The Great Eyris Siege * = Feel free to have your character do the task described, if you do not know what to have your character do- these are only helpful suggestions. You can do what you want to. A foul horn echoed over the city. Its cringing melody was familiar to some and foreign to others, but it meant the same to everyone; their executioners had arrived. The expansive field around Learania's capital was hidden by a shroud of black armor. Not even Fefga Manor was without troops around it, for the spirit had evacuated herself and relocated her presence somewhere within the castle. To the south, unorganized clusters of bandits had formed, waiting for the order to charge. There was no escape. The time for preparation was over.
"So... they have arrived." Lord Zeon glared ahead of him at the scene of the city, as he calmly stood in the castle courtyard. The evacuations had finished and all who could fight were moving into place. *All archers were being called to the walls. *Flying units were preparing to deploy at the barracks for when they received the order. *The staff users selected to cast the barrier had been placed all around the outskirts of the city, but inside the walls *with their own protection group. This left the soldiers of the walls open to attack, but it also allowed them to attack back with arrows, magic and catapult. Captain Nino and Lord Zeon were stationed in the courtyard to greatly boost the power of the barrier as its center. One of the guards handed Nino a staff she probably had never seen before. "We will invoke the barrier, now. Together, we will ward magic and shield from siege... for a while, at least." He glanced over at the captain. "Come. The others await our initiative."
Zeon promptly banged his cane upon the ground and the incantation circle beneath him began to glow as the runes on his cane did. The two magicians' power flew into the sky and began to sweep into the shape of a bowl. All around the inside of the walls, the others' circles began to glow as well and their barriers swept up to meet with the rest. The casting was a success; Eyris was protected by a great barrier. It was a sign from Learania to their enemies that they would not be defeated so easily. Everyone had to hold out for as long as they could.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Out in the field, two riders came up to meet with another. Vern turned to barely catch sight of them in the corner of his eye, before pretentiously looking away again. "How wonderful of you to come, gentlemen. I was beginning to become impatient."
Epimetheus and Mendeleeve moved their steeds next to Vern's and looked out on the army. One grinned devilishly while the other expressed nothing. "Siege machinery is slow to move, but they are in range." Mendeleeve replied. "Cool it, wise-a**. We don't need to rush anywhere. Or are you really trying to rush the Baroness?" Epimetheus added.
"Believe me... the very last thing I would ever wish for her Majesty to do is to hurry..." Vern grinned cockily. "Anyway, I am glad she decided to come. The sight will be one to behold. We shan't even be required to move from this spot."
As Vern finished bragging, the barrier arose around the city. Epimetheus stared wide-eyed, wondering what was going on. Mendeleeve remained unmoved. "...Pests to the end. I think it's time we began, and consequently end this campaign." Mendeleeve waved his hand to a subordinate near him. "Fire." The order was shouted and the catapults unleashed a round of flaming boulders. They sailed through the air, but anticlimactically crashed into the barrier, doing no noticeable damage. Mendeeleve glared and somehow became more stern. "Cease fire!"
"Interesting." Vern commented. "I have heard of such magic, but never on such a large scale." He shrugged and tapped his fingers upon the staff at his side. "But magic is not impenetrable. It will give way in time, and we can speed up the process by barraging it. The most it will cost us is some ammunition, which we have plenty of. And we can still attack the walls to take out their troublesome catapults and ballistae. Should I relay our plan of action to the bandits?"
"Tch. Who cares! Like they really need to be here, anyway." Epimetheus scoffed. "Let them do as they please." affirmed the more mature paladin. "They are not our concern. After this battle, they will have served their purpose and we shall deal with them however the Baroness wishes. At the very least, they will be a decent distraction."
Vern chuckled at such a reply. He had been living in Sentria since the war began, relaying battle plans and movements. He knew the bandits better than any other Mordachean. "Ah well, such is war." he merely responded. He had no qualm with the idea of being rid of the lot. Drake had yet to even realize that Vern was really, in fact, a man. "Continue, Mendeleeve."
The grass haired paladin once more raised his hand and waved it elegantly to his subordinate before roaring his command with an uncharacteristic expression of rage. "FIRE!!"

"Hm." Outside the southern gate, Drake lounged lazily on the hilt of his sword as he watch the barrier erect. "...Well that's new. Guess it means they wanna fight." He took a big stretch and then turned around to face the bandits that had collected behind him before relaxing his elbow back upon the hilt of the blade. "Whadya say we give it to em', men?!" A raspy chorus of cheers from the bandit army erupted to express their desire to fight. There were bandits from various different groups in addition to the number of bandits that were already at Pentheus, a force from the Shadow Guild, and even a sizable number of mercenary groups that couldn't pass up the chance for looting from the capital of Learania itself. Drake had done well in gathering more strength, and it wasn't even as many as he could have gotten.
