Name: Cecilia Prisyalt
Nickname: Her stepmother calls her CeCe, but don't you dare ever let her hear you calling her that; if you insist on shortening her name, call her Celia.
Age: 29
Birthday: August 18
Sign: Leo
Gemstone: Citrine
Blood Type: B
Fav. Food: Instant Food. Anything that can be made in a microwave/toaster is a winner in Cecilia's book. She doesn't really have the patience to bake, broil, or fry; that's what restaurants are for.
Hated Food: Potatoes. That texture as they coat your tongue, that fuzzy feeling in your throat... it's like swallowing cotton.
Profession: Proprietor and (currently)sole employee of The Red Herring, a bookstore.
Hobbies:
❧History- Ever since she was in middle school, Cecilia has had a passion for history. While all the other kids were watching cartoons and reading the latest mass-produced fiction tripe, Cecilia was rereading her history textbook for the millionth time and watching reruns of history channel specials. Her passion for history exceeded everything else in her life and when she grew up, Cecilia dreamt of being a history professor a la' Indiana Jones. Even though the dream never played out, Cecilia still is an avid reader of history, especially anything concerning the Enlightenment; European History was her major in college and she still can recite most of the English Kings in order... as well as their various mistresses (oh the Tudors~). Her passion for History isn't something she really broadcasts all that much, although, if anyone states an incorrect "fact" in her presence she won't hesitate to "educate" them.
❧Reading- Kind of a given seeing as she owns and runs a bookstore, Cecilia will read pretty much anything she can get her hands on. From Twilight to War and Peace, she's most likely read it and if not, it's probably in her huge 'To Read' pile sitting precariously on her nightstand. Cecilia makes an effort to read most of the new shipments she gets each week, if only to make sure her customers aren't buying a crappy book. However, Cecilia can be a bit of a snob when it comes to books; she firmly believes that the classics are always better and all new books are simply retreading on the old formulas, it takes a lot for a new book to make it to the top of her favorites list.
❧Collecting/Trading Old Books- Cecilia belongs to a group of literary nerds like herself who scour book sales and auctions for rare, autographed, or first edition books which they then show off and trade amongst themselves. As this hobby can get a wee bit on the expensive side, Cecilia has never bought anything museum-quality; the coolest thing she has is an autographed copy of The Hobbit. ❧Tutoring- Cecilia is known by most of the History and English teachers in Destiny City and they often send students who need a bit more in-depth tutoring to her. Despite Cecilia's rather surly nature, she enjoys teaching and instilling the same passion into a student-- forcefully if she has to. Kids drop by the shop whenever they want and she only has a few regulars who make a point to come by every time a big project or paper is due. She's fairly good with kids, preferring to be way more informal than a teacher-- she can handle pretty much anything you throw at her. Hillworth delinquents, Sovereign scholars; the only students Cecilia has really any trouble with are the typical "prissy" Crystal girls; they remind her of her younger step-sister. Tutoring gives Cecilia an outlet to express her intellectual expertise; it's her way of being a teacher.
Virtues:
❧Logical- Cecilia does not allow her emotions to overrule her brain. Even in a crisis situation, Cecilia remains cool-headed and looks for a practical solution to the problem at hand. She may at times seem a bit cold, but Cecilia believes that reining in one's emotions and keeping a level-head is far more useful than panicking/freaking out at the first sign of trouble. Given a problem or puzzle, Cecilia looks at it from all possible angles before coming up with a solution or idea. This virtue helped her a lot during school and she still relies on her logical mind to help herself and others.
❧Economical- Cecilia is a firm believer in saving money by cutting all unnecessary expenses from her life. She lives rather simply in a one bedroom apartment, believing that one person does not need any more space than that. Cecilia is one of those people who actually cuts coupons and will make a store match it's competitors prices, she can stretch a dollar out farther than you'd think possible. This doesn't mean Cecilia is cheap, she still occasionally splurges on herself (she recently bought a rather slick HDTV and a TiVo system-- four shows at once? Amazing.), she's just not one of those people who goes shopping every weekend for clothes and useless crap. Cecilia buys only what she needs and more often than not, she ends up using everything she buys. As a result of her limited spending, Cecilia is sitting on a generous nest egg; she could live far more extravagantly than she does.
❧Retentive- Cecilia has a brain wired to memorize facts, dates, names etc. Need to know the names of the English monarchs in order? Cecilia most likely could tell you. The address of her birth mother's apartment in Chicago? 9812. Cecilia doesn't have a photographic memory, she couldn't recite whole chapters of books; she could, however, cite her favorite lines from said books. This trait made her a model student in any history class as a kid, as most of history is memorizing and recalling names, dates, and places; probably why history has remained a passion of hers all her life. This virtue makes Cecilia a great observer, as she can recall little details of a situation or place with little trouble.
