Because every time someone enters the town there is never like a slanted walk or a car going up it its just a straight drive and straight walk....so is it really a hill?

Lol, Bill. I believe it actually is since you usually have to walk up this long a** highway at the very beginning that's up a mountain, so yeah!

well, Silent Hill is based in the mountains and even before the movie, it was
obviously apparent that it was in the mountains. So why the early settlers didn't call it 'Silent Mountains' beats me- has a pretty nice ring to it.