Drake laughed as Mordache's boulders did nothing to the barrier. "Mordache can stew over there and toss their rocks all they want! While they act as a distraction, we'll smash that shield and ransack the city, ourselves!!" The acceptance of the idea was clear in the satisfying cheer. "Everything in there is ours for the taking!! And when this city and its people burn to ash- that is, except for the ones we take for ourselves- we'll have new land to dominate!!" The bandits liked the prospect of that even more and their shouts revealed it. "Viscen!" Drake called, as he looked to his left. "When we get inside, take your guys left." He then looked to his right. "Ali, you go right. Jezebel, you're with me."
Drake stood up and swung his sword over his shoulder as he looked back out at the bandit army. "This is our time! This is the day we prove that we can get whatever we want n'this world with our way o' life! And as ya fight, if ya suddenly see your friend lyin' dead on the ground, blood splattered around him and still gushin' out, don't fret!" He paused as he grinned and then spat out with a mixture of laughter in his words. "Cuz that just means more spoils o' war for you!!" The army responded with a cheer mixed with their own laughter. Once he finished laughing, Drake turned around to face the city and flung his arm towards it. "Bandits... attack!!"
While Mordache continued to fire their catapults at the barrier and exposed wall, Sentria's army charged forward, disorganized yet fiercely. Sine the archers at the wall were on the wall, and thus outside of the barrier, arrows began to fly at the bandits. But soon enough, Drake was at the southern gate. "Get this damn gate outta my way!" Not long after he shouted that, a pair of bandits carried in a metal container filled with black powder. The bandits around backed up and Drake ran over to the bandit that was lighting a torch. "Took ya long enough! No time to set a trail, I want inside!" Before the bandits who carried the mine could begin laying a trail of power, Drake swung the broad side of his blade into the bandit with the torch and sent him flying towards the mine. Their screams were their last words as the gate blasted apart from the following explosion. As the smoke settled, Drake emerged as happy as could be. "Spread out get this barrier down! Unleash HELL! Hahaha!"
The army fanned out and began to close upon where the incantation circles glowed. To much a dismay, their weapons clanked helplessly upon the shielding that covered each caster. It was not the same shielding that covered the city, though, but different spells cast by a member of each caster's protection group. Those around each caster drew their weapons as they awaited for the inevitable moment that the bandits broke through. As Drake ran to the nearest circle right by where the gate used to be, he flung his blade, which lodged into the shielding that cracked from the impact. The protectors inside gasped and readied their stance, which only caused Drake to laugh at their fear. When he reached his blade, Drake pulled it out, and then swung it around to crash again at the small barrier, this time dislodging a large piece from it. "Now!" As he jumped back, a rogue from the Shadow Guild tossed a knife through the opening and struck the guarded caster, who spilled blood and fell to the ground. "Jezebel, deal with these 'protectors' for me, will ya? I've gotta get to the castle and... leave my mark on this king." As the bandit army continued to pour into Eyris, Drake ran off into the streets.

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
When the barrier around Eyris came down, it gave Vaida the signal she was waiting for. She couldn't deploy while it was up. It actually gave great time to get ready, but the Commander was anxious to go out onto the battlefield, maybe more so than anyone. While others talked about hoping to survive or about holding out as long as they could, Vaida showed confidence that they would do more than just survive; they would eradicate their enemies.
"Alright, listen up!" She yelled to the troops behind her, as they awaited deployment as the barracks. "Our enemies think they've backed us into a corner! They think this will be our end! Well I don't know about all you wimps, but I plan on living! Who's with me?!" As Vaida lifted her spear into the air, the entire wyvern brigade of Learania resounded. "Mordache and Sentria come at us by soldier, hoof and machine! But this country has something that they do not; we are the proud wyvern riders of Learania! Our resolve shall crush them from the sky! The sky is ours, therefore this battle is already won! Join me now, and fend off this plague! Join me now, and show our strength! Join me now for victory!" Vaida roared a battle cry to bolster the morale of the troops, which was echoed by everyone else. "FLY!"
Umbriel began to flap powerfully and ascended over the city, followed by the full force of Learania's wyvern riders. The wyverns all had catapult ammunition in their grasp. As they approached the field, Vaida shouted to the subordinates on her tail. "Zeiss, Mihira! Form your squads around the dragons! Valter, take your battalion south and crush those bandits! They'll pay for whatever happened to that idiot, Heath! The rest of you, take out the catapults and archers!" She paused and looked back for just a moment to speak lowly to herself. "Where the hell is Gale..." Knowing she couldn't let anything distract her, Vaida returned to the battle. They were just beginning to fly over top the enemy troops. Vaida took a spear from Umbriel's side and aimed it down at the soldiers below. "Ready... attack!" Spears began to soar down into Mordache's army. Many riders commanded their mounts to drop their boulders, which smashed into groups and rolled to crush more. Others waited until they were near the catapults before releasing theirs, smashing the siege before they could do more damage to the city. The fun was underway.