❧Blunt- You want the truth? Cecilia will give it to you straight when you ask her opinion. She's not one to sugar-coat things and believes that people will get more out of honest criticism than sugar-coated bullshit. If you ask Cecilia for her honest opinion, you can be sure that's what you're getting.
Flaws:
❧Me, Myself, & I- At the end of the day, Cecilia's number one concern is herself. If ever faced with a situation where she could intervene, she more often than not asks herself 'How will this benefit and/or inconvenience me?'. Cecilia is not usually privy to acts of charity or selflessness unless she's getting something out of it, no matter how small. So while she may inadvertently save/help a senshi by running over a Youma with her truck, she was doing it more out of a desire to preserve her own life. She is a human being though, and like most any other human, she is sometimes struck by occasional need to help clean up/calm down said senshi.
❧Pessimistic- Cecilia is extremely disillusioned with the world; she didn't get what she wanted, so why would anyone else? Cecilia tends to expect the worst in any situation, and this attitude brings down the general mood of anyone around her and repels most people from the grumpy woman's presence. She's not really the person to go to if you want an encouraging word or someone to soothe your anxiety. Yes, the world tends to suck more often than not and yes, you probably will fail that test tomorrow.
❧Unmotivated- Ever since her dream to become a tweed-wearing, pipe-smoking college professor didn't pan out, Cecilia hasn't really... done much of anything. She bought the store, and has continued to run said store and follow the same monotonous daily routine for the last five years. She has no desire to go back to college and begin a new career because really, what's the point? She's almost thirty years old and it would be a waste of time to try and find a new career now; she lies to herself that repeating the same thing every day for the rest of her life without trying to salvage her dream doesn't make her a pathetic quitter.
❧Blunt- You want the truth? Cecilia will tell you no matter if you really don't want to hear it. Yes that dress makes you look fat. No, you have no chance of getting a B this semester. Cecilia has little tact, she will lay down the truth every single time without a regard to whether it was a good idea or not. In her opinion? You'll get over it and thank her later.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Dark green, a bit on the dull side; her eyes have lost all their spark.
Hair: Pale, washed out blond and straight; falls to her shoulder blades.
Body: Cecilia is rather thin and pale; spending your life in a bookstore subsisting on Lean Cuisine will do that to a person. She's on the tall side, standing about 5' 9".
Clothes: Rather simple, a white long-sleeved t-shirt and a pair of jeans with slight holes/wearing in the knees. Cecilia also wears a black leather jacket that is worn from years of wear. Shoes are gym shoes/sneakers.

[STEP]MOTHER
Name:: Marissa Prisyalt Age:: 49 Occupation:: Beautician Relationship:: Surprisingly, Cecilia actually likes her step-mother, even more so than her biological father. Marissa was probably the only person in Cecilia's life who ever bothered to take an active interest in the girl's life and love her unconditionally. Years later, Cecilia has not forgotten this kindness and still makes sure to send her step-mother a card and/or a present on holidays. They still talk on the phone at least twice a month.
FATHER
Name:: Greggory Prisyalt Age:: 53 Occupation:: College Professor (Advanced Mathematics) Relationship:: Cecilia loathes her father and the two rarely, if ever speak. He's the reason why Cecilia doesn't bother to spend holidays/birthdays with the family. There isn't really one definite reason for the animosity between the two; Greggory hated being saddled with a reminder of his old life, and Cecilia hated that he preferred his other daughter Lila. The two of them have come to a mutual agreement to avoid each other as much as possible.
SISTER
Name:: Lila Prisyalt Age:: 22 Occupation:: Law Student Relationship:: While avoiding outright acts of physical violence, Lila and Cecilia fight over everything. All throughout their childhood, the two turned every little thing into a competition; who could get better grades, who had the hotter boyfriend etc. Once Lila beat Cecilia in fulfilling her respective dream of getting into Harvard Law School, Cecilia just... gave up. She rarely speaks to her sister, getting news of her accomplishments and the like through her step-mother.
CAT
Name:: Malachi Age:: OLD (12+) Breed:: Mutt Domestic Shorthair Coloring:: Mostly black with spots of white on his face, legs, and belly. Relationship:: Cecilia and Malachi aren't master and friend, more like... grudging housemates. The cat was originally her sister Lila's, but it was decided he was too old to make the trip to Massachusetts and he was dumped on given to Cecilia. Malachi doesn't really do or like much of anything besides eating, sleeping, and monopolizing Cecilia's bed/couch/chairs.
