I know there's already a ton here and there, but I thought it'd be nice to have a list of recommendations, including, maybe some other kinds of "punk" I'm okay with Desert/Arcanepunk here too, for instance, but probably not, like, Dieselpunk. Whatever.
So, the list of movies I've compiled so far are: (and I'm going to be honest here, a lot of them only have Steampunk elements)
City of Lost Children Wild Wild West The Golden Compass The Time Machine League of Extraordinary Gentlemen The Prestige Hell Boy
So I'd love some suggestions and stuff.

I have a suggestion for a Steampunk movie.
It's called Steamboy and it is actually an Anime movie from the same creator's of Akira. The graphics are amazing, a true spectacle, and the storyline is well planned. Only, the movie itself is kind of long and kind of drags on a bit in the middle. But, all in all, it's a very interesting movie and I would highly recommend it. ^^

I know of a movie (which hasn't been released yet as far as I know), the main character is kinda steampunkish, it's wild-west story. The title is Dust.

I suggest the Illusionist, it isnt steampunk but very Victorian in flavor. I also enjoyed the latest Wolfman movie since it displays the asylum quite well.
I have a few movies sitting around on my steampunk shelf, I'll check later.
Oh, as for anyone who loves anime I suggest Steam Detective.

their is an odd Ron Perlman movie called the "Mutant Chronicles" that has a little bit of a steampunk theme. Its a pretty decent Starz movie.

Following teh same lines as The Illusionist, The Prestige is an excellent movie with fantastic actors and many clever inventions. Not to mention, David Bowie is in it and plays a rather fascinating scientist, and Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are fantastic rivals.

On a Hungarian steampunk blog site sometimes they post some trailers of newer steampunkish movies smile I found three-four by now, although 1 of them looks more fantasy action than steampunk (Sucker Punch) The other two are: The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne (22 episode scifi series) Trailer is here. The Warrior's Way (blogger says it's some kind of weird west - steampunk crossover), trailer is here.

Found some other (from the blog): Riese (it was originally a web series then the SyFy bought it). The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec.