W y v e r n L o r d V a i d a* xxxxxx"You foolish men who walk the earth like blasted kings!" x "I will collect my trophies soon."8===========================> xx J e z e b e l xx <===========================8 xxxxx They had gotten into the city faster than Jezebel thought they would. She was skeptical about the mine, since she didn't know how it worked or how powerful it was, but damn, she sure liked the results. She knew that once they did get in, that barrier wouldn't last long, and she was right. All it took was one person to die for the last thing keeping them out of Eyris to fail.
When Drake ran off to do his own thing, Jezebel chuckled at the chance to let loose. She was going to have some fun. All that was keeping her from her first prey was a damaged magical shield. The bandits around her were already chipping away at it. While they did that, Jezebel swayed over, knowing they couldn't touch her yet. "I wonder, which one of you wants to die first?" She chuckled as she swung her poleaxe's edge into the hole Drake made, creating a long crack which connected to the damage other bandits had done, which caused several large chunks to break off. The Learanians inside were very much exposed. Jezebel grinned seductively at them as she reached to her side. "Perhaps... you?!" Suddenly, she lifted her arm and then tossed a hatchet at the nearest enemy. (meaning if you want it to be you, then feel free to take me on)
"Your wangs shall be a fine addition to the others!"xxxx

Finally, the day where Learania would pay had come. Ali had come to utterly hate them all. That one woman kept ruining his life, and she was from Learania. She was captured by Mordache, a fate Ali did not by any means wish to come of her, but she had not worked alone. There were others at the attack on Feo's fort, and there were others in that ambush near the border. He almost died in that battle! Learanians were better off dead, in his opinion, and he would help make it so.
Sentria's forces were already plowing into the city, with the huge barrier having been defeated. Ali was leading a force to the right, like Drake told him to, when it came down. "Hah! This is too easy! C'mon kid, keep up!" he yelled to the green haired boy that was trailing him. They continued running along the outskirts of the city, the arrows becoming fewer as they went, since the main battle was elsewhere. When Ali reached a street that connected to the main street of the city, he stopped. "Keep goin'! Wrap around tha city an' kill all these ********!" He grabbed Jaren before the kid ran off. "Not you! The bunch o' you stay with me!" He turned ahead and pointed to the cluster of enemies within one of the smaller barriers. "We start with them, then work our way to tha castle!" Ali turned around sharply to one of the bandits. "Iguldra! Barrier! Smash! Now!"
From the group, a large, bulging, heaping, ugly mass of a meat bag stomped out. His long greasily clumped hair straggled behind his thick head and the clumps that weren't glued to his scalp swayed as he came. His eyes were clueless, one more open than the other, and were never once distracted by the fly zipping around his face, which was full of blemishes. His body was exposed, covered only by torn shorts. His rough, worn hands gripped one of the largest hammers many have ever seen a man carry. He made his way to the front of the group and stared at the barrier, then to Ali. "Blahhhhrreeeerrrglllrrrahhhahhhruflerahbluuuuuuuuuuhhh."
Ali's voice squeaked into a high pitch of aggravation. "Tha heeeeeell is comin' out yo mouth--?! JUST BREAK THE BARRIER, ********!" He again pointed angrily to the small barrier that was keeping Learanians safe.
Iguldra blinked one eye and then the other and slowly turned to look at the barrier once more. "Breehhhhhghraahhhh!!" He flexed his muscles and lifted the hammer as he charged at the barrier, the ground shaking a little with each stomp. Iguldra was slow and dumb, incapable of even speaking coherently, but he could take orders and had a great amount of strength. When he swung, the hammer shattered the barrier almost completely, allowing the rest of the bandits to rush in and attack.
"Kid, take out the magicians!" Ali shouted, as he moved in. His sword was drawn, the only question was who to kill first- but he didn't really care.

Super Awesome Swordsman; Jaren Degriess!
I'm the HERO of JUSTICE LOVE ME! A green head bobbed through the streets of Eyris, following behind his friend. It had been a long time since this particular hairstyle had been seen in Learania. More then a year now... or was it less? Jaren didn't exactly remember, he did remember though why he was here.
To bring justice to Learania's evil ruler. The guild captain "Wrath", Drake had explained everything to him. Wrath had to go in order for Learania to be a country of Hero's. He wasn't entirely sure what that meant but he supposed he'd figure it out along the way. Besides Ali was here wasn't he? And since his dark skinned friend was a Hero in making Jaren would trust him. Suddenly Ali stopped, and Jaren true to form bumped into his back."Keep goin'! Wrap around tha city an' kill all these ********> Ali ordered.
