Kiu's cubs: six strong children and heirs to the throne. He would never get to see them grow, however. The plague came and took both Kiu, Makadari, and many members of the pride. None of the pride remained except for Kinja and her cubs; the rest were either dead or dispersed.
When the cubs were finally up and walking Hestia appeared and took the eldest son, Kavuasi. Kinja, meanwhile, took the roll as Queen Regent until Kimeti could rule. The pride, scattered, fell into a state of ruin, and nearly all the customs and lore were lost.
[x] Current:
The cubs grew...and grew. Kimeti has taken the throne, but recently, word of his sister gathering alliances to overthrow him reached the King's ears. He confronted the lioness only for their battle for power to be interrupted at the return of Kavuasi and Kafara. Why were the two back and what would happen now?
If that isn't enough, many members with blood-ties to the pride of Makadari's time or before have started showing up: Nuri and Chomo, Teleka and Mpeka, and Karama, who was accepted into the pride as the new priestess. In addition, Kavuasi is back...with no visible sign of Hestia around. New allies and enemies are being forged, and the pride looks as if it will either unite stronger than ever...or be destroyed from within. If that weren't enough, Karama is now pregnant with Kimeti's heirs, as he hopes to solidify his reign in these troubled times.

He had no real duties, and a short fuse - his temper tantrums were very similar to a child's when he or she didn't get their way. However, he left the lands and has now taken up residence in the Pridelands Pride; a traitor to his own kin. Both of Makadari's sons, it seems, are not true Motoujamii.

After her cubs were fully grown and the throne handed over to her son Kinja dissapeared one night without a trace.

In her eyes she should have been queen being the first born and being chosen by Hestia herself. Now the young lioness plots to overthrow the King but her plans were spoiled when the King found out. After a confrontation with Kimeti, Kwana left the pride. What will come of her now?

Description: As a juvenile, Kitwana was found near the borders of the Firekin lands, crying for food. Surprisingly enough, Waka, who found him, did not kill him; instead, she dragged him into the pride. He was never considered an actual 'member' of the pride; he was beaten into slavery. He managed to run away as an adolescent, and by that time, the pride was already in shambles, and none went after to claim him.
