The day was bright and sunny. A gentle wind blew and tussled the long grass in the meadow. Plopped down consciously was a large black and white mass. Upon closer inspection, that mass would be determined to be a wolf. He was definitely large than most and he seemed almost asleep. Almost.
His green eyes were partway closed and he was lazily watching the various insects flit around. He'd flick an ear occasionally as a fly would land on it and when even let out a large yawn every once in awhile. He seemed very, very cow-like. His pelt was black and white spotted, like a cow's, and his movements were slow and somewhat sluggish. Despite this, he was a good natured fellow and would say hello to anyone that passed by. But it wasn't often anyone passed by his general area, so he tended to wander around.

Today, Shiloh felt that hunting would be a good use of her time. There wasn't too much to do for the pack at the moment, so once she had finished her usual duties, she set out from the protective thorn barrier and started searching. She could have kept to the usual hunting grounds, as well... but she also felt the need to wander for a while. Sometimes, she missed her old, less predictable lifestyle. The habits of a lone wolf die hard, it seemed.
She studied a scent, her nose barely hovering an inch from the ground. A rabbit. Small prey, but easy for a single wolf to bring down and take home. She tracked it eagerly down the path, when the trees suddenly broke and she stepped out into a meadow. Curious, she had never been this way before. The long grass seemed to be the perfect place for a rabbit to hide. She stalked through it, until she saw a mass of white. There it was... Or maybe not? It seemed to have black spots too. Then, she realized that the shape was large, even larger than she.
Shiloh crept towards Colf from behind, her expression one of wary interest.

The unusually large wolf let out a massive yawn. Today had been a slow day for him. The most activity he'd done for most of it would be to change positions. When he heard the grass sway in a new way, since he'd gotten used to the pattern through a whole day's listening to it, he lifted his head up. He swiveled it around to spy a female wolf crouched low in the tall grass. He wagged his tail good-naturedly and grinned stupidly. "Well Howdy there lil' Miss!" He woofs in a deep voice. He roused himself some before getting to his paws. Despite his large size he didn't seem very intimidating. His posture was loose and relaxed. All in all he seemed more like an oversized ball of black and white fur. He didn't make any attempt to get closer to her since he knew some wolves could be skittish.

As she moved forward, Colf stirred. Shiloh froze, one paw up in the air in mid-step, watching him. But he didn't get up at first. Instead, he smiled and wagged his tail, so she responded with a uncertain wag of her own. Then he spoke and finally got to his paws. She continued to stand there, unsure of what to do.
He obviously wasn't a danger, that much was true... And he seemed to be lounging about here, well away from the packlands, so she had no reason to worry about that, either... But Shiloh was shy, and she was afraid of saying or doing something that might insult him by accident.
Eventually, she swallowed to clear her throat and spoke. "Hello there...?" she said quietly, her voice trailing off as if she was asking a question.

Colf watched the timid female with interest. He wagged his tail a few more times, pleased to see she wasn't growling or bolting away from him. He walked forward slowly, towards her, in his ambling way of his. He made sure to keep his tail low, so as not to be challenging or pose a threat. When he finally stopped he was about two feet from her. Then realization sparked in his eyes and he almost facepaw'd himself. "Well gosh! Excuse me! I darn went and forgot to introduce myself!" He says with a deep rumbling chuckle. "The name's Colf. And what is the lil Missy's name?" He asks with a friendly grin.