"Okay Ali!" Jaren said giving him an awkward salute before turning to go, a hand on the shoulder prevented him from going very far though he turned back to Ali and looked questioningly at him.
"Not you! The bunch o' you stay with me!" Is what Ali said
"Not you! I want you to stay by my side because not only do I trust you with my life, but I also respect you as both a friend and a fighter... ********> Is what Jaren heard, or imagined to be more accurate. For a moment the myrmidon went all starry eyed.
"Oh, Ali. I love you too buddy!" He exclaimed leaping through the air between them in order to hug the bandit. Except instead of hugging Ali... Jaren found himself about halfway up the back of a disgusting, sweaty, large man who had occupied the air between Ali and Jaren during the kid's starstruck moment. A prime example of why you should look before you leap.
"Ahhhhhh what is this?! Dear Lord the smell! Why is he so sticky! I-I can't let go, oh nooooooo I'm stuck to him!" Jaren wailed as he struggled ineffectually, Iguldra was impossibly adhesive, it was like he was sweating superglue and because of that Jaren was unable to unlock his arms from around the monsters waist. His feet dangled a few inches off the ground, but worst of all the side of his face was attached to the small of the mutants back.
Iguldra suddenly felt a little itchy, but on the whole didn't notice Jaren at all. Ali couldn't see Jaren from this angle either, all the other bandits could though, they just stared at... well whatever the hell was happening.
Slowly the giant turned around to face the barrier and Jaren found himself looking at Ali. If Ali was looking at Iguldra's back he would see the most terrified look Jaren had ever given him as he mouthed the words "Help me." And then the standing still Iguldra became the charging Iguldra. Jaren who was along for the ride was crying and trying to shake his head. "Nooooo nonono noooo" he moaned as sweat, hair and folds of skin slapped against him. It was the singular most unpleasant experience ever conceived.
Without even stopping Iguldra lifted his arms giving Jaren a front row view to his armpits "Oh my God is that a ball of lint or a live raccoon in there?! Is it winking at me?!" The sight would haunt him for the rest of his life, but would also give him solace.
He would always be thankful he wasn't as bad off as that thing that seemed to scrape out a living in the huge bandits underarms.
But enough about that.
Iguldra blew through the barrier with a traumatized Jaren attached to his back and stopped for a moment as if trying to figure out what to do nex, Ali yelled something about getting him to kill the mages while Jaren was just hanging around..
"Ali, I'm in a bit of a sticky situation here." He responded having recovered enough to make a pun (but not enough to laugh at his own joke yet). Seriously did this guy like bathe in kool-aid? Anything else snappy Jaren was going to say was drowned out by Iguldra’s loud roar “Grrrrrahhhhhhhbluuuuugaaaa!” he screamed as he was off to the races again with his stylish Jaren knapsack bouncing on his back. Iguldra wasn’t much for stratagy, he was told to break a barrier and so he did, and after a moment (and a half attempt at a thought) he figured that since Ali wasn’t yelling anymore for him to do things so maybe it was time to show a little initative.
This consisted of squishing nearby people who didn’t look like they were on his side with his big hammer. Knowing Iguldra’s tendancy to squish first and ask never the other bandits gave the beast a wide berth.
Well everyone but Jaren who really no longer had any say in the matter.
We all have our secrets, we all wear a mask. A persona if you will, to cover our real selves, our shadows, the face that we could not show to society and still appear sane. Not even we know our true nature.

So... it was finally the day. About damn time. If this war dragged on any longer, it'd be Christmas time and they'd have to postpone the next event.
The young lord was stationed near the walls of the city with a few others to protect the mages who were going to set up the barrier around Eyris. Seemed like it was part of some master plan the crew and remaining nobility had come up with. The barrier itself could only buy them some time, as it depended strongly on both the magical power of the mages creating the barrier as well as their willpower to keep it going. Chances were, they were going to be exhausted when the barrier would come crashing down. But the barrier still had plenty of purposes. It'd drain the enemy's resources trying to take it down. Then again, they were dealing with two armies, and if he understood their tactics well enough from how things went during the war, Mordache would probably wait until Sentrian bandits broke their way through first to tire the Learanian defenders, then overwhelm them. If they could deal with the bandits quickly before the magic users tired out, they could probably use the openings in the barriers the Sentrians made against the Mordacheans.
Wishful thinking, but hey, it could work... maybe.
Roy watched as the barrier went up, watching with silent awe at the concentration the mages in his group were putting to make this barrier sturdy. It wasn't long before some large flaming boulders crashed into the barrier, but failed to do so much as make a dent. Impressive... It didn't take long for the enemy to realize their efforts were meaningless, as they stopped launching the projectiles. If long range didn't work... close range was their only other option.
