 As Shannah arrived on the border of the packlands, she howled out a greeting, announcing that she was here to visit Peregrine, and would do no hunting on their lands. At her feet were three young pups...his pups. He would be so surprised! Conall, the only male pup in the group, surveyed this new area with a steady interest, his tail high, greeny eyes bright and curious.

 Aislin gave a tremendous yawn, flopping down beside her brother. It had been a rather long walk, she thought -- much longer than she'd been expecting anyway -- and her paws were tired. But not quite as tired as the rest of her.
She yawned again, sprawling over onto her side and stretching languidly. Her eyelids drooped a little. Maybe she'd just take a little nap. Nobody would notice if she dozed off for just a few minutes, would they? She was tired! And especially so because she hadn't visited her dream-friends in a long time now, and was a little afraid they'd forgotten all about her, and that would hardly do.
With a last furtive glance at the others, Aislin closed her eyes and started to doze off.

He paused only to send a reply howl to announce he was on his way before he resumed an easy, loping run. The female could only be Shannah. But why was she here? A visit was a nice surprise, but he had set her up with a pack. Was there trouble? He frowned in concern and increased his speed. If she was coming all this way for help...
He caught sight of her first, and slowed until he was walking towards her. His eyes latched onto the three pups at her feet and he stared openly, although there was no hesitation in his movement. Pups. She had a mate? Was that why she had--
They all had blue. His stomach flopped over at the implications, but he forced his eyes back to Shannah. Without her word, he couldn't be sure. It was possible she had found a male with colors similar to him. He wouldn't jump to conclusions.
"Shannah, welcome to Agua Azul." He smiled at her and then at the pups, who he cast a quick glance over again. His eyes locked with a similar set of green, and he swallowed hard. The boy had stripes. His stripes. Shannah's face, but his color, his eyes. He jerked his gaze back to her, a question there that he didn't dare ask aloud.

Fianna moved under her mother's feet and around her siblings, her eyes scanning the area and her nose constantly twitching as she picked up new scents and sights. Their mother had said they were going on a trip, and since this was her first time outside of their pack, she was going to drink in all that she could in her short time away.
She completely ignored her mother's voice, focused only on the area until she heard paws running towards them. Immediately, she backed up to her mother's front legs until her butt was pressed safely against her.
"Who is it?" She asked Shannah in a whisper just before the tan-and-blue wolf came into sight. The male stopped and greeted them, but barely paid her any attention, which allowed Fianna plenty of time to inspect him and take his measure.

Shannah chuckled as Fianna pressed up against her legs, and looked into Peregrine's asking eyes proudly. "No question," she grinned joyfully, "they're yours. Conall, come here, please," she called, addressing the blue-faced boy who was beginning to wander a little too far away. He responded quickly, which made Shannah even prouder. "Guys, meet your father."
"So you're the one Mama's been talking about." He was still young, but Conall was smart as a whip and talking quite well. He was also rather bold; he was not the least bit shy about meeting other wolves.

If Peregrine's legs hadn't been locked at the knees he probably would have collapsed into a sitting position. He hadn't expected to be a father after one night with a female, but the months between his first meeting with Shannah and now had given him a better perspective on life so at least he didn't have to deal with any childish questions like 'Shouldn't there be some kind of mutual agreement for this?'
Peri looked down at his son, again looking into his own eyes. "Yes, it seems I am." His eyes moved to the pup who had yet to return to her mother's side. Those were his family's colors, definitely. Dove's blue and yellow on her face and body, and his own deep blue, his father's blue, streaked up the center of her face. Couldn't mistake those eye circles either.
He looked back to Shannah, not sure at first how to react. He felt the masculine pride in himself at having sired a healthy litter-- one to exactly echo his own litter, where he was the one boy and his sisters the two girls-- and uncertainty over how to proceed and why Shannah had brought them without warning. He didn't like feeling uncertain.
Any negative feelings he pushed away, offering Shannah a wan smile. "I take it they just got large enough for the trip. Why didn't you send a messenger to warn me you were coming?"
His final pup, the other little girl, distracted him by stepping towards him out of the shadows of Shannah's body, her eyes fixed on him and her head tilted in curiosity. His eyes again, and there really was no question with this one. His fur pattern in reverse with his blue and the silvery shade that touched her mother's fur, yellow stripes, the half-ear marking. She seemed to be studying his face panels, almost a perfect match for her own, and he smiled at her.

Was Aislin excited to be meeting her father?
Well, no, not particularly. In fact, she was only dimly aware of them at all. She lay sprawled out on the ground near to her mother, her yellow-and-blue pelt just catching the sun as she dozed. Her ear flicked, and she caught the sound of conversation nearby, and she struggled between wanting to wake up to see what was going on, and wanting to see how her dream ended.
In her dream, she had chased a butterfly. She had run so long, and her paws were so tired, she wasn't sure she'd ever keep up, but she did, and the butterfly was showing her the most beautiful butterfly city. When the butterfly spoke, it sounded an awful lot like her mother, but the more she listened, the more the butterfly's words didn't make any sense at all.
Confused, caught between half-sleep and waking, Aislin blinked her eyes open and slowly rolled to her belly, peering up at her siblings and parents, complete confusion evident in her expression. "What's going on?" She asked, sleepily, and with a huge yawn. She licked her lips and stretched. "Are we there?"

