Putt-putt-prrrrr-putt......

"Finneas, what exactly is that sound?!" Elegancia pulled herself up to the front of her limousine, sticking her head through the window that separated the front from the back. "I don't like how it sounds, not in the least!!" Her butler did not have anything to say, but shortly thereafter, the vehicle returned to normal and moved forward at a normal pace. The brunette pulled herself back again, looking to Adira and smiling sheepishly. "Sorry for the discomfort." She went to scratch her leg, but then remembered that there was a rather large, clunky cast in place. It was embarrassing, and to be honest, she forgot about it 60% of the time-- Elegancia was still not used to it.

Unfortunately for the lovely duo, Team Vogue's plans had been put on a sudden hiatus. Elegancia preferred to think that it was by no fault of her own, but all on Sailor Taranis. She still hadn't filled Adira, a.k.a. Sailor Perseus, in on what had taken place between herself and the Soldier of Sand, and she still hadn't decided if she ever would. It was very humiliating, especially because of their encounter with Black Lady. Adira probably already thought very low of her, so she didn't want to make it much worse. "Pretty soon," she began, "pretty soon this thing will be off."

As soon as she had started talking once more, no sooner had the car began to act up again. Except Elegancia could actually feel the whole thing stopping. And as if by some bad luck, her limousine actually came to a complete halt next to a rather distinguishing set of golden arches. "Oh, just my luck!!" Elegancia wanted to bark at her chauffer, but decided against it. Adira didn't need to see that!

"Its no discomfort at all Ele." Adira was fairly comfortable in any limo, though why the other girl had suggested or insisted on taking it to lunch was another matter entirely. She watched silently as the other girl shimmied around the back of the limousine, still wondering what had happened to her leg. She'd pressed a couple of times, and gotten no answers either way.

It was odd, but Adira figured that Elegancia would regale her with the story in time. And if not, then she'd just have to do some digging. "Hopefully! You'll need extra training to get it back up to strength again." She'd been trying, she really had, to get the girl to train with her. It had worked to some extent, with the two attending self defense classes together. Perseus had to know that her partner could truly have her back, after all. They'd been through so much together that she trusted Rosalind, and by extension Elegancia, with her life.

The thought scared her a little. She was snapped out of her revelry, however, when the car sputtered off to the side of the road. "Well, it seems like we won't be making our lunch reservations then." which was really a shame... Adira was positively starving. Opening the side door, the girl stepped out of the car, watching attentively as the chauffeur opened a smoking hood. "Looks like a no-go on the car, Elegancia dear, at least not for a while."

No, it couldn't be true-- how mortifying!! Elegancia rarely had company, but when she did, she expected them to be in comfort. A broken-down car in the middle of traffic, missing reservations and a fuming hood were most definitely not comfortable things. "I am so, so, so sorry, Adira." Elegancia lugged her cast-covered leg out of the car, hopped over to Finneas, and demanded he fix the car that instant. This was said subaudibly, so that Adira could not hear her being a downright demanding brat-- it was something she didn't need to see or hear, obviously.

"Unfortunately, it looks like we'll be missing our reservations. I'm starving, hopefully we won't waste away to nothing. It's like a desert out here." She pointed around at everything, from the towering business buildings, the gas station, and the McDonald's. Nope, none of them were suitable places for dining. Not in the least! "Do you have an idea or two for us? I'm not sure what we can do." She inched towards a public property bench, one which had suitable shading by way of a towering tree, and sat down. There was room for Adira, too, of course. "I do wish our restaurant was close. Especially because I'm so hungry."

She looked at the golden arches across the street. Nope, looked like they were going to starve.

"It's alright Elegancia, it happens occasionally." Adira sat down next to her sailor counterpart and her giant white cast. Man, that thing had to suck! She was glad that she'd never had that particular experience before. An amused smile touched her lips at the overly dramatic description of their surroundings. It really wasn't as deserted and bleak as the other girl had made it sound, but she knew what the other girl meant. There wasn't any suitable dining places that she'd heard of.

"Well, while we wait for the car to get fixed, we could get food at the MacDonalds? Not exactly a 5 star restaurant, but the food is good enough." She'd only been to a few in the US, but usually ended up at one when she traveled. Japan's MacDonalds, in particular, were a cut above the rest; though the vegan options in India had been intriguing.

"And its close enough for us to walk to, even with that leg of yours." Adira was actually surprised that Elegancia hadn't tried to get a 'designer' cast of some kind. She knew they came in different colors, and the fact that she'd gotten a while one probably meant the doctor had (wisely) not told her of other options.

Adira could totally see Elegancia being the one person in the world with a custom Gucci cast.