On his person was an Iron sword, the Flame sword, a rapier, and a Steel sword, and an elixir in case things got bad. He hoped he wouldn't need to use the rapier or the Flame sword (that much) until Mordache came, as their forces were mostly armor and horsemen and had some weaknesses to the two.
And thus, the bandits came. Roy rested his hand on the hilt of his Flame sword, readying himself for the inevitable combat. Seems like they broke through the main barrier, and were now proceeding to take out the mages in the smaller barriers to take down the bigger one. In this group that headed for the barrier he and a few others were in charge of protecting, Roy noticed a few somewhat familiar faces. The dark-skinned man, who seemed to swear with every sentence coming out of his vulgar mouth... wasn't he at Feo's fort? Yes... there was no mistaking that. Deborah had fought him, and last he remembered, had kicked his a**. He should thank the bandit for using the Flame sword, as it saved him the trouble of searching for a worthy weapon in the midst of all that treasure to replace the nearly-broken SoS.
There was also a green-haired brat tagging along with the black bandit. If Roy recalled from a year ago, wasn't he the kid in the cowsuit? Huh... he knew he was forgetting something, but for them to forget about the cowsuit kid was a pretty bad move of theirs. Helping comrades was part of the guild's creed, wasn't it? For them to forget a comrade is basically going against their very existence as an organization.
A big-a** and ugly as sin bandit was now walking towards the barrier, wielding the largest hammer the redhead had ever laid his eyes on. The hammer went up as the large bandit (with Jaren inconspicuously stuck to his back) charged towards them.
"Brace yourselves!" Roy shouted to his allies, his arm moving up to shield his head from the imminent destruction of their shield.
Hammer met shield, and their magical defense crumbled against the sheer weight of the blow. As bits and pieces of their barrier fell, Roy had unsheathed the Flame sword. Things would not end well if that behemoth attacked again. Fire billowed around the blade before he swung towards the ugly b*****d.
"Explosion!" he said, and moments later, a burst of flame exploded in the hammer-wielding giant's face. Hopefully, it blinded him so that he would stagger backwards in hopes of getting away from the flames and bump into the charging bandits. The young lord grimaced slightly, but he hoped he and the others here with him could at least deal with this bunch without suffering too many casualties.

The barrier slowly came crumbling apart, until there was nothing left. Its remnants glistened in the light and blew away with the wind. Lord Zeon sighed solemnly as he hut his eyes. "So.. it has begun."
He turned around and began to walk away, but spoke aloud to Nino, who was beside him. "I shall retreat into the castle and remain with the king. If our enemy should make it that far..." He stopped and looked back at her. "I will help serve as the last defense." He looked her in the eyes for a few seconds and then turned back and continued on to the castle. "Do as you wish, Captain Nino. Those are your guild members out there fighting. I wonder what you shall do to help them..."
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The three horseback Mordachean commanders on the western front each looked into the sky as it slowly became filled with a threat to their victory. "Ah, here they come..." Vern muttered. "That didn't did take very long. Learania must be very confident in their wyvern division. Because of that, they've flown right into our hands..."
"Sir! Orders?" The officer by Mendeleeve inquired.
"Infantry advance, with ladders at the ready. I want them on that wall. That goes for Avery's troops in the north, as well. We will attack with full force from all sides." The officer conveyed his understanding. "And prepare the battering ram. We will crush that gate and infiltrate, ourselves."
The officer flinched as a catapult not far away was crushed by a falling boulder that had been dropped by one of the dragon riders. "And the wyverns?"
Mendeleeve blankly looked out for a moment before replying. "...Send them a volley."
"Oh-ho!" Vern chuckled. "Not afraid to take out our own troops, are we?"
Mendeleeve grinned at such a remark, but withheld his commentary. "That is why we have reserves."
With the orders relayed, Mordache's armies began to advance. As they approached the wall, ladders began to rise into the air, with soldiers already on them, ready to leap out onto the stone. They were not without losses, of course, for their enemies took out many with arrows, but more soldiers quickly replaced the fallen ones. Before the Learanians on the wall knew it, the ladders were making contact and they were being forced into close combat- and it will remain that way, if nobody does anything.
While that distraction occurred, the battering ram was moving into place. A path had been made for it to pass, and it was being covered by the large shields of the heavily armored Mordachean units to protect against arrows. The gate was extra fortified, but it would eventually come bursting apart, especially if nothing was done about the ram.
By then, the archers had lined up with a slim blazing trail in front of them, in order for them to ignite their arrows with flame. They all took a generic aim into the sky and released their volley, sending many arrows at the wyverns in the sky. Consequently, the arrows that missed came soaring down upon the Mordachean army. It made little difference in the army's size or strength, but it showed the way Mordachean officers treated human life.
