Ophelia was out again the family had gone out to shop and Ophelia had asked about lingering in a particular part of Gaia where there were many stores where she could just window shop. She stood twirling her parasol slowly in the afternoon sun idly looking at each garment and coming to the conclusion many of the styles were just not suitable for her needs. Not that she was looking for anything in particular. Her long dark hair was straight as always her violet eyes roamed soon to the brick work..how the ivy was beggining to take over the wall....Mother would be happy.
A bored child was a dangerous child, and the same could be said for Tobias. Actually, a bored Tobias was even more dangerous than a regular bored child! He didn't usually whine about being bored; he just stopped being bored, and made a nuisance of himself. Today he was harassing some poor store clerks; getting them to help him find the 'perfect' jacket for a man of his station. The poor worker was the only one in for the day, and every time he sent her away to find something better, he would find a small trinket to hide up his sleeves or in his pockets. By the third time the woman came back, he was just sliding a gold leaf pen into his right sleeve, and a weird pendant into his pocket. It didn't matter what he took, he just took it.
Well now, that was slightly more interesting. Like watching a silent film she noticed a boy who was...quite frankly 'playing' the sales clerk in a particular store. She took a couple of steps closer to the window and to the sid eso the mannaquin was no longer in the way. SHe twirled the parosal a few more times before stopping. You could almost hear the piano playing in the back of her head as much needed background music to this rather interesting heist. He was skilled, but being that she was seperated from the situtation she was able to was him without hesitation take each object and hide them. Now came the question..would he push his luck? Or leave with his satchel of goods?
The clerk returned, looking quite frustrated; Tobias just smiled up at her, his heavily lined red eyes wide with pure, played-up innocence. Yeeees, keep her focused on him! Not the fact things had gone missing! He tried on the new coat (humming loudly to avoid her noticing the jingling his sleeves was doing), looking at himself this way and that in the mirror, and sighed. He liked this coat, he really, really liked this coat; but he didn't think he was good enough to get away with just taking it...yet. "Eeeh...Ne'er mind, lass. I'll haveta take me business elsewhere." He sighed, working the coat off and handing it back to her, making his quick (but not too quick as to arouse suspicions!) exit, his hands stuffed in his pockets. He'd come back for the coat. It was a nice coat.
Ophelia watched and waited and was smiling to herself as she turned to leave, after all her show was over. As the boy was leaving she gave a small laugh into the back of her hand.
"Don't go near any metal dectectors.." She commented loud enough for the boy to hear which was a feat for Ophelia. Honeslty she wasn't quite sure what to make of it. She had watched the boy steal, should she report him? Warn the clerks? Ah the delima. It wasn't that she encouraged dishonesty, it just wasn't any of her business.
He turned to regard the gloomy looking girl when she spoke to him. Holy crap she needed to see the sun! Beware of metal detectors? Yeah, he wasn't stupid enough to go near them; every shop he had 'visited' thus far were ones without them. He hadn't mastered getting past the security in the bigger stores, and he didn't want to risk another call to his Parents. Not yet, anyway. Instead he grinned at her; a wide, trouble-promising grin hidden under a very thinly veiled layer of innocence. "I dunno what yer talkin about." He hummed out, slipping closer because he could. "Hey hey, are you onna them walking dead?"
Ophelia only smiled dumurely as she continued to walk her small steps in any direction she happened to be going in before the other lad had decided to come closer. Not that she moved incredible quickly, small dainty steps were her speed. So he was going to pretend he was innocent, she only smiled again and then gave a wistful sigh.
"Sadly I am not. Though I thank you for the compliment." She replied a gloved hand coming up to tuck some of her black hair out of her face. "Will you pawn them?" She turned the conversation on him pondering if he'd continue to pretend or not that he had them.
"Compliment?" Tobias parroted in a baffled tone; That wasn't a compliment! But okay, whatever. Lady Blue was not with him; he had yet to call her from a nearby perch, but she was watching with her beady little eyes. Her question made him chuckle, but he shrugged. "Pfft I don' pawn me things. Can't be lookin atem if I don' got 'em." Yes, yes they were his things now, he always had them. Always. "Very fond of me stuff, Mum says I'ma hoarder or somesuch; thinkin she's crazy." He circled the air near his temple with an index finger. "So wouldja die or somethin iffn ye lost that umbrella thingy?"