"Mac... Donald's?" Elegancia looked at Adira, then at the golden arches, then back at Adira. "Oh, you're so funny!" She waved her hand through the air, dismissing the joke. "But seriously, where shall we eat?" There was a moment of silence, and one of Adira's faces of seriousness. She knew that expression-- she was not kidding. There may have been many unfavorable things that the two of them had done together, such as dusting youma and challenging Black Lady, but adding to that list wasn't exactly something Elegancia wanted to do. Least of all by eating at the greasy establishment of McDonald's.

"Well, I mean," she paused, looking across the street, then continued, "if you really want to, I suppose we could..." Elegancia pushed herself up with the aide of her crutches, then lugged herself forward as daintily and elegantly as possible. "It'd be better than sitting in the cold, and we could speak in private!" Oh, of course Elegancia always mentioned the positive! But in her head all she could think of was how disgusting the food was, and if Adira wanted to fatten herself up, well... that was her prerogative. The brunette turned back to face her friend, then added, "well, shall we go?"

She'd need help getting across, of course.

"We shall!" Adira smiled and helped haul her friend to her feet, waiting with her at the corner for the light to change before helping her hobble across the crosswalk. It wasn't exactly easy, but it wasn't a burden either. Only a few more weeks until Elegancia was cast free and able to patrol again.

"It really isn't that bad of food Ele... it's quite popular in Europe." Adira had a very strong feeling that those words might sooth some of her trepidation about the fast food joint. The red trimmed door was opened silently for Elegancia, ushering her into a warm, brightly lit interior. Thankfully for the both of them, this was one of the better maintained establishments, clean and generally friendly looking.

"Not a five-star lunch, but it should pass." The girl behind the counter looked behind them kind've bored like, and Adira held up a finger signaling that they needed a minute. The blonde teen disappeared behind the wall behind them, seemingly to do something less boring. "See anything that sounds interesting?"

Oh, how easily Elegancia was swayed. Sort of like a little kid who didn't want to go to the store-- but there will be toys there-- and sold. "Well, I suppose that anything that is considered delicious in Europe might be worth trying, right?" Elegancia gulped down a scent of freshly-cooked french fries, looking to them in all their golden glory. "Well, I would certainly like... some of those...."

Oh, no, the beast was about to be unleashed!!

"Perhaps the chicken selects? A large, I like chicken strips-- I sort of want to try a Big Mac, too, are those good? Perhaps an apple pie, as well, or maybe an Oreo McFlurry-- that sounds delicious, too... As for a drink, oh, my... A diet coke. I don't hold calories too well." She reached into her clutch, pulled out a one-hundred dollar bill, and handed it to Adira. "I hate using cash, so I'll break this now-- let them know they can keep the change. Oh, you were going to order for us, right? Did you get my entire order?"
PostPosted: Tue Dec 07, 2010 2:29 pm

Adira gaped at Elegancia's order. For someone who had thrown up such a fuss about not getting her fivestar meal, she certainly was trying to replace quality with quantity. She could hardly get a word in edgewise through the girls wonderings, and it wasn't until the very end that Adira even realized that it was an order at all. "Uh, I think so." She accepted the note a bit dumbly, gaping a bit at Ele. Who knew?

She bristled a bit at the comment to keep the change; did she not know the value of money? Or at the very least, she clearly didn't know what breaking a hundred meant either. "This isn't the kind of place that keeps the change." The teenage worker behind the counter certainly looked much less interested after that statement.

"Why don't you go and get us a table? I'll take care of getting the food." Adira stepped up to the counter facing a woman glaring daggers at her and relayed most of the proffered order, as well as her own additions to the list. She enjoyed MacDonald's when it was in severe moderation, but every once in a while it simply hit the spot.

After paying (and receiving change) she waited off to the side for the workers to fill their rather large order. Adira balanced the heaping tray after a couple of minutes, moving into the seating section to look for her glossy haired companion.

"Yoohoo! Adira, dear, over here!" Elegancia shot a hand into the air and waved daintily. She could, after all, let her hair down here. It was McDonald's, right? Thankfully, there was no one of importance in the restaurant to see Elegancia act so uninhibited. "Here, let me clean a spot for you." Reaching into her purse, Elegancia shuffled around for disinfectant wipes-- she had just used them to wipe a spot up for herself. One could never be so sure as to what kind of germs were lurking about on a McDonald's table, so one had to play it safe.

As Adira approached, Elegancia had to keep herself from drooling. Not only because it was unsightly, but because she didn't want to ruin her newly-applied lipgloss. "Th-that smells wonderful," she noted, "even if it doesn't look so pristine..." When the tray was set before her, Elegancia eagerly picked up her box of chicken strips. The array of sauces lined next to the package looked interesting-- barbeque? honey mustard? sweet & sour?-- the choices!! Of course, she'd have to be careful as to how quickly she ate. Elegancia didn't want to look like a pig in front of Adira!