"Heh... Well that was fun to watch, but there's still a s**t load of wyverns up there." commented Epimetheus. "It's gunna take forever just using archers." He looked over to his brother and smiled snidely. "I think it's time we released our own beasts of the sky, dontcha think? After all, it's like Vern said.. they've flown right into our hands."
"... ...Indeed." the brother replied, after deciding it was a good move. "If Learania truly believes that they are the only ones in this battle who have aerial units... they will soon discover how thoroughly mistaken they are." Mendeleeve turned to his subordinate. "Soldier! Send the word to Siegell. Tell him it is time... to release the Bat Lizards."

The barrier had failed... The plan had failed. She threw the staff they had given her to the ground. "Useless thing!" she muttered. As Lord Zeon began to walk away, she turned to look at him helplessly. Where was he going?! He told her what he was going to do... and left her alone. It made sense for him to go and protect the king. But... now what?
She stood, lost, for a moment, then picked Sophos up from the ground where it lie next to the one she had thrown. She had wanted to use Sophos for the barrier, but the others seemed not to want her to.
Chaos had erupted. She looked around her. First thing to do would be to leave the castle. She had to get to the town gates to stop the armies from getting through somehow...
She made her way out, but she knew she couldn't do it alone.
(Sorry for breaking character here but come on guys... we need to keep the bad guys out of the town. Get this rolling, lets finish what we started, go go go! Together we Ride, right?)

The siege was beginning and they were the defenders. Oujay took post to protect the mages that were casting the barrier around Eyris. He watched as the two armies approached the main barrier and watch them bombard the barrier with countless attacks. He began to notice the cracks around the barrier as they continued their siege. The main barrier was beginning to crumble. A few moments later, just as predicted, the barrier cracked and the armies continued charging in.
The blue haired swordsman drew his steel blade and wielded it in his right hand and his shield in the other. The enemies were going to charge at the mages they were in charge of protecting next. Luckily, a smaller barrier between them stopped the bandits from getting to them at the moment. Suddenly at the opposite part of the shield Oujay was posted at, he heard a large crack. He turned around, and noticed the rogue too late. The knife went past the protectors and struck the caster in the middle of them.
The man that broke the barrier began to walk away and the hero ran up to the whole of the barrier to catch him, but a hatchet was suddenly thrown at him from another opponent. He blocked the hatchet with the shield and turned to see who threw it at him. She was grinning seductively at him and the other protectors. It seems as though he could not chase the one who broke the barrier down.
Oujay turned back at the other allies behind him. They knew what to do. The hero turned back and looked at Jezebel. He would accept her challenge. He charged at her, holding his shield in front of him. Now that the mage they were protecting was dead. Their objective was now to stop them from getting any closer to the castle.

Kiote Deliven & Grave Yuion The barrier coming up, and then crashing down really had no effect on Kiote or Grave in the slightest. Kiote still hadn't moved from his spot on sitting on a crate watching the wyvern's take to the sky. Kiote closed his eyes for a moment as he reclined against the nearby wall before letting out a sigh. There was a good deal of pause, then the sound of clicking nails on the ground. Kiote slowly opened his eyes as he looked over at the very large dark wolf approaching him. Kiote stared at the wolf for a moment before nodding as he jumped up onto his feet. It was time then. Kiote had purposely hung back from the fighting at the start, mainly because he wasn't technically apart of this guild that was spoken so highly of, and also because he wasn't too keen on fighting. Still, Kiote figured he had nothing to lose here, and Grave seemed to be trying to find a place for the two of them to fit in. The least Kiote could do was try. No one could blame him for that. "Let's go then, Grave."
And with that Kiote was following the dark wolf as it padded its way down the street in the direction of the fighting. Kiote and Grave did not take long to find signs of fighting. Grave, giving only a momentary growl at Kiote, took off as the two approached the breach in the line. Kiote pulled out his bow as he let out a sigh, pulling an arrow to the string as he took aim. "Grave, I hope your decision to protect the gate doesn't get us killed." Kiote mummbled as he fired off the arrow, pulling a second arrow to the string and firing a second later. Kiote was no sniper, but he certainly had some aim with that bow of his. His first arrow found it's mark, piercing the shoulder of the unsuspecting bandit. The second, aimed for the chest, cut just below the neck line. Kiote's eyes took notice of Grave cutting his own path through the bodies. Without pause, Kiote's aim changed and picked off a target after Grave.
Kiote's sharp shooting came to an end rather quickly as one of the bandits made their approach. Kiote pulled his bow over his shoulder as he drew forth a steel sword, a replacement for Verson. Kiote did not wish to overuse the two blades, hence why Kiote had purchased a steel sword. Kiote blocked the initial attack from the Bandit before flicking the blade out and countering. Blade met blade before Kiote jumped back, flicking his blade lightly in his hand. Maybe his small training with a sword wouldn't come to nothing after all.
