Coral propelled herself through the clear blue waters of the lagoon and felt the warm currents she created against her slick skin. She looked up at the surface from her spot near the bottom, her tail curled and uncurled subconsciously, stirring up little dust clouds of sand. Slowly she made her way up to the surface to where she was just under it, her mane floating eerily around her face. The bright red seathi tipped her nose up so that it did break the surface and she blew out a huff of air, spraying water into the air and giggling at the effect. Her ears went forward as a colorful bird flew out of a tree and sent a loud call through the sky, her red eyes watched it disappear over the trees on the other bank and she smiled happily.

His arrival to his father's home hadn't been the most comfortable or enjoyable of events. Close to starving, he had been carefully nursed to recovery by a herd doctor and only when he was fit, had he been granted the opportunity to pursue the one he was searching for. However, when he had finally come face to face with his fabled sire he had gotten more than he bargained for - Sylph Forcas had been absolutely huge and more painfully, hadn't seemed to be happy at his existence. He really shouldn't have been surprised by this, even his mother hadn't wanted him.

...Or at least, this is how the little colt saw things.

As it was, he was now comfortably encounced in the territory of this foreign herd and had been granted the permission to explore it. The weather and the season would be kind to him, ensuring that he wouldn't be subject to slippery slopes or crumbling rock faces for a time. Consequently, he had taken it upon himself to investigate particular points of interest that he wasn't typically accustomed to, one of which happened to be a lagoon. Where he'd come from, he'd never even heard of such a thing! So, what better an idea than to poke his nose around and see exactly what it was.

This in mind, the cream stallion bustled his way through the undergrowth towards the lagoon and came to a pause to admire the clear waters. Little did he know that the flecks of red were not a fish, but a Seathi instead!

Coral noticed a small white soquili with shiny gold jewelry. She wasn't generally all about the shiny things but she was intrigued by the wrappings? that seemed to be around the younger soquili. She dipped back down into the water, her back fin cutting through the surface. She made her way to the shore annd poked her whole head out of the water. "Hello there!" A grin on her face as she used one small hoof to wave awkwardly.

He froze.

Startled wasn't quite the word required to describe how he felt in the moment the 'fish' revealed itself to look like a soquili. His ears pinned against the back of his head and he regarded her with suspicion. His blackened gaze remained fixed on the petite creature as he puzzled over what in the world she was. His father hadn't warned him that such things existed, but then again, Tut had never really asked either. That being said, how was he supposed to know that such a creature existed in the first place?

He forgot his manners in these moments and instead, opened his mouth to reply to the fish creature with a question of his own. "What are you?" he spluttered in a fashion that definitely wasn't eloquent. He was intrigued of course, but confusion didn't suit him well and made him feel far too uncomfortable.

"You're a talking fish!"

Coral looked slightly affronted at the land dwelling foal. She looked at her hooves almost curiously, then back to the foal. "Do I look like a fish from this end? I get my fins..I really do, but have you ever seen a fish that had hooves before?" She giggled and swam closer to the foal and into even more shallow water. There in the bordering shore she raised herself onto her front hooves, using one to send a light spray of water at the foal. "See! I'm not a fish! I am a Seathi!" She grinned, waiting to see what the foal thought of this.

"Tadpoles can have legs," Tut pointed out with a small smirk. Unfortunately for Coral, she'd encountered a particular arrogant problem child. Too young yet to be comfortable or to have found his place in society, he took his ego boosts where he could. These ego boosts were always present when he was right and knew of this. He made a valid point as well, as tadpoles did possess legs as they developed into fullgrown frogs so for all he knew, Coral could be...

He paused, lifted a brow and seemed to put two and two together to make six. If she had legs then that meant that when she grew up some more she would become a proper horse, a slimey horse, but a proper horse. Right? He could therefore assume that a 'seathi' was the baby form of some sort of frog-soquili. Ridiculous as this may have sounded to other soquili, no one could fault the foal for his creativity and his attempts to place these particular facts together.

"So does this mean you're a tadpole then?" he enquired curiously, wrinkling his nose as he was splashed by the water. He gave a shake of his head, spraying the small number of droplets that had settled in the strands of his mane. "How odd, how long until you grow the other set of legs then?" he continued.