Although, she did see her eat the cake at the Masquerade, so maybe it was alright... To play it safe, she'd wait to see Adira start munching away. "So, Adira, what did you get?"
PostPosted: Tue Dec 14, 2010 12:38 pm

Adira smiled at Elegancia, unbelieving that she'd just disinfected a Mcdonalds table! Of all the things she'd seen in her life, that had been a first. The sentiment was certainly appreciated though, as you never COULD be sure what was lurking around a fast food table. "Thank you." She sat in the cleaned spot and set the two trays on the table in front of her.

You could certainly tell which tray was Elegancia's. Her own tray had a fair amount of food, but it was certainly in smaller quantities than the latter. "What I normally get here I guess- Big Mac meal and an m'n'm mcflurry." Even if the Mcdonals on this side of the pond wasn't as good, it didn't mean she didn't enjoy the taste still. Grabbing a little cup of ketchup, Adira set to work on munching through some of her fries.

"What do you think of McDonald's so far?" She certainly had looked happy enough at the smell of food. Adira was beginning to think that Ele had a few hidden habits of her own that were not necessarily 'proper' and that eating might be one of them. It didn't really bother her, it was just interesting to see a side of the girl that she hadn't before.

"It's... it's... it's absolutely delicious," Elegancia squealed between French fries, "I mean, it's disgusting, but oh-so-good." This may have been the guiltiest pleasure Elegancia had participated in, next to chocolate. "I hope you're happy, Adira. I have a newfound addiction." She smiled playfully at her tan friend, dabbed grease off of her lips with a napkin, then took a massive gulp of Diet Coke.

It took her entire being of willpower to choke back a massive burp. Large amounts of greasy fast food had already been vacuum-sucked down her throat, she didn't need to impact her lady visage even more by belching.

Now she moved on to her chicken strips. When she popped the little white box open, a delectable scent wafted up into her nostrils. Needless to say, Elegancia finished one strip in two bites. "How many calories do you think this is, Adira?"

Adira let out a smirk at the thought of Elegancia addicted to McDonalds. She could just imagine the heiress calling to have it delivered at some point, and throwing around obscene amounts of money until her secret demand was met. The girl set into her food, also enjoying the greasy goodness, albeit at a much slower rate than the other girl. "I don't think you want to know Ele."

With a twist of curls, she looked over each shoulder. They were far enough away from any prying ears that she could see, but Adira kept her voice low. "Besides, two nights of patrolling or a single fight would probably work this all off. The more activity you do, the more calories you need." Did that mean that this food was good for you? Absolutely not. She could practically feel it clogging her arteries. "I think we're fairly active, no?" Adira smiled and crunched into a warm golden fry. Delicious.

"Yes, active, indeed," Elegancia said in response to Adira. But there was a prickling sense of curiosity in her mind that just needed to know exactly how many calories she had been stuffing in her face. Elegancia slid her hand over the paper mat that laid in the tray, eventually turning it over. Much to her surprise, there was a graph for their entire menu, detailing every nutritional fact that she ever needed to know about their junk food. Unfortunately, she wished she had never seen the facts, for as soon as Elegancia knew just how much she was going to have to work, she began to feel. Well. Fat.

And that was her worst fear, of course-- being a plus-sized girl who chowed on McDonald's all day. This was her perception, of course, and she avoided their food for a reason. Not only because it was so cheap and tacky, but because it made people big.

"We're leaving," she said hurriedly, "now." Elegancia reached for one last french fry, stopped herself, and then stood up. "With or without you," she continued, "I can't be in here a moment longer." Well, she could have been-- but not without gorging herself some more. Better safe than sorry!

Once outside, Elegancia actually wanted to encounter a youma. She had fat to work off-- and she would be damned before she had to do push-ups and crunches.

Clearly Elegancia had more problems with the fast food lunch than she'd originally let on. After ordering an obscene amount of food and eating a good portion, the girl had stood up and briskly walked outside. Adira sat at the table for a second, more than a little flabbergasted at what had occurred. The abrupt departure not only had her puzzled, but a little upset as well. She had half a mind to tell her that the food in fancy restaurants was sometimes just as bad for you, but they didn't give nutritional information!

Shaking it out of her head (she had a feeling it would make the other girls eating habits to take a turn for the worst), Adira grabbed her bag and her coke, heading out the front doors after the cast-footed girl. It wasn't hard to catch up. "Wait for me Ele."

Once outside, it seemed as if the driver was clever enough to call a backup car for the two of them, another (smaller) but sleek town car waiting at the corner behind the limo half hooked up to a tow truck. "Looks like we have a ride at the very least." She smiled- today hadn't been too rough after all.

McDonalds adventure accomplished!