From the point of leaving Kiote, Grave had very little idea of what he was going to do. Simply put, Grave's target was to aid those already fighting and give them a chance to recover. Grave's first target managed to see him coming at first, earning Grave nick on his side, but quickly Grave turned that around and claimed the man's life. After that Grave barely noticed that Kiote was under attack, but by this point Grave had his own problems to worry about. Grave was almost on the front lines of the fighting now, and being worried about Kiote would only get him hurt.

A squad of 12 wyvern riders formed around Tiki, FD, and any of the other dragons that will be joining us in Endgames. This squad was lead by Zeiss. Along with Mihira's squad, this would be enough riders to protect the dragons.
This feel like it is worst than Zephiel's campaign. He killed many, and involved all of the countries...but I don't think it was as LARGE as this blood mass has been. So many deaths over the months I figure...how much longer will this go?
Readying his Steel Lance he still had, he kept an eye on the incoming bandits. He remembered the dunes, and how they had tried to kill Rubley. These were the same idiots from before...just in different numbers. He would give them hell once he got the chance.

Ignis Draconis sum. Thema fabulae, thema apologi.c** igne sacrō, Flametongue, (prō amicīs pugnō) prō pace volō. Miliibus annīs supervivē, cicatricēs temporis possideō. Mirate corpus meum, pinnās meās, ignem meum! Fire Dragon The time for critical action grew ever nearer, about to dawn: Learania’s magical barrier had been erected, they’d played their gambits to request help from Estarcia and Adliana, and everyone in the great city itself was in ready to make their stand in defense of a home worth fighting for. They needed to be too, with Mordache and Sentria both in place to overtake Eyris. Indeed, the fate of Learania’s future and as well as that of all its citizenry (well, the citizenry that couldn’t easily abandon the country, at least…which describes most people) would be determined on this day? Could one imagine anything more dramatic for the endgame chapter of a Guildaversary event (yes, because it’s the imagination, but I’m digressing again)?
FD, too, was poised to defend the place where he and Nils had made so many wonderful friends, had fallen in love with one another, had united with family. And even though he still considered the new ‘King’ of Learania largely unreliable and unqualified, with the bullshit-laws and Rogvald out of the way, the dragon considered sticking around worthwhile for now. Especially now; he couldn’t just abandon all the people he had come to care about since he arrived in this world when they were being assaulted by two countries simultaneously. No, FD would fight. He would fight for everything and everyone important in his new life here in Learania, and he would do so with the ferocity one would expect of a Fire Dragon of the Scouring.
FD was still grounded in his human form when Mordache and Sentria initiated their offense to eliminate the great barrier protecting Eyris, close to the barracks Learania’s wyvern riding forces would momentarily be deployed from, calm, composed, and determined at the moment. Although not an official member of the country’s military, the dragon had collaborated in battle with their Wyvern Riders and their leader, Vaida, a number of times in the past, always with productive results. So it seemed only natural to foster the synergy they had with one another in battle to FD. It wasn’t long before the barrier was brought down by their enemies’ efforts, but with its demise came the opportunity to retaliate. As soon he heard the battle cries boom from within the barracks, he began his walk westwards. Moments later, all of Learania’s Wyvern Rider forces took to the air, boulders in the grips of the wyverns, no doubt to drop upon their enemies. It was then that the Fire Dragon assumed his magnificent natural form and soared into the same sky as the Wyvern Riders. He went westward; towards the enormous army of Mordache he could see from such an elevated altitude. Their dense numbers considered, Flametongue would definitely be put to good use in a crucial battle such as this. As FD was closing the distance between himself and his soon-to-be Flametongue targets in shiny ebon armor, the dragon found himself accompanied by a substantial number of wyvern units lead by Mihira and a man FD didn’t know the name of (Zeiss). Excellent; together, they’d be a symphony of aerial attackers capable of eliminating hordes of opponents at a time.