Shannah chuckled. "Yes, honey, we are. Once you've woken up a little, come meet your father."
She turned to Peri. "Hm. That'd be rather impossible. I'm the one that'd get sent, not the other way around. I'm sorry I surprised you so badly."
Conall sniffed at Peregrine's legs. He didn't smell like Mom, but he did smell a bit like his siblings. that and his mother's word was enough. He grinned at the stranger.

Fianna's tail began waving furiously when her father smiled at her. It was him! She stretched her neck forward and sniffed, much as her brother had done moments earlier, trying to catch and memorize his scent.
"Are we going to be staying here now? Is Father coming back with us?" He was big, like many of the males in their home pack, but somehow she thought he was more impressive. Maybe it was the way he held himself-- kind of like Derecho-- that made it seem that way.
After her father had replied, Fianna watched him walk by her, turning around to keep him in sight. When she pulled her eyes away and saw Conall still grinning, she grinned too.

"You got placed as a messenger?" Peregrine asked. Maybe he should have visited sooner, but the whole coup, the changing of power in Agua, had kept him somewhat occupied, even though his family was on the outskirts of it.
Peregrine caught his son's grin and replied with a broad smile of his own. He hoped his mother would be pleased. He would be the first of his siblings to have pups, and thus give his parents grandchildren. They had to go visit his parents, as soon as he had had time to get to know his children beyond first impressions. His son was clearly fearless, and it looked like one of his daughters was cautious, but eager once she was sure things were safe.
When his daughter asked about their stay, Peregrine met Shannah's eyes, clearly expecting her to give them a reply on that. He didn't know what the female's plans were, beyond showing him his children, but he wouldn't mind a bit of a stay, if Shannah could leave the YMCA for so long.
His second daughter...
He looked her over again, then walked over and nudged her with his nose to elicit some less sleepy reaction, inadvertently inhaling the scent of pup. It made his head buzz with pleasure, but he pushed that aside and looked back to Shannah, back to the matter at hand.
"You're welcome to stay for a few days. I'm sure we can find a suitable den if you weren't intending to head back immediately."

(OOC note: For some reason nobody's responded to my app yet, so this is um....pulled out of nowhere for what I hope will eventually happen XDD)
"Well, no. I just don't have anyone to boss around."
Shannah laughed. She felt content and happy. Even being near the bottom, they had allowed her pups to live safely, for which she was grateful. "Yeah, I can stay a little while, if your friends will allow. Things have been good so they haven't too much need of me at the moment." A sense of pleasure washed over all the other feelings as she watched Perigrine interact with his daughters and son.
Conall hopped over and poked his sister with a paw. "Hey, wake up, sleepyhead," he told her with some excitement. "This is really cool!"

Aislin huffed annoyedly. Giving one last, tremendous yawn, she rose to her paws, stretched luxuriously, curled her tail over her back and popped every joint as she straightened herself out. "Hi," she said, simply, looking up at her father. She seemed a bit bored by the whole thing, but only because he was nowhere near as impressive as anything she was dreaming about.
Still, it was best to be nice in situations like this. And, now that she was waking up a little, she was starting to get a bit excited. They were in a new place, after all, and that was worthy of a little bit of enthusiasm. She wagged her tail and crept forward, craning her neck to try and lick her father's cheek. "Your eyes look just like Fianna's," she pointed out. She was good at stating the obvious.

Peregrine smiled at his daughter and leaned down to give her a cheek-lick of her own. "Yes, and like your brother's too."
She was probably tired from the long trip, that was understandable. It was surprising his other two pups had such energy to them. Fianna seemed to be taking hints from her brother and was already trotting over to stay close to her paternal parent. Peri smiled at his excited son again and then looked up at Shannah. "I'll find you a den to settle in and then we can talk. Come on."
He moved his paw away from his daughter's pounce and fixed her with a chastising, but pleased look. A little hunter in the making. His heart tightened again with pride and pleasure. He was going to be able to teach his children to hunt.
"This way." He turned and on his way past Shannah offered her a gentle smile. He glanced back as he heard the sound of paws scampering after him, and slowed his pace slightly so they could keep up.

Fianna watch her siblings and her father interact, still safely over by Shannah. He didn't seem so bad. Her tail wagged as he licked Aislin, and she decided to join the party. Staying was a good idea; it would give them more time to see this part of the forest, although aside from her father being here, it really looked a lot like all of the other forest they had passed through.
She eyed his toes and braced herself for her launch, her tail still wagging. A little nibble on his leg wouldn't hurt either. She hit dried leaves instead, and nearly ran into Aislin for her trouble. Dad was quick. Fianna looked up at her father, her tail held low as he looked down at her, but the moment he had looked away it lifted again. She watched him walk away and interact with her mother with curiosity.
"Mama?" She asked, as the large male began walking away from them. "Should we go with him?"