Finally, the time to take action was here. The Fire Dragon quickly swerved southwest until he was just beyond the expanse of Mordacheans before turning yet again, northwards this time. Near neither their vanguard nor rearguard, the dragon unleashed a heavy blast of Flametongue along the middle of Mordache’s approaching troops, eliminating numerous clusters of soldiers along the way. Flametongue was extremely valuable in this instance: when there were so many Mordacheans clustered together his fiery attack didn’t scorch the ground itself it meant more fatalities for the enemy and when that wasn’t the case it meant Mordache now had sections of fire to put out to continue their advancement. Combined with the boulders being dropped all around by the Wyvern Riders, one could hardly call Learania’s aerial units unproductive.(Blythe and Avery, and possibly Nils, posts coming soon - as NEW posts)

Iguldra indeed stumbled backwards, cracking the stone beneath his feet with each stomp. The other bandits made it a priority to get out of the way, and save for one unfortunate soul, they did. The giant had no realization that there was a child somehow pasted upon his broad back and thus made no extra endeavor at restraining a backwards fall. Luckily for Jaren, the explosion was not strong enough to knock Iguldra off his feet. He was oblivious to what had erupted and did not have the ability to think about where it had come from. It did upset him, however. "BLAARRRUAAAHHHHEHHH!!" In a simple reaction to having been attacked, the behemoth swung his hammer and smashed soldiers and bandits alike, realizing no difference in the sides of the affair he was in, aside from the one he took orders from. He stomped forward, swinging slowly yet powerfully, and more important, recklessly.
As Ali charged, his sword met the steel of a soldier's spear, which he shoved aside and opened the Learanian up to a punch in the face. While the soldier stumbled back disoriented, Ali pulled his sword back and finished the job with a slash to the exposed neck. He told Jaren to take out the magicians, but the casting of a fire ball at a bandit alerted Ali that they were still alive. "********' brat, can't even listen!" His irritation pushed him ahead and Ali wasted no effort in closing in on the casters. He spun to the side of a fire ball, his skin singed at worst, and then showed brutal, yet graceful swordsmanship as he spilled the magician's blood.
The loud roar that Iguldra emitted got Ali's attention and the black bandit turned to see the flames that caused the monster to stagger. "Da hell?!" Ali was sure he had just taken out the magician of the group, so more fire magic was not expected. To him, it meant there was another mage amongst the enemy already, which was no good to progression, so he scanned around in search. He found no mage, but his eyes did manage to catch sight of a sword; a flame sword; his sword! "********!!!" There was no issue in recognizing the flame sword he had used from Feo's hideout to fight the ebony b***h with. Ali didn't know how some kid, whom he did not yet recognize, got that sword, but he sure as hell wanted it back. He sliced his way through the crowd until he reached the redhead and then stabbed at the kid's back. "Die, you ********' thief!"

Damn. The attack didn't bring down the behemoth, but it did piss it off quite a bit. Maybe blasts of fire to the face was not the smartest move on brain-damaged individuals. The redhead backed away from the giant's hammer, narrowly evading a strike that would have caused some considerate damage. He could only hope that there was someone who could take Iguldra down before there was any more damage.
A bandit swung his sword down at the young lord, and he brushed the blow aside with his own weapon. While the parried bandit was still standing by his side, he pulled his leg towards his opposite side and kicked out towards the side of the bandit's knee. The bandit fell to his good knee, and a single swing later, his head rolled off his shoulders. It seemed like the bandits were targeting the mage, so it seemed like a good idea to cover them. Except... he was already dead. Crap. What the hell were the other Learanians doing?
Out of the bandits here, only the big guy and the black man were potentially the most dangerous. And speaking of the black man... where the hell did he go? The only possible location he could be was behind the redhead, and so he spun around, swinging the sword. And it was a good thing he did, for the black man had tried to stab him. With the swing, he managed to stop the sword from impaling him. And now the black man accused him of being a thief. He had an idea what the cursing token was talking about, so he decided to respond to that accusation.
"Don't associate me with the likes of you. And besides, you and that big guy lost that fight. Your fault for dropping THIS." Roy said, throwing a punch at Ali on the last word.

Super Awesome Swordsman; Jaren Degriess!
I'm the HERO of JUSTICE LOVE ME! "Just a minute Ali!" Jaren called as he struggled to get free from Iguldra's massive girth. Eventually, he slowly started coming free with a sickening sound similar to velcro letting go Jaren dropped to his feet. "Yes! Hahahahhaha! I'm freeeeeeee." he sung happily while drawing his sword, hearing Iguldra rampaging farther away from him. His joy however attracted a soldier, who stabbed his spear at Jaren.
The myrmidon stepped backwards and with a clang batted the spear down, changing direction now he leapt forwards sword diving towards the Learnian's neck. Blood sprayed, a body hit the ground and Jaren turned away.
At the call of Ali's ********, Jaren searched for his friend and quickly found him charging at a fellow with red hair. Apparently the red-haired man was a theif, a theif! Jaren frowned as he began making his way towards Ali and Roy, picking up speed as the Lord turned to fight the bandit.
"Evil villian! You will feel the sting of The Sword That Champions Justice!" He called as he moved past Ali, swinging his blade at Roy's neck, hopefully putting the Lord on the definsive and saving Ali from a punch in the face. Which would really only piss him off more then he normally was. We all have our secrets, we all wear a mask. A persona if you will, to cover our real selves, our shadows, the face that we could not show to society and still appear sane. Not even we know our true nature.
